Effect of Ferroelectric Nanopowder on Electrical and Acoustical Properties of Cholesteric Liquid Crystal

Ferroelectric nano-materials are very sensitive to several external stimuli and have attracted great deal of attention due to their property of improving various properties such as photoluminescence, higher polarization, fast response time, low operating voltage and improved conductivity. For enhancing the physical properties, a proper selection of nano-materials for liquid crystals depends upon various factors such as size, shape, preparation methods, surfactant concentration and amount of doping materials. In the present study an attempt is made to study  electrical and acoustical properties of cholesteric liquid crystal after dispersing ferroelectric nano-powder of Barium Titanate (BaTiO3). In addition with this particle size and surface area of pure and nono-particle dispersed liquid crystal were also measured. Our investigation shows increase in Rao’s constant or molar sound velocity, which indicates increase in molecular density indicating a close packing of the material. The measurement of dielectric relaxation at different frequencies gives information about the dynamics of polar groups and molecular motion

A REVIEW ON A FLASH CHROMATOGRAPHY

ABSTRACT Flash chromatography is rapid form of preparative column chromatography-preparative liquid chromatography based upon an air pressure driven hybrid of medium and short column chromatography optimized for rapid separation of organic compounds. As technology has evolved available guidelines for normal-phase flash chromatography have become less relevant. Years of experience performing chromatography with disposable columns have been condensed into simple guidelines useful for translating TLC results into either isocratic-or gradient-flash chromatography. The described studies should provide researchers with a means of selecting adequate columns and guidelines to reduce the waste of solvents, silica, time, and money. Modern flash chromatography systems are sold as pre-packed plastic cartridges and the solvent is pumped through the cartridge. These systems may also be linked with detectors and fraction collectors providing automation. The introduction of gradient pumps has resulted in quicker separations and less solvent usage

A multi-country test of brief reappraisal interventions on emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased negative emotions and decreased positive emotions globally. Left unchecked, these emotional changes might have a wide array of adverse impacts. To reduce negative emotions and increase positive emotions, we tested the effectiveness of reappraisal, an emotion-regulation strategy that modifies how one thinks about a situation. Participants from 87 countries and regions (n = 21,644) were randomly assigned to one of two brief reappraisal interventions (reconstrual or repurposing) or one of two control conditions (active or passive). Results revealed that both reappraisal interventions (vesus both control conditions) consistently reduced negative emotions and increased positive emotions across different measures. Reconstrual and repurposing interventions had similar effects. Importantly, planned exploratory analyses indicated that reappraisal interventions did not reduce intentions to practice preventive health behaviours. The findings demonstrate the viability of creating scalable, low-cost interventions for use around the world

A field experiment was carried out in Zaid 2022 at the Department of Agronomy's Agricultural Research Farm in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh). There are three planting geometries used in the experiment 30 cm x 10 cm, 40 cm x 10 cm, and 50 cm x 10 cm. There are three nitrogen management treatments used in the experiment 50% of the Recommended Dose of Nitrogen (RDN) through inorganic fertilizer, 50% of the RDN th rough inorganic fertilizer in combination with 50% of Nitrogen provided through Farm yard manure with Azotobacter seed inoculation, and 50% of the RDN through inorganic fertilizer. Ten treatments were duplicated three times in the randomized block design of the experiment. Findings showed that with 30x10cm spacing ,50% RDN + 50% N through Farm yard manure + biofertilizer (Azotobacter) highest grain yield (552.38 kg/ha), net return (30221.00 INR/ha), gross return (71809.00 INR/ha), and benefit: cost ratio (1.73)

Metazoan parasites of the Indian mackerel, Rastrelliger kanagurta (Scombridae) of Visakhapatnam coast, Bay of Bengal

The metazoan parasite fauna of the Indian mackerel Rastrelliger kanagurta of Visakhapatnam coast, Bay of Bengal comprised 15 species including three species of Monogenea, seven species of Digenea and five species of Crustacea. Digeneans were the dominant members in the parasite spectrum while infections with ectoparasitic monogeneans and crustaceans were rare. The digeneans Opechona bacillaris and Lecithocladium angustiovum which occurred with high prevalence and mean intensity are the typical parasites of the mackerel. The parasitic fauna in general is found to be a reflection of the planktonivorous diet of the host. Except for two species of digeneans, Lecithocladium angustiovum and Aponurus laguncula, all the remaining species of metazoans showed narrow specificity to R. kanagurta, indicating a high degree of host specialization. The parasitological data may prove useful for differentiating stocks of R. kanagurta
