Susceptibilidade antimicrobiana de cepas de estafilococcos coagulase-negativa isolados de ovinos de corte com mastite
Avaliou-se a sensibilidade antimicrobiana in vitro de 121 cepas de estafilococos coagulase-negativa isolada de leite de ovelhas Santa InĂȘs, aos fĂĄrmacos: penicilina, amoxicilina, ampicilina, estreptomicina, oxaciclina, neomicina, cefalotina, gentamicina e sulfonamida. A resistĂȘncia Ă sulfonamida foi a mais frequente (27,3%), seguida pela estreptomicina (14,0%) e pela oxaciclina (14,0%), enquanto da gentamicina (1,6%) foi a menos frequente. Todas as cepas foram sensĂveis a pelo menos um antimicrobiano, e 20,3% das cepas apresentaram resistĂȘncia mĂșltipla. Charge and spin inhomogeneous phases in the Ferromagnetic Kondo Lattice Model
We study numerically the one-dimensional ferromagnetic Kondo lattice. This
model is widely used to describe nickel and manganese perovskites. Due to the
competition between double and super-exchange, we find a region where the
formation of magnetic polarons induces a charge-ordered state. This ordering is
present even in the absence of any inter-site Coulomb repulsion. There is an
insulating gap associated to the charge structure formation. We also study the
insulator-metal transition induced by a magnetic field which removes
simultaneously both charge and spin ordering.Comment: 7 pages, 11 figure

Ferromagnetic Polarons in Manganites
Using the Lanczos method in linear chains we study the double exchange model
in the low concentration limit, including an antiferromagnetic super-exchange
K. In the strong coupling limit we find that the ground state contains
ferromagnetic polarons whose length is very sensitive to the value of K/t. We
investigate the dispersion relation, the trapping by impurities, and the
interaction between these polarons. As the overlap between polarons increases,
by decreasing K/t, the effective interaction between them changes from
antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic. The scaling to the thermodynamic limit
suggests an attractive interaction in the strong coupling regime (J_h > t) and
no binding in the weak limit (J_h \simeq t).Comment: 12 pages, accepted in PRB, to be published in Novembe
Doping dependence of the resonance peak and incommensuration in high- superconductors
The doping and frequency evolutions of the incommensurate spin response and
the resonance mode are studied based on the scenario of the Fermi surface
topology. We use the slave-boson mean-field approach to the
model and including the antiferromagnetic fluctuation correction in the
random-phase approximation. We find that the equality between the
incommensurability and the hole concentration is reproduced at low frequencies
in the underdoped regime. This equality observed in experiments was explained
{\it only} based on the stripe model before. We also obtain the downward
dispersion for the spin response and predict its doping dependence for further
experimental testing, as well as a proportionality between the low-energy
incommensurability and the resonance energy. Our results suggest a common
origin for the incommensuration and the resonance peak based on the Fermi
surface topology and the d-wave symmetry.Comment: 5 pages, 4 PS figure
Spin chains with dynamical lattice supersymmetry
Spin chains with exact supersymmetry on finite one-dimensional lattices are
considered. The supercharges are nilpotent operators on the lattice of
dynamical nature: they change the number of sites. A local criterion for the
nilpotency on periodic lattices is formulated. Any of its solutions leads to a
supersymmetric spin chain. It is shown that a class of special solutions at
arbitrary spin gives the lattice equivalents of the N=(2,2) superconformal
minimal models. The case of spin one is investigated in detail: in particular,
it is shown that the Fateev-Zamolodchikov chain and its off-critical extension
admits a lattice supersymmetry for all its coupling constants. Its
supersymmetry singlets are thoroughly analysed, and a relation between their
components and the weighted enumeration of alternating sign matrices is

Genome sequence and effectorome of Moniliophthora perniciosa and Moniliophthora roreri subpopulations
Background: The hemibiotrophic pathogens Moniliophthora perniciosa (witches' broom disease) and Moniliophthora roreri (frosty pod rot disease) are among the most important pathogens of cacao. Moniliophthora perniciosa has a broad host range and infects a variety of meristematic tissues in cacao plants, whereas M. roreri infects only pods of Theobroma and Herrania genera. Comparative pathogenomics of these fungi is essential to understand Moniliophthora infection strategies, therefore the detection and in silico functional characterization of effector candidates are important steps to gain insight on their pathogenicity. Results: Candidate secreted effector proteins repertoire were predicted using the genomes of five representative isolates of M. perniciosa subpopulations (three from cacao and two from solanaceous hosts), and one representative isolate of M. roreri from Peru. Many putative effectors candidates were identified in M. perniciosa: 157 and 134 in cacao isolates from Bahia, Brazil; 109 in cacao isolate from Ecuador, 92 and 80 in wild solanaceous isolates from Minas Gerais (Lobeira) and Bahia (Caiçara), Brazil; respectively. Moniliophthora roreri showed the highest number of effector candidates, a total of 243. A set of eight core effectors were shared among all Moniliophthora isolates, while others were shared either between the wild solanaceous isolates or among cacao isolates. Mostly, candidate effectors of M. perniciosa were shared among the isolates, whereas in M. roreri nearly 50% were exclusive to the specie. In addition, a large number of cell wall-degrading enzymes characteristic of hemibiotrophic fungi were found. From these, we highlighted the proteins involved in cell wall modification, an enzymatic arsenal that allows the plant pathogens to inhabit environments with oxidative stress, which promotes degradation of plant compounds and facilitates infection. Conclusions: The present work reports six genomes and provides a database of the putative effectorome of Moniliophthora, a first step towards the understanding of the functional basis of fungal pathogenicity. © 2018 The Author(s).This work was done in the frame of the International Consortium in Advanced Biology (CIBA; https://www.ciba-network.org).
