This prestige study surveyed full-time faculty of American Library Association ðALAÞ–accredited programs in library and information studies regarding library and information science ðLISÞ journals. Faculty were asked to rate a list of eighty-nine LIS journals on a scale from 1 to 5 based on each journal’s importance to their research and teaching. Mean and mode calculations were used to rank results. Additionally, LIS faculty were asked to list the five most prestigious journals to be published in for tenure and promotion purposes at their institution. Several journals were rated highly by each method. LIS faculty ratings of LIS journals are useful for assessing journal quality not only for decisions regarding collection management but for tenure and promotion as well

Background: Motivated employees are the most valuable resource of the organization. Thus, considering their needs and satisfaction is important. Organizational justice, due to its significant impacts on the organizational and individual work outcomes, employees’ attitudes and behaviors like job satisfaction, is of a great importance. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between organizational justice perception and job satisfaction among employees of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. Methods: The target population of this study was headquartering employees of Kerman University of Medical Sciences, among whom 285 ones were selected. For the assessment of distributive justice Niehoff and Moorman questionnaire, for procedural and interactional justice Moorman questionnaire and for job satisfaction JSS (Job Satisfaction Survey) questionnaire were used. Results: All three dimensions of organizational justice including distributive, procedural and interactional justice had a significant relationship with job satisfaction. But among the three dimensions of organizational justice, only distributive and interactional justice could predict job satisfaction. Also, organizational justice and job satisfaction of employees were not significantly different based on sex, age group, job tenure, employment status, and education. Conclusion: Since organizational justice and its dimensions have a significant relationship with job satisfaction and organizational justice can predict job satisfaction, managers should pay attention to organizational justice which leads to enhanced job satisfaction. A post process approach: E-mail dialogue journal writing and its impact on quality and quantity of high school students' writing

    Get PDF
E-mail Dialogue Journal Writing as a form of post-process approach provides students with the opportunity to communicate and collaborate with a native speaker, thus, receive authentic language input which develops their literacy skills. Despite its remarkable potentials, E-DJW practices have been rare in Asian contexts at school-level. In an attempt to bridge this gap, the present study was set out to address the impact of E-DJW on the quality and quantity of students' writing development. The findings of the study revealed that there was a lot of topic extension between the parties in the dialogue journal writing activity and the content of the writings was principally improved. A progress was also observed in the length of the entries, though not steadily. This study hopes to raise both students' and teachers' awareness of E-DJW as a writing activity which provides students with a non-threatening environment which fosters learning and makes them aware of the purpose of writing
