Coalescence Behavior of Gold Nanoparticles
The tetraoctylammonium bromide (TOAB)-stabilized gold nanoparticles have been successfully fabricated. After an annealing of the as-synthesized nanoparticles at 300 °C for 30 min, the coalescence behavior of gold nanoparticles has been investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy in detail. Two types of coalescence, one being an ordered combination of two or more particles in appropriate orientations through twinning, and the other being an ordered combination of two small particles with facets through a common lattice plane, have been observed
Mono-dispersed Functional Polymeric Nanocapsules with Multi-lacuna via Soapless Microemulsion Polymerization with Spindle-like α-Fe2O3Nanoparticles as Templates
The mono-dispersed crosslinked polymeric multi-lacuna nanocapsules (CP(StâOA) nanocapsules) about 40 nm with carboxylic groups on their inner and outer surfaces were fabricated in the present work. The small conglomerations of the oleic acid modified spindle-like α-Fe2O3nanoparticles (OAâFe2O3) were encapsulated in the facile microemulsion polymerization with styrene (St) as monomer and divinyl benzene (DVB) as crosslinker. Then the templates, small conglomerations of OAâFe2O3, were etched with HCl in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The surface carboxylic groups of the crosslinked polymeric multi-lacuna nanocapsules were validated by the Zeta potential analysis
Current hysteresis and memory effect in a molecular quantum dot with strong electron-vibron interaction
Theory of current hysteresis for tunneling through a molecular quantum dot
(MQD) with strong electron-vibron interactions and attractive electron-electron
correlations is developed. The dot is modeled as a d-fold degenerate energy
level weakly coupled to the leads. The effective attractive interaction between
polarons in the dot results in a "switching" phenomenon in the current-voltage
characteristics when d>2, in agreement with the results for the
phenomenological negative-U model. The degenerate MQD with strong
electron-vibron coupling has two stable current states in certain interval of
the bias voltage below some critical temperature.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure
