    Detection of the technical-tactical pattern of the scoring actions in judo in the men’s category of -73 kg

    The scoring actions determine the judoka winner in a combat. The scientific community has studied them, but these studies are especially descriptive. To this end, the purpose of this study is to discover and analyse the technical-tactical patterns of the scoring actions in judo combat. Ninety-one scoring actions were analysed (−73 kg males, Judo World Championship 2017) using different commonly used analysis techniques within the observational methodology: traditional statistical analysis, T-Patterns detection, sequential analysis delays and polar coordinates analysis. The tendency of scoring with leg and arm projections prevails (seoi-otoshi, ouchi-gari, tai-otoshi and uchi-mata). The more efficient technique on the ground was yoko-shiho-gatame. The waza-ari is three times more frequent than the ippon. The actions score mainly during the final stages of combat. The judokas with favourable scores score more points through immobilisations, with scores equal to leg techniques and with scores against sacrificial techniques. It is important to conduct the combat’s initiative because in most the actions, the judoka that scores has no penalties and the one who does not score does. A common pattern is achieving a waza-ari with a direct leg attack technique or a static arm technique

    Alteraciones hematológicas en perros (Canis lupus familiaris) diagnosticados con Ehrlichia spp. por PCR, en clínicas veterinarias del Nordeste Argentino

    Ehrlichiosis is a vector-borne disease that affects numerous species. It is caused by Ehrlichia spp. gram-negative, obligate intracellular bacteria with a coccoid or pleomorphic appearance that infects monocytes. Diagnosis, through clinical symptoms, is difficult given the similarity of presentation with other vector-borne disease. The evaluation of hematological parameters (hemogram and blood smear) is the first indication of the clinical veterinarian, since it is possible to find intracytoplasmic inclusions (morulae) in monocytes. The aim of this study was to evaluate hematological alterations in dogs diagnosed with Ehrlichia spp. by peripheral blood smear, and to confirm it by molecular technique (PCR). From June/2021 to July/2022 dog samples were analyzed and intracytoplasmic inclusions were identified in seven samples. The presence of anemia and thrombocytopenia without alterations in the number of leukocytes was observed in 6 of 7 blood samples. The PCR technique confirmed the initial diagnosis in 2/7 samples, amplifying the dsb 330/728 gene segment. The usefulness of hematological parameters together with the diagnostic confirmation by PCR technique is emphasized, the latter being a highly sensitive and specific method, which offers up to 100% diagnostic confidence in detecting and amplifying the DNA of Ehrlichia spp.La ehrlichiosis es una enfermedad transmitida por vectores (ETV) que afecta a numerosas especies. Es causada por Ehrlichia spp. una bacteria gramnegativa, intracelular obligada, de aspecto cocoide o pleomórfica, que infecta los monocitos. El diagnóstico, a través de los síntomas clínicos, se dificulta dada la similitud de presentación con otras ETV. La evaluación de los parámetros hematológicos (hemograma y extendido sanguíneo) es la primera indicación del veterinario clínico, ya que es posible encontrar inclusiones intracitoplasmáticas (mórulas) en los monocitos. El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar las alteraciones hematológicas de perros diagnosticados con Ehrlichia spp. por extendido de sangre periférica, y confirmarlo por técnica molecular (PCR). De junio/2021 a julio/2022 se analizaron muestras de perros identificando inclusiones intracitoplasmáticas en siete muestras. Se observó en 6 de 7 muestras de sangre la presencia de anemia y trombocitopenia sin alteraciones del número de leucocitos. La técnica de PCR confirmo el diagnóstico inicial en 2/7 muestras, amplificando el segmento del gen dsb 330/728. Se destaca la utilidad de los parámetros hematológicos junto a la confirmación diagnóstica por la técnica de PCR, siendo esta última, un método altamente sensible y específico, que ofrece hasta un 100% de seguridad en el diagnóstico detectando y amplificando el ADN de Ehrlichia spp

