Dimethyl hydrazine-1,2-dicarboxylate–triphenylphosphine oxide (1/1)
In the crystal structure of the title compound, C4H8N2O4·C18H15OP, two triphenylphosphine oxide molecules and two dimethyl hydrazine-1,2-dicarboxylate molecules are connected via N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds of moderate strength and are related via a twofold rotational axis. Weak Car—H⋯ O contacts strengthen the crystal structure
2,6-Anhydro-1,3-di-O-benzyl-d-mannitol
In the title compound, C20H24O5, the six-membered pyranose ring adopts a chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the planes of the phenyl groups of the benzyl substituents is 63.1°. Two types of intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of infinite chains along the b axis. Only weak C—H⋯O contacts exist between neighboring chains
3-Deoxy-1,2-di-O-isopropylidene-5-O-tosyl-d-threo-pentofuranose
In the crystal structure of the title compound, C15H20O6S, the two independent molecules crystalllize in a chiral setting with two different conformations, twisted 4
T
3 and envelope 4
E, for the furanose rings. Weak C—H⋯O contacts strengthen the crystal structure
3′-O-Acetyl-2′-deoxyuridine
In the two independent but very similar molecules of the title compound, C11H14N2O6, both nucleobase fragments are nearly planar (both within 0.01 Å) while the furanose rings exhibit 2
E-endo envelope conformations. In the crystal, the two 3′-O-acetyl-2′-deoxyuridine molecules form a pseudosymmetric dimer of two bases connected via two nearly identical resonance-assisted N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The resulting pair is further connected with neighboring pairs via two similar O—H⋯O bonds involving the only hydroxyl group of the 2′-deoxyfuranose fragment and the remaining carbonyl oxygen of the nucleobase. These interactions result in the formation of an infinite ‘double band’ along the b axis that can be considered as a self-assembled analogue of a polynucleotide molecule with non-canonical Watson–Crick base pairs. The infinite chains of 3′-O-acetyl-2′-deoxyuridine pairs are additionally held together by C—H⋯O interactions involving C atoms of the uracyl base and O atoms of carbonyl groups. Only weak C—H⋯O contacts exist between neighboring chains
Antiferromagnetic and van Hove Scenarios for the Cuprates: Taking the Best of Both Worlds
A theory for the high temperature superconductors is proposed. Holes are
spin-1/2, charge e, quasiparticles strongly dressed by spin fluctuations. Based
on their dispersion, it is claimed that the experimentally observed van Hove
singularities of the cuprates are likely originated by antiferromagnetic (AF)
correlations. From the two carriers problem in the 2D t-J model, an effective
Hamiltonian for holes is defined with %no free parameters. This effective model
has superconductivity in the channel, a critical
temperature at the optimal hole density, ,
and a quasiparticle lifetime linearly dependent with energy. Other experimental
results are also reproduced by the theory.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures (on request), RevTeX (version 3.0), preprint

Measurement of charm production at central rapidity in proton-proton collisions at TeV
The -differential production cross sections of the prompt (B
feed-down subtracted) charmed mesons D, D, and D in the rapidity
range , and for transverse momentum GeV/, were
measured in proton-proton collisions at TeV with the ALICE
detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis exploited the hadronic
decays DK, DK, DD, and their charge conjugates, and was performed on a
nb event sample collected in 2011 with a
minimum-bias trigger. The total charm production cross section at TeV and at 7 TeV was evaluated by extrapolating to the full phase space
the -differential production cross sections at TeV
and our previous measurements at TeV. The results were compared
to existing measurements and to perturbative-QCD calculations. The fraction of
cdbar D mesons produced in a vector state was also determined.Comment: 20 pages, 5 captioned figures, 4 tables, authors from page 15,

KK correlations in pp collisions at TeV from the LHC ALICE experiment
Identical neutral kaon pair correlations are measured in TeV pp
collisions in the ALICE experiment. One-dimensional KK correlation
functions in terms of the invariant momentum difference of kaon pairs are
formed in two multiplicity and two transverse momentum ranges. The femtoscopic
parameters for the radius and correlation strength of the kaon source are
extracted. The ft includes quantum statistics and final-state
interactions of the a/f resonance. KK correlations show an
increase in radius for increasing multiplicity and a slight decrease in radius
for increasing transverse mass, , as seen in correlations
in the pp system and in heavy-ion collisions. Transverse mass scaling is
observed between the KK and radii. Also, the frst
observation is made of the decay of the f(1525) meson into the
KK channel in pp collisions.Comment: 17 pages, 7 captioned figures, 2 tables, authors from page 12,

Multiplicity dependence of (anti-)deuteron production in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
none1019siIn this letter, the production of deuterons and anti-deuterons in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV is studied as a function of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity with the ALICE detector at the LHC. Production yields are measured at mid-rapidity in five multiplicity classes and as a function of the deuteron transverse momentum (p(T)). The measurements are discussed in the context of hadron-coalescence models. The coalescence parameter B-2, extracted from the measured spectra of (anti-)deuteronsand primary (anti-)protons, exhibits no significant p(T)-dependence for p(T) < 3 GeV/c, in agreement with the expectations of a simple coalescence picture. At fixed transverse momentum per nucleon, the B-2 parameter is found to decrease smoothly from low multiplicity pp to Pb-Pb collisions, in qualitative agreement with more elaborate coalescence models. The measured mean transverse momentum of (anti-)deuterons in pp is not reproduced by the Blast-Wave model calculations that simultaneously describe pion, kaon and proton spectra, in contrast to central Pb-Pb collisions. The ratio between the p(T)-integrated yield of deuterons to protons, d/p, is found to increase with the charged-particle multiplicity, as observed in inelastic pp collisions at different centre-of-mass energies. The d/p ratios are reported in a wide range, from the lowest to the highest multiplicity values measured in pp collisions at the LHC. (C) 2019 The Author(s). Application of quantum crystallography methods to structures of macrocyclic 3d-transition metal complexes
The vast majority of complex structures are currently accomplished using the Independent Atom Model (IAM), in which atoms are assumed to be spherical, and no chemical bonds exist. Emerging quantum crystallography methods process the same experimental data in better approximation, allowing for deformation of electron density resulting from different types of chemical bonds. This presentation provides several examples of macrocyclic complexes of Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu refined using Tonto and NoSpherA2 software packages. The most visible improvement over existing IAM procedures is reasonable positions of hydrogen atoms; the precision of bond distances is also significantly improved.https://digitalcommons.buffalostate.edu/fsrcf_nss/1008/thumbnail.jp
