    Effects of honey-supplemented diet on the parasitemia and some enzymes of Trypanosoma brucei-infected rats

    Trypanosoma brucei-infected rats were treated with natural honey and honey-supplemented diet at three days before infection (prophylaxis), early and late stages of infection. Proximate percentage composition of the honey was 71.19±0.90% carbohydrate, 3.28±0.05% protein and 10.68±0.27% lipid among others. Prophylactic treatment with natural honey extended the lifespan of infected rats by 13 extra days from a control of 12 days post infection while early and late stage treatments extended the lifespan by 10 and 5 days, respectively. Prophylactic feeding with honey-supplemented diet extended the lifespan by 6 extra days while early and late stage feeding extended it for 5 and 3 days, respectively. A specific pattern could not be established for alkaline phosphatase (ALP), glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) and glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) enzyme activities in the liver and serum. We conclude that honey even as part of a regular diet could be a useful, cheap and readily presentable agent in the management of African sleeping sickness for residents of disease endemicarea

    Performance of the CMS Cathode Strip Chambers with Cosmic Rays

    The Cathode Strip Chambers (CSCs) constitute the primary muon tracking device in the CMS endcaps. Their performance has been evaluated using data taken during a cosmic ray run in fall 2008. Measured noise levels are low, with the number of noisy channels well below 1%. Coordinate resolution was measured for all types of chambers, and fall in the range 47 microns to 243 microns. The efficiencies for local charged track triggers, for hit and for segments reconstruction were measured, and are above 99%. The timing resolution per layer is approximately 5 ns

This research was conducted at BNI branch of State University of Jakarta, for seven months starting from June 2017 until December 2017. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between service quality, customer relationship management and service quality with customer loyalty bank BNI Branch Office of the State University of Jakarta on Business education student of Jakarta State University. The research method used is survey method with quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling technique of 120 people. The resulting regression equation is Ŷ = 52,950 + 0,830 X1 + 0,924 X2 + 0,557 X3. Testing analysis by Kolmogorov Smirnov test with the test results can be known Asymp value. The rest of the variable is 0.396. it can be concluded that this is greater than 0.05 so that the overall data is normal. Then t test result of tcount 3,435> ttabel 1,980 for customer satisfaction (X1) thereby can be concluded positive and significant relationship between customer satisfaction with customer loyalty (Y), test result of result tcount 1,987> ttable 1,980 for customer relationship management ( X2) thereby can be concluded positive and significant relationship between customer relationship management with customer loyalty (Y), and test result of result of tcount 2,582> ttable 1,980 for service quality (X3) thereby can be concluded from existence of positive and significant relation between quality of service with customer loyalty (Y). Coefficient of determination of 32.2 for customer satisfaction, 53.2 for customer relationship management and 41.9 for service quality. Then it can be concluded by customer loyalty determined by customer satisfaction, customer relationship management and service quality. 46.5% and 53.5% were determined by other variables that were not input into the study

    Penelitian ini dilakukan di BNI cabang Universitas Negeri Jakarta, selama tujuh bulan terhitung sejak Juni 2017 sampai dengan Desember 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas pelayanan, customer relationship management dan kualitas pelayanan dengan loyalitas nasabah nasabah bank BNI Kantor Cabang Universitas Negeri Jakarta pada Mahasiswa pendidikan bisnis Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 120 orang. Persamaan regresi yang dihasilkan adalah Ŷ = 52,950 + 0,830 X1 + 0,924 X2 + 0,557 X3. Uji persyaratan analisis yaitu uji normalitas dengan menggunakan uji Kolmogorov Smirnov dengan hasil pengujian dapat diketahui nilai Asymp. Sig nilai residual dari keseluruhan variabel adalah 0,396. maka dapat di simpulkan bahwa nilai tersebut lebih besar dari 0,05 sehingga keseluruhan data dianggap normal. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji t didapatkan hasil thitung 3,435 > ttabel 1,980 untuk kepuasan nasabah (X1) dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kepuasan nasabah dengan loyalitas nasabah (Y), dilakukan uji t didapatkan hasil thitung 1,987 > ttabel 1,980 untuk customer relationship management (X2) dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara customer relationship management dengan loyalitas nasabah (Y), dan dilakukan uji t didapatkan hasil thitung 2,582 > ttabel 1,980 untuk kualitas pelayanan (X3) dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kualitas pelayanan dengan loyalitas nasabah (Y). Koefisien determinasi yang diperoleh sebesar 32,2 untuk kepuasan nasabah, 53,2 untuk customer relationship management dan 41,9 untuk kualitas pelayanan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa loyalitas nasabah ditentukan oleh kepuasan nasabah, customer relationship management dan kualitas pelayanan sebesar 46,5% dan sebesar 53,5% di tentukan oleh variabel lain yang tidak di masukan kedalam penelitian

