Clasificación de cerámicas arqueológicas 3D usando multi-view geodesic farthest point sampling
La clasificación de cerámicas arqueológicas es un aspecto clave en la arqueología, ya que permite identificar los diferentes tipos de cerámicas y, posteriormente, interpretar sus funciones o usos que tuvieron en la antigua sociedad. Gracias al desarrollo de tecnologías de adquisición 3D como sensores y a los esfuerzos en computer vision (CV) y deep learning es posible diseñar un método inteligente capaz de automatizar la clasificación de cerámicas arqueológicas. En la presente tesis, se propone un descriptor similar a Multiview-Curvature denominado Multiview-Geodesic para la clasificación de cerámicas arqueológicas. Multiview-Geodesic está basado en la combinación de los mapas de distancias geodésicas generadas desde varias fuentes con las múltiples vistas de las cerámicas arqueológicas. El descriptor propuesto fue probado en dos conjuntos de cerámicas arqueológicas (a) Peruvian Dataset representada por 938 cerámicas arqueológicas recolectadas de diferentes museos en la ciudad de Lima-Peru, y (b) 3D Pottery dataset representada por 411 cerámicas, obteniendo la mejor puntuación tanto en Peruvian dataset con 82,67\% como en 3D Pottery dataset con 97,56 %
Estrategias de Exportación para los comerciantes de productos de Lana de Alpaca, Huancayo - 2016.
En esta investigación se tuvo como objetivo identificar las estrategias de exportación para los comerciantes de productos de lana de alpaca, Huancayo
2016. Es un trabajo de diseño no experimental de corte transversal de tipo descriptivo, no probabilístico, la población y la muestra fue de 100 microempresarios de lana de alpaca. El instrumento que se utilizo fue la encuesta de elaboración propia, procediéndose a obtener los resultados a una base de datos para el procesamiento estadístico con el SPSS utilizando el porcentaje de frecuencias. Las conclusiones a las que hemos llegado con la presente investigación: Se obtuvo que solo un 50,0% de los comerciantes de lana de alpaca reconoce las estrategias de exportación; ya que el 51,0% conocen del potencial de exportación, el 77,0% no conocen de alguna asesoría experta, el 43,0% conocen sobre selección de mercado y el 36,0% conocen sobre la formulación de estrategias
Measurement of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry in the B -> K(*) mu+ mu- Decay and First Observation of the Bs -> phi mu+ mu- Decay
We reconstruct the rare decays , , and in a data sample

by the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron
Collider. Using and decays we report the branching ratios. In addition, we report
the measurement of the differential branching ratio and the muon
forward-backward asymmetry in the and decay modes, and the
longitudinal polarization in the decay mode with respect to the squared
dimuon mass. These are consistent with the theoretical prediction from the
standard model, and most recent determinations from other experiments and of
comparable accuracy. We also report the first observation of the {\mathcal{B}}(B^0_s \to

Measurement of the Bottom-Strange Meson Mixing Phase in the Full CDF Data Set
We report a measurement of the bottom-strange meson mixing phase \beta_s
using the time evolution of B0_s -> J/\psi (->\mu+\mu-) \phi (-> K+ K-) decays
in which the quark-flavor content of the bottom-strange meson is identified at
production. This measurement uses the full data set of proton-antiproton
collisions at sqrt(s)= 1.96 TeV collected by the Collider Detector experiment
at the Fermilab Tevatron, corresponding to 9.6 fb-1 of integrated luminosity.
We report confidence regions in the two-dimensional space of \beta_s and the
B0_s decay-width difference \Delta\Gamma_s, and measure \beta_s in [-\pi/2,
-1.51] U [-0.06, 0.30] U [1.26, \pi/2] at the 68% confidence level, in
agreement with the standard model expectation. Assuming the standard model
value of \beta_s, we also determine \Delta\Gamma_s = 0.068 +- 0.026 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps-1 and the mean B0_s lifetime, \tau_s = 1.528 +- 0.019 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps, which are consistent and competitive with determinations by

Measurements of the properties of Lambda_c(2595), Lambda_c(2625), Sigma_c(2455), and Sigma_c(2520) baryons
We report measurements of the resonance properties of Lambda_c(2595)+ and
Lambda_c(2625)+ baryons in their decays to Lambda_c+ pi+ pi- as well as
Sigma_c(2455)++,0 and Sigma_c(2520)++,0 baryons in their decays to Lambda_c+
pi+/- final states. These measurements are performed using data corresponding
to 5.2/fb of integrated luminosity from ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV,
collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. Exploiting the
largest available charmed baryon sample, we measure masses and decay widths
with uncertainties comparable to the world averages for Sigma_c states, and
significantly smaller uncertainties than the world averages for excited

Search for a New Heavy Gauge Boson Wprime with Electron + missing ET Event Signature in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV
We present a search for a new heavy charged vector boson decaying
to an electron-neutrino pair in collisions at a center-of-mass
energy of 1.96\unit{TeV}. The data were collected with the CDF II detector
and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.3\unit{fb}^{-1}. No
significant excess above the standard model expectation is observed and we set
upper limits on . Assuming standard
model couplings to fermions and the neutrino from the boson decay to
be light, we exclude a boson with mass less than