    Technology is evolving at an unbridled pace, some sectors are not failing to keep up with this evolution. It is estimated that the information processed worldwide in the last 2 years represents 90% of the total information ever created. Software is replacing professionals all over the world, mainly in areas such as accounting, routine data processing tasks are performed without human input and automatically. As the audit profession is highly dependent on data analysis, it is important to understand the impact that this evolution will have on the auditor's life. This dissertation aims to describe the audit profession in this context of global technological evolution. The literature review made it possible to fit into important theoretical concepts and understand how these concepts translate into the audit profession. With the empirical study carried out, the objective is to demonstrate the impacts of these new technologies on the auditor's life. The empirical study was supported by a research with a quantitative analysis, through the use of an inquiry. Through this, it was possible to conclude that the new technologies, despite presenting new risks for the external audit, also present themselves as an opportunity to develop works with more quality and efficiency.A tecnologia está a evoluir a um ritmo desenfreado, alguns setores não estão a conseguir acompanhar esta evolução. Estima-se que a informação processada mundialmente nos últimos 2 anos representa 90% do total de informação alguma vez criada. Softwares estão a substituir profissionais pelo mundo inteiro, principalmente em áreas como a contabilidade, tarefas rotineiras de processamento de dados são desempenhadas sem contributo humano e de forma automática. Sendo a profissão de auditoria altamente dependente de análise de dados é importante perceber o impacto que esta evolução terá na vida do auditor. Esta dissertação tem como finalidade descrever a profissão de auditoria neste contexto de evolução tecnológica global. A revisão de literatura efetuada permitiu enquadrar em importantes conceitos teóricos e perceber como esses conceitos se traduzem para a profissão de auditoria. Com o estudo empírico realizado, procurou-se demonstrar os impactos destas novas tecnologias na vida do auditor. O estudo empírico suportou-se numa pesquisa com uma análise quantitativa, através da utilização de um inquérito. Através deste, foi possível concluir que as novas tecnologias apesar de apresentarem novos riscos para a auditoria externa, também se apresentam como uma oportunidade para desenvolver trabalhos com mais qualidade e eficiência

    Open Issues on the Synthesis of Evolved Stellar Populations at Ultraviolet Wavelengths

    In this paper we briefly review three topics that have motivated our (and others') investigations in recent years within the context of evolutionary population synthesis techniques. These are: The origin of the FUV up-turn in elliptical galaxies, the age-metallicity degeneracy, and the study of the mid-UV rest-frame spectra of distant red galaxies. We summarize some of our results and present a very preliminary application of a UV grid of theoretical spectra in the analysis of integrated properties of aged stellar populations.     Search for direct production of charginos and neutralinos in events with three leptons and missing transverse momentum in √s = 7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with three electrons or muons and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is based on 4.7 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector. Observations are consistent with Standard Model expectations in three signal regions that are either depleted or enriched in Z-boson decays. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric models and in simplified models, significantly extending previous results

    Jet size dependence of single jet suppression in lead-lead collisions at sqrt(s(NN)) = 2.76 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC

    Measurements of inclusive jet suppression in heavy ion collisions at the LHC provide direct sensitivity to the physics of jet quenching. In a sample of lead-lead collisions at sqrt(s) = 2.76 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 7 inverse microbarns, ATLAS has measured jets with a calorimeter over the pseudorapidity interval |eta| < 2.1 and over the transverse momentum range 38 < pT < 210 GeV. Jets were reconstructed using the anti-kt algorithm with values for the distance parameter that determines the nominal jet radius of R = 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5. The centrality dependence of the jet yield is characterized by the jet "central-to-peripheral ratio," Rcp. Jet production is found to be suppressed by approximately a factor of two in the 10% most central collisions relative to peripheral collisions. Rcp varies smoothly with centrality as characterized by the number of participating nucleons. The observed suppression is only weakly dependent on jet radius and transverse momentum. These results provide the first direct measurement of inclusive jet suppression in heavy ion collisions and complement previous measurements of dijet transverse energy imbalance at the LHC.Comment: 15 pages plus author list (30 pages total), 8 figures, 2 tables, submitted to Physics Letters B.     Flavor Production in Pb(160AGeV) on Pb Collisions: Effect of Color Ropes and Hadronic Rescattering

    Collective interactions in the preequilibrium quark matter and hadronic resonance gas stage of ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions are studied in the framework of the the transport theoretical approach RQMD. The paper reviews string fusion into color ropes and hadronic rescattering which serve as models for these interactions. Hadron production in central Pb(160AGeV) on Pb collisions has been calculated. The changes of the final flavor composition are more pronounced than in previous RQMD studies of light ion induced reactions at 200AGeV. The ratio of created quark pairs ssˉs\bar{s}/(uuˉu\bar{u}+ddˉd\bar{d}) is enhanced by a factor of 2.4 in comparison to pppp results. Color rope formation increases the initially produced antibaryons to 3 times the value in the `NN mode', but only one quarter of the produced antibaryons survives because of subsequent strong absorption. The differences in the final particle composition for Pb on Pb collisions compared to S induced reactions are attributed to the hadronic resonance gas stage which is baryon-richer and lasts longer.Comment: 60 pages + 11 postscript figures (uuencoded and included

