Všechny výpočty jsou provedeny podle EC.The main aim of the diploma thesis is a design of two bridges on D1 highway (Říkovice – Přerov). Structural system of these two bridges is a seven spans continuous beam. The bridges span the rail track and road I/35. The structural system of these two bridges is identical. The preliminary design is processed in two options. The first one considers the use of post-tensioned pre-casted beams PETRA with cast-in place cross beams and composite bridge deck. The second draft considers the use of two slab-beam with the cross beams. Effects of loads were calculated in SCIA Engineer program. The build-up phases were assessed by TDA method. The assessment of the structure was made according to EC.

    Two-color QCD via dimensional reduction

We study the thermodynamics of two-color QCD at high temperature and/or density using a dimensionally reduced superrenormalizable effective theory, formulated in terms of a coarse grained Wilson line. In the absence of quarks, the theory is required to respect the Z(2) center symmetry, while the effects of quarks of arbitrary masses and chemical potentials are introduced via soft Z(2) breaking operators. Perturbative matching of the effective theory parameters to the full theory is carried out explicitly, and it is argued how the new theory can be used to explore the phase diagram of two-color QCD.Comment: 17 pages, 1 eps figure, jheppub style; v2: minor update, references added, published versio

Computational study of the mechanism of Bcl-2 apoptotic switch

Programmed cell death - apoptosis is one of the most studied biological phenomenon of recent years. Apoptotic regulatory network contains several significant control points, including probably the most important one - Bcl--2 apoptotic switch. There are two proposed hypotheses regarding its internal working - the indirect activation and direct activation models. Since these hypotheses form extreme poles of full continuum of intermediate models, we have constructed more general model with these two models as extreme cases. By studying relationship between model parameters and steady-state response ultrasensitivity we have found optimal interaction pattern which reproduces behavior of Bcl-2 apoptotic switch. Our results show, that stimulus-response ultrasensitivity is negatively related to spontaneous activation of Bcl-2 effectors - subgroup of Bcl-2 proteins. We found that ultrasensitivity requires effector's activation, mediated by another subgroup of Bcl-2 proteins - activators. We have shown that the auto-activation of effectors forms ultrasensitivity enhancing feedback loop, only if mediated by monomers, but not by oligomers. Robustness analysis revealed that interaction pattern proposed by direct activation hypothesis is able to conserve stimulus-response dependence and preserve ultrasensitivity despite large changes of its internal parameters. This ability is strongly reduced as for the intermediate to indirect side of the models. Computer simulation of the more general model presented here suggest, that stimulus-response ultrasensitivity is an emergent property of the direct activation model, that cannot originate within model of indirect activation. Introduction of indirect-model-specific interactions does not provide better explanation of Bcl-2 functioning compared to direct model

Coupled Mode Equations and Gap Solitons for the 2D Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a non-separable periodic potential

Gap solitons near a band edge of a spatially periodic nonlinear PDE can be formally approximated by solutions of Coupled Mode Equations (CMEs). Here we study this approximation for the case of the 2D Periodic Nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger / Gross-Pitaevskii Equation with a non-separable potential of finite contrast. We show that unlike in the case of separable potentials [T. Dohnal, D. Pelinovsky, and G. Schneider, J. Nonlin. Sci. {\bf 19}, 95--131 (2009)] the CME derivation has to be carried out in Bloch rather than physical coordinates. Using the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction we then give a rigorous justification of the CMEs as an asymptotic model for reversible non-degenerate gap solitons and even potentials and provide HsH^s estimates for this approximation. The results are confirmed by numerical examples including some new families of CMEs and gap solitons absent for separable potentials.Comment: corrections of v.5: 1-assumption A.1 strengthened; 2-powers of epsilon fixed in (4.25); 3-\hat{R}_j estimated in L_{s-2}^2 instead of L_s^2; 4-error estimate in Thm 4.9 fixed; 5- reversibility analysis in the persistence step corrected, evenness of V added as an assumption for the persistence ste

Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements
