Linear circuit analysis program for IBM 1620 Monitor 2, 1311/1443 data processing system /CIRCS/

    Get PDF
CIRCS is modification of IBSNAP Circuit Analysis Program, for use on smaller systems. This data processing system retains the basic dc, transient analysis, and FORTRAN 2 formats. It can be used on the IBM 1620/1311 Monitor I Mod 5 system, and solves a linear network containing 15 nodes and 45 branches

Identity as Theory and Method for Ethnic Studies

    Get PDF
The question of identity is fundamental to human life. Who am I, as a biological and psychological being; as a member of a human group with a particular style and history; as a participant in the common human values, perceptions, and processes which transcend any particular group? Ethnic studies should have as its focus the whole human being, articulated in the biological, socio/cultural, and psycho/personal categories, and the methodology for ethnic studies should reflect the process by which people live and move within the named categories. The interaction of people who are self-consciously engaged in exploring their lives biologically, culturally, and personally, and the articulation of the boundaries at which these interactions take place, determines the scope and content of ethnic studies

GSK Contemporary – Aware: Art Fashion Identity

The Royal Academy of Arts presented GSK Contemporary 2010, the third season of contemporary art at 6 Burlington Gardens. GSK Contemporary – Aware: Art Fashion Identity focused on how artists and a number of designers examine clothing as a mechanism to communicate and reveal elements of our identity. The exhibition contained work by over 30 international contemporary artists and designers, including some newly commissioned work, and occupied the main galleries of the Royal Academy’s 6 Burlington Gardens building. As assistant curator, Daniela Hatfield assisted in the design and organisation of a series of Salon Conversations to accompany the event. Cake and conversation featured at these salons, where the audience joined practitioners from the realms of art, fashion, sociology, performance, journalism, and fashion image-making to explore themes provoked by ‘Aware’, and to discuss ways in which fashion and art are presented, consumed, understood, respected, or reviled

Thesis (M.A.) University of Alaska Fairbanks, 2017This study illuminates the many abilities of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). One area of importance includes the UAV's capability to assist in the development, implementation, and execution of crisis management. This research focuses on UAV uses in pre and post crisis planning and accomplishments. The accompaniment of unmanned vehicles with base teams can make crisis management plans more reliable for the general public and teams faced with tasks such as search and rescue and firefighting. In the fight for mass acceptance of UAV integration, knowledge and attitude inventories were collected and analyzed. Methodology includes mixed method research collected by interviews and questionnaires available to experts and ground teams in the UAV fields, mining industry, firefighting and police force career field, and general city planning crisis management members. This information was compiled to assist professionals in creation of general guidelines and recommendations for how to utilize UAVs in crisis management planning and implementation as well as integration of UAVs into the educational system. The results from this study show the benefits and disadvantages of strategically giving UAVs a role in the construction and implementation of crisis management plans and other areas of interest. The results also show that the general public is lacking information and education on the abilities of UAVs. This education gap shows a correlation with negative attitudes towards UAVs. Educational programs to teach the public benefits of UAV integration should be implemented

Defining Petrophysical Units of the Palmer Deep Sites from Leg 178

    Get PDF
Palmer Deep, on the inner continental shelf southwest of Anvers Island off the Antarctic Peninsula, is a glacially overdeepened basin consisting of three subbasins. Two sites, 1098 and 1099, were drilled in the Palmer Deep area. A high-resolution porosity curve has been calculated from density data and subsequently plotted against the shipboard lithologic logs. These new data correspond accurately to the lithologic logs, magnetic susceptibility, and gamma ray attenuation (GRA) density data and offer information on the heterogeneity of the sediments. Petrophysical groups have been generated to investigate interrelationships between different physical attributes. To develop these petrophysical groups, crossplots of the available physical properties data were performed. The results for the GRA density and magnetic susceptibility crossplots demonstrate distinct clusters. Plotting the magnetic susceptibility and GRA density data logs (divided into these new petrophysical groups) against lithology provided information to subdivide the lithologic unit(s) into a series of petrophysical units
