    Dosage des HAP dans les produits de pĂȘche par GC-MS au niveau des cĂŽtes marocaines

    Being widespread and highly likely to cause adverse biological effects, PAHs have been the subject of several studies and evaluation. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a series of hydrocarbons with the carbon atoms are arranged in benzene cycles united to each other, they pose a significant toxicological risk even at low concentrations, related especially to their carcinogenic and/or mutagenic properties. In addition, PAHs are part of some biodegradable contaminants which makes them persistent in natural environments. Thus, their fate in the environment has become a concern. For humans, the majority source of exposure to PAHs for non-smokers is the ingestion of food (meat, fish, vegetables, etc.). This study is conducted on fishery products collected along the Moroccan coast, landed at the level of the main ports of the Kingdom. Analyses of mean concentrations of PAHs in local products vary significantly according to the sites (p < 0,05). The results show a satisfactory quality of these products for consumption. The sampling sites are selected so as to diagnose the state of organic contamination in various fishing products. The determination of these pollutants is done by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.Les HAP Ă©tant largement rĂ©pandus et fortement susceptibles d’entraĂźner des effets biologiques nĂ©fastes, ils ont fait l’objet de plusieurs Ă©tudes et Ă©valuations. Les Hydrocarbure Aromatique Polycyclique (HAP) sont une sĂ©rie d'hydrocarbures dont les atomes de carbone sont disposĂ©s en cycles benzĂ©niques unis les uns aux autres. Ils prĂ©sentent un risque toxicologique important mĂȘme Ă  de faibles concentrations, liĂ©s surtout Ă  leurs propriĂ©tĂ©s cancĂ©rigĂšnes et/ou mutagĂšnes. De plus, les HAP font partie des contaminants peu biodĂ©gradables ce qui les rend persistants dans les milieux naturels. Ainsi, leur sort dans l'environnement est devenu un sujet prĂ©occupant. Pour l'homme, la source majoritaire d'exposition aux HAP pour les non fumeurs est l'ingestion des denrĂ©es alimentaires (viandes, poissons, lĂ©gumes, etc..). Cette Ă©tude est menĂ©e sur les produits de pĂȘche prĂ©levĂ©s le long  du littoral marocain, dĂ©barquĂ©s au niveau des principaux ports du royaume. Les analyses des teneurs moyennes des HAP dans les produits locaux variaient significativement selon les sites (p<0,05). Les rĂ©sultats montrent une qualitĂ© satisfaisante de ces  produits pour la consommation. Les sites des prĂ©lĂšvements sont choisis de maniĂšre Ă  diagnostiquer l’état de la contamination organique dans les diffĂ©rents produits pĂȘchĂ©s.     Three-month vs. one-year detraining effects after multicomponent exercise program in hypertensive older women

    Background: Chronic diseases are the leading causes of death and disability in older women. Physical exercise training programs promote beneficial effects for health and quality of life. However, exercise interruption periods may be detrimental for the hemodynamic and lipidic profiles of hypertensive older women with dyslipidemia. Methods: Nineteen hypertensive older women with dyslipidemia (exercise group: 67.5 ± 5.4 years, 1.53 ± 3.42 m, 71.84 ± 7.45 kg) performed a supervised multicomponent exercise training program (METP) during nine months, followed by a one-year detraining period (DT), while fourteen hypertensive older women (control group: 66.4 ± 5.2 years, 1.56 ± 3.10 m, 69.38 ± 5.24 kg) with dyslipidemia kept their continued daily routine without exercise. For both groups, hemodynamic and lipidic profiles and functional capacities (FCs) were assessed four times: before and after the METP and after 3 and 12 months of DT (no exercise was carried out). Results: The METP improved hemodynamic and lipidic profiles (p < 0.05), while three months of DT decreased all (p < 0.05) parameters, with the exception of diastolic blood pressure (DBP). One year of DT significantly (p < 0.01) decreased systolic blood pressure (7.85%), DBP (2.29%), resting heart rate (7.95%), blood glucose (19.14%), total cholesterol (10.27%), triglycerides (6.92%) and FC—agility (4.24%), lower- (−12.75%) and upper-body strength (−12.17%), cardiorespiratory capacity (−4.81%) and lower- (−16.16%) and upper-body flexibility (−11.11%). Conclusion: Nine months of the exercise program significantly improved the hemodynamic and lipid profiles as well as the functional capacities of hypertensive older women with dyslipidemia. Although a detraining period is detrimental to these benefits, it seems that the first three months are more prominent in these alterations.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    Destructive breakdown studies of irradiated LGADs at beam tests for the ATLAS HGTD

    In the past years, it has been observed at several beam test campaigns that irradiated LGAD sensors break with a typical star shaped burn mark when operated at voltages much lower than those at which they were safely operated during laboratory tests. The study presented in this paper was designed to determine the safe operating voltage that these sensors can withstand. Many irradiated sensors from various producers were tested in two test beam facilities, DESY (Hamburg) and CERN-SPS (Geneva), as part of ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD) beam tests. The samples were placed in the beam and kept under bias over a long period of time in order to reach a high number of particles crossing each sensor. Both beam tests lead to a similar conclusion, that these destructive events begin to occur when the average electric field in the sensor becomes larger than 12 Volts per micrometre.Comment: Published versio

