    Background: High sexual activity in adolescents is not offset by used contraception, resulting in unwanted pregnancies events (KTD) high. Knowledge of contraceptive methods is necessary to prevent unwanted pregnancy occurs. Objective: To study the behavior and knoeledge of students about the emergency contraceptive methods in health and non health departments. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. The sample in this study was students at Gadjah Mada University Department of Health as 344 people and Department of Non Health as 344 people. The data analysis included univariable, bivariable, and multivariable analysis. The statistical tests used Chi-Square (X2) and ordinal logistic regression with significance level of p <0.05 and 95% Confidence Interval (CI). Results: Students majoring in health determine the use of condoms to prevent the risk of intercourse without using contraception or contraception (OR 0.51 and 95% CI: 0.28 to 0.94) and the knowledge of emergency contraception was a relative low (9.3% of students 10.1% health and non-health). Medical students who know a contraceptive method will prevent the risk of having sex without using contraception compared with non-health students OR 0.47 (95% CI: 0.31 to 0.71). Conclusion: behavior of students majoring in better health than non health students behavior (OR 0.47 and 95%CI: 0.31 to 0.71) and knowledge of emergency contraception in the health departments is relatively low compered to non health departments

    Transverse momentum spectra of charged particles in proton-proton collisions at 1as=900 GeV with ALICE at the LHC

    The inclusive charged particle transverse momentum distribution is measured in proton-proton collisions at s=900 GeV at the LHC using the ALICE detector. The measurement is performed in the central pseudorapidity region (|\u3b7|<0.8) over the transverse momentum range 0.15<10 GeV/c. The correlation between transverse momentum and particle multiplicity is also studied. Results are presented for inelastic (INEL) and non-single-diffractive (NSD) events. The average transverse momentum for |\u3b7|<0.8 is \u3008pT\u3009INEL=0.483\ub10.001 (stat.)\ub10.007 (syst.) GeV/c and \u3008pT\u3009NSD=0.489\ub10.001 (stat.)\ub10.007 (syst.) GeV/c, respectively. The data exhibit a slightly larger \u3008pT\u3009 than measurements in wider pseudorapidity intervals. The results are compared to simulations with the Monte Carlo event generators PYTHIA and PHOJET. \ua9 2010