Nucleotide diversity maps reveal variation in diversity among wheat genomes and chromosomes
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>A genome-wide assessment of nucleotide diversity in a polyploid species must minimize the inclusion of homoeologous sequences into diversity estimates and reliably allocate individual haplotypes into their respective genomes. The same requirements complicate the development and deployment of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers in polyploid species. We report here a strategy that satisfies these requirements and deploy it in the sequencing of genes in cultivated hexaploid wheat (<it>Triticum aestivum</it>, genomes AABBDD) and wild tetraploid wheat (<it>Triticum turgidum </it>ssp. <it>dicoccoides</it>, genomes AABB) from the putative site of wheat domestication in Turkey. Data are used to assess the distribution of diversity among and within wheat genomes and to develop a panel of SNP markers for polyploid wheat.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Nucleotide diversity was estimated in 2114 wheat genes and was similar between the A and B genomes and reduced in the D genome. Within a genome, diversity was diminished on some chromosomes. Low diversity was always accompanied by an excess of rare alleles. A total of 5,471 SNPs was discovered in 1791 wheat genes. Totals of 1,271, 1,218, and 2,203 SNPs were discovered in 488, 463, and 641 genes of wheat putative diploid ancestors, <it>T. urartu</it>, <it>Aegilops speltoides</it>, and <it>Ae. tauschii</it>, respectively. A public database containing genome-specific primers, SNPs, and other information was constructed. A total of 987 genes with nucleotide diversity estimated in one or more of the wheat genomes was placed on an <it>Ae. tauschii </it>genetic map, and the map was superimposed on wheat deletion-bin maps. The agreement between the maps was assessed.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>In a young polyploid, exemplified by <it>T. aestivum</it>, ancestral species are the primary source of genetic diversity. Low effective recombination due to self-pollination and a genetic mechanism precluding homoeologous chromosome pairing during polyploid meiosis can lead to the loss of diversity from large chromosomal regions. The net effect of these factors in <it>T. aestivum </it>is large variation in diversity among genomes and chromosomes, which impacts the development of SNP markers and their practical utility. Accumulation of new mutations in older polyploid species, such as wild emmer, results in increased diversity and its more uniform distribution across the genome.</p
Hv-CBF2A overexpression in barley accelerates COR gene transcript accumulation and acquisition of freezing tolerance during cold acclimation
Abstract C-Repeat Binding Factors (CBFs) are DNAbinding
transcriptional activators of gene pathways imparting
freezing tolerance. Poaceae contain three CBF subfamilies,
two of which, HvCBF3/CBFIII and HvCBF4/CBFIV,
are unique to this taxon. To gain mechanistic insight into
HvCBF4/CBFIV CBFs we overexpressed Hv-CBF2A in
spring barley (Hordeum vulgare) cultivar ‘Golden Promise’.
The Hv-CBF2A overexpressing lines exhibited stunted
growth, poor yield, and greater freezing tolerance compared
to non-transformed ‘Golden Promise’. Differences in
freezing tolerance were apparent only upon cold acclimation.
During cold acclimation freezing tolerance of the
Hv-CBF2A overexpressing lines increased more rapidly
than that of ‘Golden Promise’ and paralleled the freezing
tolerance of the winter hardy barley ‘Dicktoo’. Transcript
levels of candidate CBF target genes, COR14B and DHN5
were increased in the overexpressor lines at warm temperatures,
and at cold temperatures they accumulated to much
higher levels in the Hv-CBF2A overexpressors than in
‘Golden Promise’. Hv-CBF2A overexpression also
increased transcript levels of other CBF genes at FROST
RESISTANCE-H2-H2 (FR-H2) possessing CRT/DRE sites
in their upstream regions, the most notable of which was
CBF12. CBF12 transcript levels exhibited a relatively constant
incremental increase above levels in ‘Golden Promise’
both at warm and cold. These data indicate that Hv-CBF2A
activates target genes at warm temperatures and that transcript
accumulation for some of these targets is greatly
enhanced by cold temperatures
Differential cross section measurements for the production of a W boson in association with jets in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV
Measurements are reported of differential cross sections for the production of a W boson, which decays into a muon and a neutrino, in association with jets, as a function of several variables, including the transverse momenta (pT) and pseudorapidities of the four leading jets, the scalar sum of jet transverse momenta (HT), and the difference in azimuthal angle between the directions of each jet and the muon. The data sample of pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV was collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb[superscript −1]. The measured cross sections are compared to predictions from Monte Carlo generators, MadGraph + pythia and sherpa, and to next-to-leading-order calculations from BlackHat + sherpa. The differential cross sections are found to be in agreement with the predictions, apart from the pT distributions of the leading jets at high pT values, the distributions of the HT at high-HT and low jet multiplicity, and the distribution of the difference in azimuthal angle between the leading jet and the muon at low values.United States.
