Dîvân Anahtarı as the First Index of Dîvânü Lügâti’t-Türk by Hüseyin

1915-1917 yılları arasında Kilisli Muallim Rıfat Bilge tarafından neşre hazırlanan Dîvânü Lügâti’t-Türk neşri üzerine çağdaşı Hüseyin Hüsameddin Yasar söz konusu yayını esas alan Dîvân Anahtarı adlı bir indeks hazırlamıştır. Fakat Hüseyin Hüsameddin’in bu çalışması yazma şeklinde ve muhtemelen tek nüsha olduğu için Türkoloji literatürüne takdim edilmemiştir. Biz de bu çalışmamızda müellif Hüseyin Hüsâmeddin’in hayatı, eserleri- Dîvân Anahtarı adlı eseri ve Türkoloji’ye katkıları hakkında bilgi vermek istiyoruz

Bu makalede Molla Muhammed Timur tarafından 1131 (1718-19) tarihlerinde Kaşgar’da kaleme alınan Çağatayca Kelile ve Dimne tercümesi tanıtılıp söz konusu metnin nüshaları karşılaştırılacaktır. Eserin özgün adı Âŝâru’l-imâmiye’dir. Âŝâru’l-imâmiye de kaynak olarak Kelile ve Dimne’nin Farsça tercümesi olan ve Kaşifi tarafından kaleme alınan Envâr-i Süheylī’ye dayanmaktadır. Hollanda Leiden Üniversitesi Kütüphanesi 6269’da ve Özbekistan Fenler Akademisi Ebu Rayhan Biruni Şarkşinaslık Enstitüsü Yazma Eserler Bölümü P11307’de kayıtlı olmak üzere iki nüshası vardır

Houve uma associação feita entre Geocentrismo e Antropocentrismo antes da Revolução Copérnica?

Some post-Copernican authors, such as Bernard de Fontenelle and Cyrano de Bergerac, mention an association between geocentrism and anthropocentrism that was broken by the Copernican model. This argument has been criticized by authors such as A. O. Lovejoy, Remi Brague, and Dennis R. Danielson, who argue that the geocentric model of the Universe humiliated man rather than glorified him, since the Earth, as the center of the Universe, was seen as the filthy part of the Universe. So, living on the Earth was not considered a noble status for Man. In this paper, however, I will show that living in the coarser part of the Universe had also been seen in conjunction with having a noble status, and that there was indeed an association made between geocentrism and anthropocentrism before the Copernican Revolution.Alguns autores pós-copernicanos, como Bernard de Fontenelle e Cyrano de Bergerac, mencionam uma associação entre geocentrismo e antropocentrismo que foi quebrada pelo modelo copernicano. Este argumento foi criticado por autores como A. O. Lovejoy, Remi Brague e Dennis R. Danielson, que argumentam que o modelo geocêntrico do Universo mais humilhou o homem do que o glorificou, uma vez que a Terra, como centro do Universo, foi vista como a parte imunda do Universo. Assim, viver na Terra não era considerado um status nobre para o Homem. Neste artigo, no entanto, mostrarei que viver na parte mais grosseira do Universo também era visto em conjunto com um status nobre, e que havia de fato uma associação feita entre geocentrismo e antropocentrismo antes da Revolução Copérnica.Alguns autores pós-copernicanos, como Bernard de Fontenelle e Cyrano de Bergerac, mencionam uma associação entre geocentrismo e antropocentrismo que foi quebrada pelo modelo copernicano. Evaluatıon of venture capital system in Turkey in terms of the investment tradıng processes and Islamıc law

The funding system for cutting-edge innovations is the vibrant venture capital industry. To put it another way, it's an industry that has the potential to generate a lot of money and plenty of jobs for people. To engage in entrepreneurial activity means to go ahead into a novel and potentially lucrative field of commercial activity by making use of a particular method or set of tools. Most entrepreneurs are young, ambitious persons with unique skills and potentially lucrative ideas. Positive science owes a great deal to the Quran, which has several instances that served as a foundation. Examples of entrepreneurship include the methods employed by Yusuf, the achievements of Suleyman, and the use of wind energy. Islam recognises three types of partnerships used in the venture capital industry: contracts of exception (work contracts), faith partnerships (joint stock companies), and labor-capital partnerships (mudaraba). In this research, we assessed the efficacy of these cooperative arrangements by looking at instances from the Quran and Islamic history. There are partnerships or systems used in venture capital in Islamic law, such as contract of exception, partnership of faith and laborcapital partnership. It is important for the continuity of the system that the venture capital company creates a joint investment fund by investing in multiple areas (hybrid) instead of a risky area. The profit rate can be very high, but lies, fraud, monopoly formation and speculation should be avoided in the formation of this price

Identification of a novel entomopathogenic nematode strain and its mutualistic bacteria isolated from Turkey