    Measurement of the cross-section and charge asymmetry of WW bosons produced in proton-proton collisions at s=8\sqrt{s}=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    This paper presents measurements of the W+→Ό+ÎœW^+ \rightarrow \mu^+\nu and W−→Ό−ΜW^- \rightarrow \mu^-\nu cross-sections and the associated charge asymmetry as a function of the absolute pseudorapidity of the decay muon. The data were collected in proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 20.2~\mbox{fb^{-1}}. The precision of the cross-section measurements varies between 0.8% to 1.5% as a function of the pseudorapidity, excluding the 1.9% uncertainty on the integrated luminosity. The charge asymmetry is measured with an uncertainty between 0.002 and 0.003. The results are compared with predictions based on next-to-next-to-leading-order calculations with various parton distribution functions and have the sensitivity to discriminate between them.Comment: 38 pages in total, author list starting page 22, 5 figures, 4 tables, submitted to EPJC.     Search for chargino-neutralino production with mass splittings near the electroweak scale in three-lepton final states in √s=13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for supersymmetry through the pair production of electroweakinos with mass splittings near the electroweak scale and decaying via on-shell W and Z bosons is presented for a three-lepton final state. The analyzed proton-proton collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of √s=13  TeV were collected between 2015 and 2018 by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139  fb−1. A search, emulating the recursive jigsaw reconstruction technique with easily reproducible laboratory-frame variables, is performed. The two excesses observed in the 2015–2016 data recursive jigsaw analysis in the low-mass three-lepton phase space are reproduced. Results with the full data set are in agreement with the Standard Model expectations. They are interpreted to set exclusion limits at the 95% confidence level on simplified models of chargino-neutralino pair production for masses up to 345 GeV

    Search for squarks and gluinos in events with isolated leptons, jets and missing transverse momentum at s√=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    The results of a search for supersymmetry in final states containing at least one isolated lepton (electron or muon), jets and large missing transverse momentum with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. The search is based on proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy s√=8 TeV collected in 2012, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20 fb−1. No significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed. Limits are set on supersymmetric particle masses for various supersymmetric models. Depending on the model, the search excludes gluino masses up to 1.32 TeV and squark masses up to 840 GeV. Limits are also set on the parameters of a minimal universal extra dimension model, excluding a compactification radius of 1/R c = 950 GeV for a cut-off scale times radius (ΛR c) of approximately 30

    Measurements of fiducial and differential cross sections for Higgs boson production in the diphoton decay channel at s√=8 TeV with ATLAS

    Measurements of fiducial and differential cross sections are presented for Higgs boson production in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of s√=8 TeV. The analysis is performed in the H → γγ decay channel using 20.3 fb−1 of data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The signal is extracted using a fit to the diphoton invariant mass spectrum assuming that the width of the resonance is much smaller than the experimental resolution. The signal yields are corrected for the effects of detector inefficiency and resolution. The pp → H → γγ fiducial cross section is measured to be 43.2 ±9.4(stat.) − 2.9 + 3.2 (syst.) ±1.2(lumi)fb for a Higgs boson of mass 125.4GeV decaying to two isolated photons that have transverse momentum greater than 35% and 25% of the diphoton invariant mass and each with absolute pseudorapidity less than 2.37. Four additional fiducial cross sections and two cross-section limits are presented in phase space regions that test the theoretical modelling of different Higgs boson production mechanisms, or are sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model. Differential cross sections are also presented, as a function of variables related to the diphoton kinematics and the jet activity produced in the Higgs boson events. The observed spectra are statistically limited but broadly in line with the theoretical expectations

    Evidence for the Higgs-boson Yukawa coupling to tau leptons with the ATLAS detector

    Results of a search for H → τ τ decays are presented, based on the full set of proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC during 2011 and 2012. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of 4.5 fb−1 and 20.3 fb−1 at centre-of-mass energies of √s = 7 TeV and √s = 8 TeV respectively. All combinations of leptonic (τ → `ÎœÎœÂŻ with ` = e, ”) and hadronic (τ → hadrons Îœ) tau decays are considered. An excess of events over the expected background from other Standard Model processes is found with an observed (expected) significance of 4.5 (3.4) standard deviations. This excess provides evidence for the direct coupling of the recently discovered Higgs boson to fermions. The measured signal strength, normalised to the Standard Model expectation, of ” = 1.43 +0.43 −0.37 is consistent with the predicted Yukawa coupling strength in the Standard Model

    Measurement of the top pair production cross section in 8 TeV proton-proton collisions using kinematic information in the lepton plus jets final state with ATLAS

    A measurement is presented of the ttˉt\bar{t} inclusive production cross-section in pppp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=8\sqrt{s}=8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurement was performed in the lepton+jets final state using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb−1^{-1}. The cross-section was obtained using a likelihood discriminant fit and bb-jet identification was used to improve the signal-to-background ratio. The inclusive ttˉt\bar{t} production cross-section was measured to be 260±1(stat.)−23+22(syst.)±8(lumi.)±4(beam)260\pm 1{\textrm{(stat.)}} ^{+22}_{-23} {\textrm{(syst.)}}\pm 8{\textrm{(lumi.)}}\pm 4{\mathrm{(beam)}} pb assuming a top-quark mass of 172.5 GeV, in good agreement with the theoretical prediction of 253−15+13253^{+13}_{-15} pb.
