The Portrayal of the Neighbour and the Neighbourhood in Macedonian Graphic Literature and Comic Book Culture
The Portrayal of the Neighbour and the Neighbourhood in Macedonian Graphic Literature and Comic Book Culture
In this article we analyze the portrayal of the neighbour and the neighbourhood in the Macedonian graphic stories of the Nikad robom (Never a Slave) comic book edition. It was not only one of the most influential mass and pop culture phenomena in exYugoslavia, but it also participated in the ideological shaping of images and depictions of the neighbour and the neighbourhood as special types of sociopolitical and identity cogitations. The comic book, as a graphic story and a dominant pop culture phenomenon in the 1950s and 1960s, had strong ideological and political power in the processes of legitimizing the dominant social values. Within said processes, we have located several key representations and images of the neighbour in this edition which not only reveal the influence of the political and ideological factors in the shaping of national identities but also participate in the process of (re)creation and consolidation of Macedonian selfawareness as distinct from that of its neighbours. The building of the Macedonian identity, as an articulated story of itself, is largely based on perceptions and representations of and feelings for the neighbour. Hence, we come to the assumption that the portrayal of the neighbour is a type of selfportrait.
Obraz sąsiada i sąsiedztwa w macedońskiej literaturze graficznej i kulturze komiksowej
W artykule analizie poddany został obraz sąsiada i sąsiedztwa w macedońskich opowieściach graficznych Nikad robom (Nigdy niewolnikiem). XX wieku – miał silną ideologiczną i polityczną władzę w procesach legitymizacji dominujących wartości społecznych.
Extension of random-phase approximation preserving energy weighted sum rules: an application to a 3-level Lipkin model
A limitation common to all extensions of random-phase approximation including
only particle-hole configurations is that they violate to some extent the
energy weighted sum rules. Considering one such extension, the improved RPA
(IRPA), already used to study the electronic properties of metallic clusters,
we show how it can be generalized in order to eliminate this drawback. This is
achieved by enlarging the configuration space, including also elementary
excitations corresponding to the annihilation of a particle (hole) and the
creation of another particle (hole) on the correlated ground state. The
approach is tested within a solvable 3-level model.Comment: 2 figure
The Pauli principle, QRPA and the two-neutrino double beta decay
We examine the violation of the Pauli exclusion principle in the
Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (QRPA) calculation of the two-neutrino
double beta decay matrix elements, which has its origin in the quasi-boson
approximation. For that purpose we propose a new renormalized QRPA with
proton-neutron pairing method (full-RQRPA) for nuclear structure studies, which
includes ground state correlation beyond the QRPA. This is achieved by using of
renormalized quasi-boson approximation, in which the Pauli exclusion principle
is taken into account more carefully. The full-RQRPA has been applied to
two-neutrino double beta decay of , , and
. The nuclear matrix elements have been found significantly less
sensitive to the increasing strength of particle-particle interaction in the
physically interesting region in comparison with QRPA results. The strong
differences between the results of both methods indicate that the Pauli
exclusion principle plays an important role in the evaluation of the double
beta decay. The inclusion of the Pauli principle removes the difficulties with
the strong dependence on the particle-particle strength in the QRPA on
the two-neutrino double beta decay.Comment: Accepted for publication in Nucl. Phys. A, 22 pages, including 5

Fully-Renormalized QRPA fulfills Ikeda sum rule exactly
The renormalized quasiparticle-RPA is reformulated for even-even nuclei using
restrictions imposed by the commutativity of the phonon creation operator with
the total particle number operator. This new version, Fully-Renormalized QRPA
(FR-QRPA), is free from the spurious low-energy solutions. Analytical proof is
given that the Ikeda sum rule is fullfiled within the FR-QRPA.Comment: 9 page
Self-Consistent Quasi-Particle RPA for the Description of Superfluid Fermi Systems
Self-Consistent Quasi-Particle RPA (SCQRPA) is for the first time applied to
a more level pairing case. Various filling situations and values for the
coupling constant are considered. Very encouraging results in comparison with
the exact solution of the model are obtained. The nature of the low lying mode
in SCQRPA is identified. The strong reduction of the number fluctuation in
SCQRPA vs BCS is pointed out. The transition from superfluidity to the normal
fluid case is carefully investigated.Comment: 23 pages, 18 figures and 1 table, submitted to Phys. Rev.