Bu çalışma, Türkiye topraklarından izole edilmiş olan yeni bir entomopatojen nematod izolatı (izolat no. 48-02) ve mutualistik bakterisinin tanımlanması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar başta entomopatojen nematodun moleküler ve morfometrik analizlere dayanarak tanımlanması olmak üzere, moleküler ve biyokimyasal yöntemler ile de mutualistik bakterilerin tanımlanmasına yönelik olarak iki grup halinde yürütülmüştür. Moleküler ve morfometrik verilerin bir arada değerlendirilmesi sonucunda izole edilen entomopatojen nematod izolatının (48-02) Heterorhabditis bacteriophora olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Diğer çalışmada, moleküler ve biyokimyasal analizler sonucunda izole edilen simbiyotik bakteri Photorhabdus luminescens subsp. laumondii olarak tanımlanmıştır. İzole edilen P. luminescens lamondii 48-02 suşunun enfekte ettiği kadavranın rengini diğer Photorhabdus izolatları gibi kırmızı renge değil yeşil-gri renge çevirdiği ve kadavranın dokusunu sakızımsı hale getirmediği belirlenmiştir. Antrakinon üreten gen bölgesinde mutasyon olduğu belirlenen P. luminescens lamondii 48-02 suşunun virulanslığının moleküler olarak benzer olan TT01 suşundan daha fazla olduğu ve konukçularını daha hızlı bir şekilde öldürdüğü saptanmıştır. Ayrıca yapılan çaprazlama testlerinde P. luminescens lamondii 48-02 suşunun H. bacteriophora TT01 nematod izolatına ait infektif juvenillerinde kolonize olabilirken, P. luminescens lamondii TT01 suşunun H. bacteriophora 48-02'nin infektif juvenillerinde kolonize olamadıkları belirlenmiştir.This study has been conducted to identify a novel entomopathogenic nematode isolate (isolate no. 48-02) and its mutualistic bacteria isolated from Turkey. Entomopathogenic nematode was identified with molecular analyses and morphometric measurements. Mutualistic bacteria of novel EPN strain was identified with molecular and biochemical analyses. According to molecular and morphometric data, new nematode isolate (48-02) was identified as Heterorhabditis bacteriophora. In the second part of the study, according to molecular and biochemical analyses, isolated bacteria from novel EPN strain was identified as Photorhabdus luminescens subsp. laumondii. The symbiotic bacteria of new H. bacteriophora isolate do not produce red pigment and host tissue not become gumminess. P. luminescens laumondii strain 48-02 was more virulent and killing its host faster then molecularly similar P. luminescens laumondii TT01 strain. On the other hand, cross breeding tests showed that P. luminescens laumondii strain 48-02 colonized in H. bacteriophora TT01 infective juveniles nematodes but the bacterial symbiont of TT01 did not colonized in H. bacteriophora 48-02 infective juveniles

The Impact of Sustainability Index on Firm Performance: An Event Study

The aim of this paper is to find out the impact of inclusion of companies in Sustainability Index of Borsa Istanbul on the stock returns. Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index has launched on the 4th of November 2014. Since that date, each year Borsa Istanbul announces which companies to be listed in the Sustainability Index based on the criteria met. For the empirical analysis, event study has implemented. Within the context of seven day event window, the impact of inclusion in the index and the announcement of Borsa Istanbul regarding the companies has been analyses respectively. Findings of the study reveal that inclusion in the Sustainability Index as well as the announcement of Borsa Istanbul have positive impact on the firm performance. Companies have abnormal returns which contradict with the assumptions of Efficient Market Hypothesis

The evaluation of achievement orientation and academic self-regulation of students studying in Faculties of Sport Sciences

This study aims to evaluate the achievement orientation and academic self-regulation of students studying in Faculties of Sport Sciences according to a number of variables.1073 students studying in the Departments of Teaching, Sport Management, Coaching and Recreation in the Faculties of Sport Sciences at Gazi University, Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University and Selcuk University participated in this study voluntarily. Volunteers were asked to complete the Socio-Demographic Information Form, Achievement Orientation Scale and Academic Self-Regulation Scale. The Achievement Orientation Scale was created by Elliot and Murayama in 2008 and adapted into Turkish in 2012 by Uçar with the validity and reliability value of .89. The Academic Self-Regulation Scale, on which validity and reliability studies have been carried out, was created by Martinez Pons in 2000, modified by Maclellan and Soden in 2006 and adapted into Turkish by Kaplan in 2014.  Data collected was registered using the IBM SPSS 22 package. Inventories, which contain personal information about participants, were given as frequency (f) or percentage (%) values corresponding to the average score. The data had a non-parametric distribution. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis analyses were used for statistical analysis.As a result, it is proven that achievement orientation and self-regulation are directly related to the gender, university and department. The reason for this may be the fact that universities and instructors, who aspire to develop students' professional and personal characteristics and increase students' knowledge and awareness, also desire to make students attain individual self-sufficiency by educating them in accordance with students' goals.// Annotate Highligh

Günümüzde artık yayımlanması bir gelenek halini alan şiir antolojileri ve şair ve sanatçı biyografileri, çok köklü bir tarihî arka plana sahiptir. Önceki çağların büyük insanlarının hayatlarını ve onların yaşadığı mühim olayları yazılı olarak anlatma geleneği ilk olarak kutsal kitaplara dayandırılır. Bunun ilk örneği Hazreti Musa’ya vahyedilen kutsal kitap Tevrat’tır diyebiliriz. Benzer bilgiler İncilde ve Kuranda da yer almaktadır. Sözlü edebî gelenek içinde ise bu vazifeyi önce mitler daha sonra destanlar üstlenmiştir. Bu eserler biyografi geleneğinin de ilk örneklerini teşkil etmişlerdir
