The excavation of the megalithic complex of the Peña Oviedo, pretends to be the beginning of a larger study that approaches the megalithic phenomenon in the global River basins of the Deva and Nansa rivers. The total lack of knowledge of the megalithic phenomenon, but not even of its existence in these mountain valleys of western Cantabria, requires a study that reveals its characteristics and relations with neighboring areas

Allocating Family Responsibilities for Dependent Older People in Mexico and Peru

This paper applies different analytical frameworks to explore processes of family bargaining about providing care for dependent older people in Mexico and Peru. These frameworks include cultural norms, life course effects and material exchange. The paper is based on 19 in-depth qualitative family case studies, which are linked to a wider set of quantitative survey data. Care arrangements and bargaining processes are revealed to be highly gendered, and largely conform to prevailing cultural norms. Rather than neutral and objective, the self-identified role as main carer is found to be subjective and potentially ambiguous. The few men who self-identify as main carers are more likely to play an indirect, organisational role than engage directly in daily care. As such, bargaining mainly relates to which woman performs the main care role, and large family networks mean that there is usually more than one candidate carer. Bargaining can occur inter-generationally and conjugally, but bargaining between siblings is of particular importance. Bargaining is framed by the uncertain trajectory of older people’s care needs, and arrangements are sometimes reconfigured in response to changing care needs or family circumstances. Taking the narratives at face value, the influence of life course effects on bargaining and care arrangements is more obvious than material exchange. There are, however, indications that economic considerations, particularly inheritance, still play an important behind the scenes role

Objectives: To describe the frequency of readmission within 30 days for nosocomial infection at the “Hospital Torrecardenas” of Almeria. Material and methods: The source is from 1/1/2007 to 31/1/2008 CMBDh, analyzed 25,653 episodes. Readmissions for nosocomial infection (NI): proportion of patients at discharge for each hospital episode during the study period that are so urgently readmitted in 30 days with IN, and is credited as the primary diagnosis of new entry or as a diagnosis secondary. Descriptive analysis of variables such as age, sex, high service, month high, episode duration and primary diagnosis, using association between variables. Results: The proportion of readmissions by IN is 2.6 ‰ (IC95% 2,0–3,3), representing a total of 67 episodes of readmission for IN (5.0% of readmissions). The unit with more readmissions for IN was the hospital's urology unit (9.7 ‰ (IC95% 1,9–17,4)). A higher probability of readmission was associated with male gender, older age, certain diagnostic and service to hospital discharge. Inpatient units with more readmissions: mental health, obstetrics, radiation oncology, oncology and rheumatology, however, drives with more readmissions IN: urology, Angiology and Vascular C., oncology, pulmonology and cardiology. The diseases that stand out as readmission for IN are “other disorders of urethra and urinary tract” “postoperative infection, not elsewhere classified”. Conclusions: We have characterized the pattern of readmissions due to infections in the hospital Torrecárdenas, used to be used to implement preventive measures as an indicator of quality

Palabras clave: Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans; consorcio microbiano; microorganismos biolixiviadores; Sulfobacillus spp, resistencia al cobreABSTRACTThe sensitivity to copper by bioleaching microorganism is one of the main problems faced by mining to improve bioleaching processes. In this sense, we evaluated the resistance to copper of a microbial consortium formed by Sulfobacillus spp., and Acidithiobacillus ferroxidans which was propagated, in aerated and agitated tank bioreactors of 1 L, which contained 9 K medium supplemented with iron and concentrations copper (200 mM, 400 mM, 600 mM, 800 mM and 1,000 mM) at 30 °C with a pH of 1.6 for 96 hours. A samples of each bioreactor was colleted every 8 hours, to perform cytometric microscope and molecular analysis, and plate count test showed a resistance to copper at 1,000 mM. It was observed that the microbial consortium can grow in the presence of copper both in liquid medium (bioreactors -9K + Cu: 200 mM – 800 mM) and in solid media (agarose – 9K + Cu: 1,000 mM). Our results propose that the consortium formed Sulfobacillus spp., and Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans presents wxtreme resistance to copper and could be applied under higher scaling conditions in bioleaching processes of sulfide minerals where copper is found in concentrations up to 1 000 mM. Keywords: Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidas; bioleaching microorganisms; microbial consortium; Sulfobacillus spp; resistance to copper

Search for chargino-neutralino production with mass splittings near the electroweak scale in three-lepton final states in √s=13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

A search for supersymmetry through the pair production of electroweakinos with mass splittings near the electroweak scale and decaying via on-shell W and Z bosons is presented for a three-lepton final state. The analyzed proton-proton collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of √s=13  TeV were collected between 2015 and 2018 by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139  fb−1. A search, emulating the recursive jigsaw reconstruction technique with easily reproducible laboratory-frame variables, is performed. The two excesses observed in the 2015–2016 data recursive jigsaw analysis in the low-mass three-lepton phase space are reproduced. Results with the full data set are in agreement with the Standard Model expectations. They are interpreted to set exclusion limits at the 95% confidence level on simplified models of chargino-neutralino pair production for masses up to 345 GeV

Search for new phenomena in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at √ s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Results of a search for new phenomena in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search uses 20.3 fb−1 of √ s = 8 TeV data collected in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are required to have at least one jet with pT > 120 GeV and no leptons. Nine signal regions are considered with increasing missing transverse momentum requirements between Emiss T > 150 GeV and Emiss T > 700 GeV. Good agreement is observed between the number of events in data and Standard Model expectations. The results are translated into exclusion limits on models with either large extra spatial dimensions, pair production of weakly interacting dark matter candidates, or production of very light gravitinos in a gauge-mediated supersymmetric model. In addition, limits on the production of an invisibly decaying Higgs-like boson leading to similar topologies in the final state are presente
