Advances in Electronic-Nose Technologies Developed for Biomedical Applications

The research and development of new electronic-nose applications in the biomedical field has accelerated at a phenomenal rate over the past 25 years. Many innovative e-nose technologies have provided solutions and applications to a wide variety of complex biomedical and healthcare problems. The purposes of this review are to present a comprehensive analysis of past and recent biomedical research findings and developments of electronic-nose sensor technologies, and to identify current and future potential e-nose applications that will continue to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of biomedical treatments and healthcare services for many years. An abundance of electronic-nose applications has been developed for a variety of healthcare sectors including diagnostics, immunology, pathology, patient recovery, pharmacology, physical therapy, physiology, preventative medicine, remote healthcare, and wound and graft healing. Specific biomedical e-nose applications range from uses in biochemical testing, blood-compatibility evaluations, disease diagnoses, and drug delivery to monitoring of metabolic levels, organ dysfunctions, and patient conditions through telemedicine. This paper summarizes the major electronic-nose technologies developed for healthcare and biomedical applications since the late 1980s when electronic aroma detection technologies were first recognized to be potentially useful in providing effective solutions to problems in the healthcare industry

Brownfields

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje problematice brownfields. Definuje pojem brownfields a popisuje jeho jednotlivé typy. Dále se zabývá trendy, které tuto problematiku doprovází a zkoumá možné přístupy k řešení brownfields. Součástí je analýza přístupů vybraných zemí k řešení tohoto tématu. Vzhledem k příležitosti čerpání finančních prostředků EU v programovacím období 2007 - 2013, která je České republice přislíbena, analyzuje též možnosti jejich částečného využití v oblasti regenerace brownfields. Poslední část se věnuje rozboru 4 případových studií s nástinem jejich řešení

Fluxes for lead-free soldering and their reliability impacts

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou tavidel a jejích vlivů na spolehlivost desky plošných spojů. V úvodních kapitolách jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy týkající se kontaminace a tavidel. Dále jsou popsány normy a testovací metody pro posouzení povrchového izolačního odporu a iontové kontaminace desky plošných spojů. V další části jsou realizované experimenty pro testování povrchového izolačního odporu a iontové kontaminace DPS pro různá tavidla a různé přetavovací teploty. V závěrečné části jsou vyhodnoceny výsledky experimentů.Katedra technologií a měřeníObhájenoThis diploma thesis deals with fluxes and their effect on the reliability of the printed circuit boards. The initial chapters explain the basic concepts related to contamination and fluxes. Next part describes the standards and test methods for the assessment of surface insulation resistance and ion contamination of the PCB. The other parts are realized experiments to test the insulation resistance and surface contamination of PCB for various fluxes and different remelting temperatures. The final section analyzes the results of experiments

Photovoltaic power plants - Sun Tracking Systems

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou moderních fotovoltaickým systémům, možnostmi jejich použití a zejména pak jejich řízení. Zaobírá se jak teoretickou částí, ve které rozebírá problematiku solárních trackovacích systémů, tak i praktickou částí, v nichž popisuje postup při instalaci systému a řešení problémů které nastaly. Heavy metal contents [lead and cadmium] in sets of courses served in military university dinning hall in the Czech Republic

The evaluation of the chosen sets of courses has been done in this research work. Chemical analysis of sets of courses involved the determination of the content of toxic elements such as lead and cadmium by polarographic analyzer. The determined quantity of lead as well as cadmium did not exceed acceptable limits.W niniejszej pracy oceniano wybrane zestawy dań, serwowanych w stołówce uczelni wojskowej w Republice Czeskiej. Analiza chemiczna obejmowała oznaczenie zawartości metali toksycznych - ołowiu i kadmu przy użyciu analizatora polarograficznego. Oznaczone ilości ołowiu i kadmu nie przekraczały dopuszczalnych wartości
