Efectos del alcohol etílico sobre el sistema osteoarticular
En el presente trabajo se estudia la osteoartropatía que presentan 25
pacientes alcohólicos crónicos, valorándola tanto a nivel clínico como radiológico.
Se observa en ellos que existen alteraciones metabólicas y neuroló-
gicas que pueden justificar esta osteoartropatía. Sin embargo, en algunos
casos no se ha podido demostrar alteración neurológica por lo que habría
que justificar la osteoartropatía únicamente por vía metabólica.
No parece existir relación entre el grado de lesión neurológica y/o metabólica
y la lesión radiológica, ni tampoco se relaciona ésta con la cantidad

have been found, that it justify this osteoarthropathy.
However, in some cases they couldn't prove neurologic alterations

the metabolic findings.
There are not relation between the grade of neurologic and/or
metabolic injury and the radiologic alteration, as well as the
relation with quantity of alcohol consumed
Inflammasome in als skeletal muscle: Nlrp3 as a potential biomarker
Since NLRP3 inflammasome plays a pivotal role in several neurodegenerative disorders, we hypothesized that levels of inflammasome components could help in diagnosis or prognosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Gene and protein expression was assayed by RT-PCR and Western blot. Spearman’s correlation coefficient was used to determine the linear correlation of transcriptional expression levels with longevity throughout disease progression in mice models. Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to evaluate MCC950 effects (NLRP3 inhibitor) on lifespan of SOD1G93A mice. The results showed significant alterations in NLRP3 inflammasome gene and protein levels in the skeletal muscle of SOD1G93A mice. Spearman’s correlation coefficient revealed a positive association between Nlrp3 transcriptional levels in skeletal muscle and longevity of SOD1G93A mice (r = 0.506; p = 0.027). Accordingly, NLRP3 inactivation with MCC950 decreased the lifespan of mice. Furthermore, NLRP3 mRNA levels were significantly elevated in the blood of ALS patients compared to healthy controls (p = 0.03). In conclusion, NLRP3 could be involved in skeletal muscle pathogenesis of ALS, either through inflammasome or independently, and may play a dual role during disease progression. NLRP3 gene expression levels could be used as a biomarker to improve diagnosis and prognosis in skeletal muscle from animal models and also to support diagnosis in clinical practice with the blood of ALS patients

realizar un análisis comparativo de los indicadores
técnicos explotativos en las cosechadoras de caña
KTP-2M y KTP-3000S. En el análisis se demostró
que el desempeño de la cosechadora KTP-3000S es superior
a la KTP-2M, alcanzando valores significativos
en cuanto a tiempo, eficiencia en el campo, coeficiente
de seguridad técnica, materias extrañas durante el
corte y valores de producción total, no teniendo este
mismo comportamiento con los indicadores de consumo
de combustible y valores de las pérdidas en
cosecha de todo el período.Por lo que se puede afirmar que la cosechadora cañera
KTP-3000S presentó un mejor desempeño durante el
cumplimiento de su destino de servicio. // The processes of design, manufacture and operation

In the analysis it was demonstrated that the performance
of the KTP-3000S harvester exceeds the KTP
2M, achieving significant values in terms of time, field
efficiency, coefficient of technical safety, foreign matter
field during cutting and values of total production
not having this same behavior with fuel consumption
indicators and values of crop losses throughout the
period.So we can say that the KTP-3000S sugar cane harvester,
presented a better performance during the

Cell identity and nucleo-mitochondrial genetic context modulate OXPHOS performance and determine somatic heteroplasmy dynamics
Heteroplasmy, multiple variants of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in the same cytoplasm, may be naturally generated by mutations but is counteracted by a genetic mtDNA bottleneck during oocyte development. Engineered heteroplasmic mice with nonpathological mtDNA variants reveal a nonrandom tissue-specific mtDNA segregation pattern, with few tissues that do not show segregation. The driving force for this dynamic complex pattern has remained unexplained for decades, challenging our understanding of this fundamental biological problem and hindering clinical planning for inherited diseases. Here, we demonstrate that the nonrandom mtDNA segregation is an intracellular process based on organelle selection. This cell type-specific decision arises jointly from the impact of mtDNA haplotypes on the oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) system and the cell metabolic requirements and is strongly sensitive to the nuclear context and to environmental cues
Precision on leptonic mixing parameters at future neutrino oscillation experiments
We perform a comparison of the different future neutrino oscillation
experiments based on the achievable precision in the determination of the
fundamental parameters theta_{13} and the CP phase, delta, assuming that
theta_{13} is in the range indicated by the recent Daya Bay measurement. We
study the non-trivial dependence of the error on delta on its true value. When
matter effects are small, the largest error is found at the points where CP
violation is maximal, and the smallest at the CP conserving points. The
situation is different when matter effects are sizable. As a result of this
effect, the comparison of the physics reach of different experiments on the
basis of the CP discovery potential, as usually done, can be misleading. We
have compared various proposed super-beam, beta-beam and neutrino factory
setups on the basis of the relative precision of theta_{13} and the error on
delta. Neutrino factories, both high-energy or low-energy, outperform
alternative beam technologies. An ultimate precision on theta_{13} below 3% and
an error on delta of < 7^{\circ} at 1 sigma (1 d.o.f.) can be obtained at a

Chemical Analysis of the Brightest Star of the Cetus II Ultra-Faint Dwarf Galaxy Candidate
We present a detailed chemical abundance analysis of the brightest star in
the ultra-faint dwarf (UFD) galaxy candidate Cetus II from high-resolution
Magellan/MIKE spectra. For this star, DES J011740.53-173053, abundances or
upper limits of 18 elements from Carbon to Europium are derived. Its chemical
abundances generally follow those of other UFD galaxy stars, with a slight
enhancement of the alpha-elements (Mg, Si, and Ca) and low neutron-capture
element (Sr, Ba, Eu) abundances supporting the classification of Cetus II as a
likely UFD. The star exhibits lower Sc, Ti, and V abundances than Milky Way
(MW) halo stars with similar metallicity. This signature is consistent with
yields from a supernova (SN) originating from a star with a mass of ~11.2 solar
masses. In addition, the star has a Potassium abundance of [K/Fe] = 0.81 which
is somewhat higher than the K abundances of MW halo stars with similar
metallicity, a signature which is also present in a number of UFD galaxies. A
comparison including globular clusters (GC) and stellar stream stars suggests
that high K is a specific characteristic for some UFD galaxy stars and can thus

Study of the Very High Energy emission of M87 through its broadband spectral energy distribution
The radio galaxy M87 is the central dominant galaxy of the Virgo Cluster.Very High Energy (VHE, TeV) emission, from M87 has been detectedby Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs ). Recently, marginal evidence forVHE long-term emission has also been observed by the High Altitude WaterCherenkov (HAWC) Observatory, a gamma ray and cosmic-ray detector array locatedin Puebla, Mexico. The mechanism that produces VHE emission in M87 remainsunclear. This emission is originated in its prominent jet, which has beenspatially resolved from radio to X-rays. In this paper, we constructed aspectral energy distribution from radio to gamma rays that is representative ofthe non-flaring activity of the source, and in order to explain the observedemission, we fit it with a lepto-hadronic emission model. We found that thismodel is able to explain non-flaring VHE emission of M87 as well as an orphanflare reported in 2005.<br
Validation of standardized data formats and tools for ground-level particle-based gamma-ray observatories
Ground-based gamma-ray astronomy is still a rather young field of research,with strong historical connections to particle physics. This is why mostobservations are conducted by experiments with proprietary data and analysissoftware, as it is usual in the particle physics field. However in recentyears, this paradigm has been slowly shifting towards the development and useof open-source data formats and tools, driven by upcoming observatories such asthe Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). In this context, a community-driven,shared data format (the gamma-astro-data-format or GADF) and analysis toolssuch as Gammapy and ctools have been developed. So far these efforts have beenled by the IACT community, leaving out other types of ground-based gamma-rayinstruments.We aim to show that the data from ground particle arrays, such asthe High-Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory, is also compatible withthe GADF and can thus be fully analysed using the related tools, in this caseGammapy. We reproduce several published HAWC results using Gammapy and dataproducts compliant with GADF standard. We also illustrate the capabilities ofthe shared format and tools by producing a joint fit of the Crab spectrumincluding data from six different gamma-ray experiments. We find excellentagreement with the reference results, a powerful check of both the publishedresults and the tools involved. The data from particle detector arrays such asthe HAWC observatory can be adapted to the GADF and thus analysed with Gammapy.A common data format and shared analysis tools allow multi-instrument jointanalysis and effective data sharing. Given the complementary nature of pointingand wide-field instruments, this synergy will be distinctly beneficial for thejoint scientific exploitation of future observatories such as the SouthernWide-field Gamma-ray Observatory and CTA.<br
Measurement of the Bottom-Strange Meson Mixing Phase in the Full CDF Data Set
We report a measurement of the bottom-strange meson mixing phase \beta_s
using the time evolution of B0_s -> J/\psi (->\mu+\mu-) \phi (-> K+ K-) decays
in which the quark-flavor content of the bottom-strange meson is identified at
production. This measurement uses the full data set of proton-antiproton
collisions at sqrt(s)= 1.96 TeV collected by the Collider Detector experiment
at the Fermilab Tevatron, corresponding to 9.6 fb-1 of integrated luminosity.
We report confidence regions in the two-dimensional space of \beta_s and the
B0_s decay-width difference \Delta\Gamma_s, and measure \beta_s in [-\pi/2,
-1.51] U [-0.06, 0.30] U [1.26, \pi/2] at the 68% confidence level, in
agreement with the standard model expectation. Assuming the standard model
value of \beta_s, we also determine \Delta\Gamma_s = 0.068 +- 0.026 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps-1 and the mean B0_s lifetime, \tau_s = 1.528 +- 0.019 (stat) +-
0.009 (syst) ps, which are consistent and competitive with determinations by
