    Perehdyttäminen on keskeinen osa organisaation henkilöstöjohtamista ja henkilöstön kehittämistä. Perehdyttämisen avulla varmistetaan uuden työntekijän sopeutuminen työyhteisöön ja tehostetaan uuden työn oppimista. Tämä produktityyppinen opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toimeksiantona Aditro Oy:n Espoon toimipisteelle. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli laatia Aditron Espoon toimipisteen palkka- ja henkilöstöhallinnon ulkoistuspalveluihin perehdyttämissuunnitelma. Lisäksi työssä selvitettiin hyvän perehdyttämisen tunnusmerkkejä ja laadukkaan perehdyttä-misprosessin osa-alueita. Toimeksiantajan perehdyttämisprosessin nykytilaa ja keskeisimpiä kehittämiskohteita kartoitettiin haastattelemalla henkilöstöä loka- ja marraskuussa 2013. Tutkimusmene-telmänä käytettiin kvalitatiivista eli laadullista tutkimusta ja tutkimushaastattelut toteu-tettiin teemahaastatteluina. Teoriaosuuden lähdemateriaalina käytettiin pääasiassa alan kirjallisuutta. Toimeksiantajan perehdyttämisprosessi oli suoritetun tutkimuksen perusteella huonosti organisoitu sekä aikataulullisesti ja sisällöllisesti tehoton. Myös perehdyttämisen seuran-taa ja arviointia luonnehdittiin heikoksi tai jopa olemattomaksi. Opinnäytetyön produktina Aditro Oy:n Espoon toimipisteen palkka- ja henkilöstöhal-linnon ulkoistuspalveluiden henkilöstö saa käyttöönsä uuden työntekijän perehdyttämi-sessä hyödynnettävän perehdyttämissuunnitelman. Luotu perehdyttämissuunnitelma otetaan käyttöön vuoden 2014 aikana.Orientation is an important part of an organization’s human resource management and personnel development. Good orientation ensures that new employees adapt to their new work community better and it also makes learning of the new job more efficient. This product-type thesis was done as an assignment for Aditro Ltd., Espoo. The goal of this thesis was to create an orientation plan for the personnel working in the payroll and human resource outsourcing services. Key concepts and characteristics of good orientation were also researched and reported. The current state and the main areas in need of development in the target company’s orientation process were surveyed through a series of interviews in late 2013. The cho-sen research method was qualitative research and the interviews were conducted as theme-centered interviews. The source material for the theoretical framework consisted mainly on literature discussing human resource management, leadership and orientation. The conducted research showed that the orientation process in the target company was poorly organized in terms of time and content. Also the follow-up and evaluation of the process was considered to be almost non-existent. As a product of this thesis, Aditro Ltd. Espoo will receive an orientation plan that can be utilized whenever new employees start their employment in the payroll and human resource outsourcing services. The orientation plan will be implemented during 2014

    Energy performance of compressed biomethane gas production from co-digestion of Salix and dairy manure: factoring differences between Salix varieties

    Biogas from anaerobic digestion is a versatile energy carrier that can be upgraded to compressed biomethane gas (CBG) as a renewable and sustainable alternative to natural gas. Organic residues and energy crops are predicted to be major sources of bioenergy production in the future. Pre-treatment can reduce the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic energy crops such as Salix to anaerobic digestion, making it a potential biogas feedstock. This lignocellulosic material can be co-digested with animal manure, which has the complementary effect of increasing volumetric biogas yield. Salix varieties exhibit variations in yield, composition and biomethane potential values, which can have a significant effect on the overall biogas production system. This study assessed the impact of Salix varietal differences on the overall mass and energy balance of a co-digestion system using steam pre-treated Salix biomass and dairy manure (DaM) to produce CBG as the final product. Six commercial Salix varieties cultivated under unfertilised and fertilised conditions were compared. Energy and mass flows along this total process chain, comprising Salix cultivation, steam pre-treatment, biogas production and biogas upgrading to CBG, were evaluated. Two scenarios were considered: a base scenario without heat recovery and a scenario with heat recovery. The results showed that Salix variety had a significant effect on energy output-input ratio (R), with R values in the base scenario of 1.57-1.88 and in the heat recovery scenario of 2.36-2.94. In both scenarios, unfertilised var. Tordis was the best energy performer, while the fertilised var. Jorr was the worst. Based on this energy performance, Salix could be a feasible feedstock for co-digestion with DaM, although its R value was at the lower end of the range reported previously for energy crops

