The holographic superconductors in higher-dimensional AdS soliton
We explore the behaviors of the holographic superconductors at zero
temperature for a charged scalar field coupled to a Maxwell field in
higher-dimensional AdS soliton spacetime via analytical way. In the probe
limit, we obtain the critical chemical potentials increase linearly as a total
dimension grows up. We find that the critical exponent for condensation
operator is obtained as 1/2 independently of , and the charge density is
linearly related to the chemical potential near the critical point.
Furthermore, we consider a slightly generalized setup the
Einstein-Power-Maxwell field theory, and find that the critical exponent for
condensation operator is given as in terms of a power parameter
of the Power-Maxwell field, and the charge density is proportional to the
chemical potential to the power of .Comment: LaTeX, 16 pages, 5 figures, typos corrected, one reference added,

Mapping autophagosome contents identifies interleukin-7 receptor-α as a key cargo modulating CD4+ T cell proliferation
CD4+ T cells are pivotal cells playing roles in the orchestration of humoral and cytotoxic immune responses. It is known that CD4+ T cell proliferation relies on autophagy, but identification of the autophagosomal cargo involved is missing. Here we create a transgenic mouse model, to enable direct mapping of the proteinaceous content of autophagosomes in primary cells by LC3 proximity labelling. Interleukin-7 receptor-α, a cytokine receptor mostly found in naïve and memory T cells, is reproducibly detected in autophagosomes of activated CD4+ T cells. Consistently, CD4+ T cells lacking autophagy show increased interleukin-7 receptor-α surface expression, while no defect in internalisation is observed. Mechanistically, excessive surface interleukin-7 receptor-α sequestrates the common gamma chain, impairing the interleukin-2 receptor assembly and downstream signalling crucial for T cell proliferation. This study shows that key autophagy substrates can be reliably identified in this mouse model and help mechanistically unravel autophagy's contribution to healthy physiology and disease
H∞ filtering for non-linear systems with stochastic sensor saturations and Markov time delays: The asymptotic stability in probability
This study is concerned with the filtering problem for a class of non-linear systems with stochastic sensor saturations and Markovian measurement transmission delays, where the asymptotic stability in probability is considered. The sensors are subject to random saturations characterised by a Bernoulli distributed sequence. The transmission time delays are governed by a discrete-time Markov chain with finite states. In the presence of the non-linearities, stochastic sensor saturations and Markovian time delays, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee that the filtering process is asymptotically stable in probability without disturbances and also satisfies the H∞ criterion with respect to non-zero exogenous disturbances under the zero-initial condition. Moreover, it is illustrated that the results can be specialised to linear filters. Two simulation examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. This work was supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants 61490701, 61290324, 61273156, 61473163, and 61210012, and Research Fund for the Taishan Scholar Project of Shandong Province of China, and Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of E-business at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics of China under Grant JSEB201301, and Tsinghua University Initiative Scientific Research Program
Holographic nonlinear hydrodynamics from AdS/CFT with multiple/non-Abelian symmetries
We study viscous hydrodynamics of hot conformal field theory plasma with
multiple/non-Abelian symmetries in the framework of AdS/CFT correspondence,
using a recently proposed method of directly solving bulk gravity in derivative
expansion of local plasma parameters. Our motivation is to better describe the
real QCD plasma produced at RHIC, incorporating its U(1)^Nf flavor symmetry as
well as SU(2)_I non-Abelian iso-spin symmetry. As concrete examples, we choose
to study the STU model for multiple U(1)^3 symmetries, which is a sub-sector of
5D N=4 gauged SUGRA dual to N=4 Super Yang-Mills theory, capturing Cartan
U(1)^3 dynamics inside the full R-symmetry. For SU(2), we analyze the minimal
4D N=3 gauged SUGRA whose bosonic action is simply an Einstein-Yang-Mills
system, which corresponds to SU(2) R-symmetry dynamics on M2-branes at a
Hyper-Kahler cone. By generalizing the bosonic action to arbitrary dimensions
and Lie groups, we present our analysis and results for any non-Abelian plasma
in arbitrary dimensions.Comment: 37 pages, v3: errors corrected, reference added, JHEP versio
Measurement of the Bottom-Strange Meson Mixing Phase in the Full CDF Data Set
We report a measurement of the bottom-strange meson mixing phase \beta_s
using the time evolution of B0_s -> J/\psi (->\mu+\mu-) \phi (-> K+ K-) decays
in which the quark-flavor content of the bottom-strange meson is identified at
production. This measurement uses the full data set of proton-antiproton
collisions at sqrt(s)= 1.96 TeV collected by the Collider Detector experiment
at the Fermilab Tevatron, corresponding to 9.6 fb-1 of integrated luminosity.
We report confidence regions in the two-dimensional space of \beta_s and the
B0_s decay-width difference \Delta\Gamma_s, and measure \beta_s in [-\pi/2,
-1.51] U [-0.06, 0.30] U [1.26, \pi/2] at the 68% confidence level, in
agreement with the standard model expectation. Assuming the standard model
value of \beta_s, we also determine \Delta\Gamma_s = 0.068 +- 0.026 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps-1 and the mean B0_s lifetime, \tau_s = 1.528 +- 0.019 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps, which are consistent and competitive with determinations by
other experiments.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures, Phys. Rev. Lett 109, 171802 (2012
Search for direct production of charginos and neutralinos in events with three leptons and missing transverse momentum in √s = 7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector
A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with three electrons or muons and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is based on 4.7 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector. Observations are consistent with Standard Model expectations in three signal regions that are either depleted or enriched in Z-boson decays. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric models and in simplified models, significantly extending previous results
