    Implementation of a school garden as a strategic tool to promote investigation

    El presente artículo se enfoca en la creación de una huerta escolar como herramienta de investigación que tiene por objetivo comprender el conocimiento de los estudiantes frente a temáticas medio ambientales, observando su influencia en la medida de que alternativas de solución se proponen para el mejoramiento del posible déficit motivacional presente en la población estudiada. Se realizó un estudio de carácter cualitativo de nivel descriptivo con un diseño fenomenológico, se utilizaron técnicas como la observación y la población estudiada fue de doce (12) estudiantes de décimo grado y padres de familia de la I.E.D Técnica Agroecológica José Dadul de Bahía Honda, Pedraza (Magdalena). A partir de la implementación de las actividades se encontró que para el desarrollo de las mismas existieron limitantes, como; falta de interés de padres de familia, quienes actuaban como acompañantes de los estudiantes participantes, falta de espacio y tiempo, cese de actividades académicas, entre otros; sin embargo, se logró aumentar la motivación tanto de padres de familia como de estudiantes a través de la investigación y el uso de estrategias contemporáneasThis article focuses on the creation of a school garden as a research tool that aims to understand students’ knowledge about environmental issues, observing their influence to the extent that alternative solutions are proposed for the improvement of the possible motivational deficit present in the studied population.     A multi-country test of brief reappraisal interventions on emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The COVID-19 pandemic has increased negative emotions and decreased positive emotions globally. Left unchecked, these emotional changes might have a wide array of adverse impacts. To reduce negative emotions and increase positive emotions, we tested the effectiveness of reappraisal, an emotion-regulation strategy that modifies how one thinks about a situation. Participants from 87 countries and regions (n = 21,644) were randomly assigned to one of two brief reappraisal interventions (reconstrual or repurposing) or one of two control conditions (active or passive). Results revealed that both reappraisal interventions (vesus both control conditions) consistently reduced negative emotions and increased positive emotions across different measures. Reconstrual and repurposing interventions had similar effects. Importantly, planned exploratory analyses indicated that reappraisal interventions did not reduce intentions to practice preventive health behaviours. The findings demonstrate the viability of creating scalable, low-cost interventions for use around the world