    Usaha mikro di bidang kuliner tradisional sering menghadapi tantangan dalam menarik minat konsumen karena kurangnya perhatian terhadap visual branding dan penyajian informasi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk membantu pemilik warung soto dan sayur meningkatkan daya tarik usahanya melalui strategi rebranding dan penyusunan daftar menu dan harga yang informatif dan menarik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif, yang mencakup observasi, diskusi perancangan, implementasi rebranding, serta pelatihan singkat kepada pemilik usaha. Hasil kegiatan menu dan harga menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam daya tarik visual warung melalui pemasangan banner baru dan penyediaan daftar menu dan harga yang terstruktur. Respon positif dari pemilik usaha dan pelanggan mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan kesadaran terhadap pentingnya branding serta pertumbuhan dalam jumlah pelanggan dan pendapatan harian. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan visual dan informasional yang tepat terbukti efektif dalam mendorong peningkatan performa usaha kecil, serta memberikan pembelajaran praktis dalam penerapan ilmu kewirausahaan di masyarakat

    Development and Validation of Analytical Method for Losartan-Copper Complex Using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry

    Purpose: To develop a new spectrophotometric method for the analysis of losartan potassium in pharmaceutical formulations by making its complex with copper.Method: A coloured complex based on UV/Vis spectroscopic method was developed for the determination of losartan potassium concentration in pharmaceutical formulations in the visible region. The colored complex of losartan was formed with cupric acetate (5:4). Analysis was carried out by the two methods - absorption ratio and calibration curve methods. The proposed method was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy and precision.Results: The λ maximum of the complex was recorded at 530 nm. Beer`s law was obeyed in the range of 10 - 50 μg/ml with a correlation coefficient (r2) of 0.9989. Mean analytical results from the calibration curve and absorption ratio methods were 99.42 and 99.16 % with relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.97 and 0.82 %, respectively. Mean recovery was between 98.61 and 101.35 % and precision expressed as relative standard deviation (RSD) was 0.91 %.Conclusion: The proposed method is simple, easy to apply, low-cost, and requires relatively inexpensive instruments. Thus, it is a suitable alternative to currently used spectrophotometric methods for the determination of losartan in bulk and solid dosage forms.Keywords: Losartan, Copper complex, Spectrophotometry, Validatio

    Measurements of the pp → ZZ production cross section and the Z → 4ℓ branching fraction, and constraints on anomalous triple gauge couplings at √s = 13 TeV

    Four-lepton production in proton-proton collisions, pp -> (Z/gamma*)(Z/gamma*) -> 4l, where l = e or mu, is studied at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). The ZZ production cross section, sigma(pp -> ZZ) = 17.2 +/- 0.5 (stat) +/- 0.7 (syst) +/- 0.4 (theo) +/- 0.4 (lumi) pb, measured using events with two opposite-sign, same-flavor lepton pairs produced in the mass region 60 4l) = 4.83(-0.22)(+0.23) (stat)(-0.29)(+0.32) (syst) +/- 0.08 (theo) +/- 0.12(lumi) x 10(-6) for events with a four-lepton invariant mass in the range 80 4GeV for all opposite-sign, same-flavor lepton pairs. The results agree with standard model predictions. The invariant mass distribution of the four-lepton system is used to set limits on anomalous ZZZ and ZZ. couplings at 95% confidence level: -0.0012 < f(4)(Z) < 0.0010, -0.0010 < f(5)(Z) < 0.0013, -0.0012 < f(4)(gamma) < 0.0013, -0.0012 < f(5)(gamma) < 0.0013