    Issues concerning web-based business reporting: an analysis of the views of interested parties

    Rapid developments in information and communications technology have led organisations in many countries to consider the impact of the Internet on the delivery and dissemination of business information. This paper reports the findings of a UK study into the views of various user groups, preparers and auditors regarding specific proposals for change and newly emerging practices. Over 500 individuals from six groups responded to a questionnaire study, representing an overall response rate of 33%. Views were elicited regarding: (i) the desirability of different kinds of additional information that could be provided electronically, (ii) the usefulness of different navigation and search aids, and (iii) the portability of information under different formats.It is found that users favour many of the expansions of scope made possible by the web. A range of navigation aids, search aids and file formats are found by all groups to be at least fairly useful, especially global navigation aids. Preferences regarding file formats vary across the groups. Paired group comparisons show that, while expert and non-expert users hold similar views in relation to many issues, users' and preparers' views differ considerably. Auditors' views generally fall in between those of users and preparers. Cyert and Ijiri's (1974) framework is used to rationalise the observed conflicts and congruences of interest, underpinning clear pointers for policy-makers

    A Genetic Animal Model of Alcoholism for Screening Medications to Treat Addiction

    The purpose of this review is to present up-to-date pharmacological, genetic, and behavioral findings from the alcohol-preferring P rat and summarize similar past work. Behaviorally, the focus will be on how the P rat meets criteria put forth for a valid animal model of alcoholism with a highlight on its use as an animal model of polysubstance abuse, including alcohol, nicotine, and psychostimulants. Pharmacologically and genetically, the focus will be on the neurotransmitter and neuropeptide systems that have received the most attention: cholinergic, dopaminergic, GABAergic, glutamatergic, serotonergic, noradrenergic, corticotrophin releasing hormone, opioid, and neuropeptide Y. Herein, we sought to place the P rat's behavioral and neurochemical phenotypes, and to some extent its genotype, in the context of the clinical literature. After reviewing the findings thus far, this chapter discusses future directions for expanding the use of this genetic animal model of alcoholism to identify molecular targets for treating drug addiction in general

    Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements

    Elective cancer surgery in COVID-19-free surgical pathways during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic: An international, multicenter, comparative cohort study

    PURPOSE As cancer surgery restarts after the first COVID-19 wave, health care providers urgently require data to determine where elective surgery is best performed. This study aimed to determine whether COVID-19–free surgical pathways were associated with lower postoperative pulmonary complication rates compared with hospitals with no defined pathway. PATIENTS AND METHODS This international, multicenter cohort study included patients who underwent elective surgery for 10 solid cancer types without preoperative suspicion of SARS-CoV-2. Participating hospitals included patients from local emergence of SARS-CoV-2 until April 19, 2020. At the time of surgery, hospitals were defined as having a COVID-19–free surgical pathway (complete segregation of the operating theater, critical care, and inpatient ward areas) or no defined pathway (incomplete or no segregation, areas shared with patients with COVID-19). The primary outcome was 30-day postoperative pulmonary complications (pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, unexpected ventilation). RESULTS Of 9,171 patients from 447 hospitals in 55 countries, 2,481 were operated on in COVID-19–free surgical pathways. Patients who underwent surgery within COVID-19–free surgical pathways were younger with fewer comorbidities than those in hospitals with no defined pathway but with similar proportions of major surgery. After adjustment, pulmonary complication rates were lower with COVID-19–free surgical pathways (2.2% v 4.9%; adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 0.62; 95% CI, 0.44 to 0.86). This was consistent in sensitivity analyses for low-risk patients (American Society of Anesthesiologists grade 1/2), propensity score–matched models, and patients with negative SARS-CoV-2 preoperative tests. The postoperative SARS-CoV-2 infection rate was also lower in COVID-19–free surgical pathways (2.1% v 3.6%; aOR, 0.53; 95% CI, 0.36 to 0.76). CONCLUSION Within available resources, dedicated COVID-19–free surgical pathways should be established to provide safe elective cancer surgery during current and before future SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks
