A review on methods of finding losses and cooling methods to increase efficiency of electric machines

    Get PDF
Performance of electric motors and losses in terms of heat and temperature are reviewed in this paper. Airgap eccentricity, electromagnetic performance, effect of temperature and losses are shown as factors affecting the efficiency. Several methods of computer aided analyses are listed. Temperature distribution in an induction motor is shown through the results of a simulation. Different cooling methods are reviewed. Future directions for research include cryogenic cooling, heat pipes and usage of phase change materials

A Non-Training Approach to Generating High Semantic Titles for Chinese Documents

    No full text
Due to the abundance of available data, manual title generation may become unfeasible. Traditionally, information retrieval has been applied to perform automatic title generation by exploring and searching for keywords from a document. However, titles generated through such a direct combination approach may not satisfy Chinese grammatical rules, and also may not express the semantic meaning explicitly. Thus, we propose a non-learning approach based on conceptual schema to generating titles automatically through sentence modification and recombination. Experimental results prove that our model can satisfy the automatic title generation requirements

Heat Conduction of Air in Nano Spacing

Abstract

The scale effect of heat conduction of air in nano spacing (NS) is very important for nanodevices to improve their life and efficiency. By constructing a special technique, the changes of heat conduction of air were studied by means of measuring the heat conduction with heat conduction instrument in NS between the hot plate and the cooling plate. Carbon nanotubes were used to produce the nano spacing. The results show that when the spacing is small down to nanometer scale, heat conduction plays a prominent role in NS. It was found that the thickness of air is a non-linear parameter for demarcating the heat conduction of air in NS and the rate of heat conduction in unit area could be regard as a typical parameter for the heat conduction characterization at nanometer scale.</p
