We have already received about fifty definite com­mitments of papers for the regular sessions and about 10 invitational papers for the special panel on"Optimizing the Soil Physical Environment Towards Greater Crop Yields", We are now in the process of work., ng out the schedule of the symposium.lt will consist of three days of regular ses­sions and one day for the special panel as follows: 1971 Morning Afternoon Evening Sunday,, 29 August from 2 p m Registration Festive Opening Monday, 30 August Working Session Working Session Meet the Israeli at Home Tuesday,31 August Working Session Working Session Concert or Theatre Wednesday,! A pre-conference pedological tour of the soils of Israel, including the major soil associations in the Mediterranean, semi arid and desert regions will tame piace on Satruday, 28, August, 1971, PTO Organizing Committee c/o Dr. S. Gairon, P.O.B. 15. Rehovot, Israel. II. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1,2, and 3 September, 1971, a three-day post-congress trip, which will highlight examples of Israelis land types, agricultural and irrigation development projects and last but not least - major sites of historical interest in the Holy Land. With reference to the publication of the proceedings, we would like to inform you that an editorial board has been set up, con­sisting of: D. Swartzendruber (USA) P E. Rijtema (Holland) M.