    Ideal cardiovascular health and inflammation in European adolescents: The HELENA study

    Background and aims Inflammation plays a key role in atherosclerosis and this process seems to appear in childhood. The ideal cardiovascular health index (ICHI) has been inversely related to atherosclerotic plaque in adults. However, evidence regarding inflammation and ICHI in adolescents is scarce. The aim is to assess the association between ICHI and inflammation in European adolescents. Methods and results As many as 543 adolescents (251 boys and 292 girls) from the Healthy Lifestyle in Europe by Nutrition in Adolescence (HELENA) study, a cross-sectional multi-center study including 9 European countries, were measured. C-reactive protein (CRP), complement factors C3 and C4, leptin and white blood cell counts were used to compute an inflammatory score. Multilevel linear models and multilevel logistic regression were used to assess the association between ICHI and inflammation controlling by covariates. Higher ICHI was associated with a lower inflammatory score, as well as with several individual components, both in boys and girls (p < 0.01). In addition, adolescents with at least 4 ideal components of the ICHI had significantly lower inflammatory score and lower levels of the study biomarkers, except CRP. Finally, the multilevel logistic regression showed that for every unit increase in the ICHI, the probability of having an inflammatory profile decreased by 28.1% in girls. Conclusion Results from this study suggest that a better ICHI is associated with a lower inflammatory profile already in adolescence. Improving these health behaviors, and health factors included in the ICHI, could play an important role in CVD prevention

    Assessment of plasma chitotriosidase activity, CCL18/PARC concentration and NP-C suspicion index in the diagnosis of Niemann-Pick disease type C: A prospective observational study

    Background: Niemann-Pick disease type C (NP-C) is a rare, autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disease caused by mutations in either the NPC1 or NPC2 genes. The diagnosis of NP-C remains challenging due to the non-specific, heterogeneous nature of signs/symptoms. This study assessed the utility of plasma chitotriosidase (ChT) and Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 18 (CCL18)/pulmonary and activation-regulated chemokine (PARC) in conjunction with the NP-C suspicion index (NP-C SI) for guiding confirmatory laboratory testing in patients with suspected NP-C. Methods: In a prospective observational cohort study, incorporating a retrospective determination of NP-C SI scores, two different diagnostic approaches were applied in two separate groups of unrelated patients from 51 Spanish medical centers (n = 118 in both groups). From Jan 2010 to Apr 2012 (Period 1), patients with =2 clinical signs/symptoms of NP-C were considered ''suspected NP-C'' cases, and NPC1/NPC2 sequencing, plasma chitotriosidase (ChT), CCL18/PARC and sphingomyelinase levels were assessed. Based on findings in Period 1, plasma ChT and CCL18/PARC, and NP-C SI prediction scores were determined in a second group of patients between May 2012 and Apr 2014 (Period 2), and NPC1 and NPC2 were sequenced only in those with elevated ChT and/or elevated CCL18/PARC and/or NP-C SI =70. Filipin staining and 7-ketocholesterol (7-KC) measurements were performed in all patients with NP-C gene mutations, where possible. Results: In total across Periods 1 and 2, 10/236 (4%) patients had a confirmed diagnosis o NP-C based on gene sequencing (5/118 4.2%] in each Period): all of these patients had two causal NPC1 mutations. Single mutant NPC1 alleles were detected in 8/236 (3%) patients, overall. Positive filipin staining results comprised three classical and five variant biochemical phenotypes. No NPC2 mutations were detected. All patients with NPC1 mutations had high ChT activity, high CCL18/PARC concentrations and/or NP-C SI scores =70. Plasma 7-KC was higher than control cut-off values in all patients with two NPC1 mutations, and in the majority of patients with single mutations. Family studies identified three further NP-C patients. Conclusion: This approach may be very useful for laboratories that do not have mass spectrometry facilities and therefore, they cannot use other NP-C biomarkers for diagnosis
