PROYECTO TRANSNACIONAL DE PROMOCIÓN Y PUESTA EN VALOR DE LA RESERVA DE LA BIOSFERA TRANSFRONTERIZA MESETA IBÉRICA

    Get PDF

    Post-Franco Theatre

    Get PDF
In the multiple realms and layers that comprise the contemporary Spanish theatrical landscape, “crisis” would seem to be the word that most often lingers in the air, as though it were a common mantra, ready to roll off the tongue of so many theatre professionals with such enormous ease, and even enthusiasm, that one is prompted to wonder whether it might indeed be a miracle that the contemporary technological revolution – coupled with perpetual quandaries concerning public and private funding for the arts – had not by now brought an end to the evolution of the oldest of live arts, or, at the very least, an end to drama as we know it

This study aimed to describe the change in surgical practice and the impact of SARS-CoV-2 on mortality after surgical resection of colorectal cancer during the initial phases of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic

Analysis of the adhesion of titanium and carbon-diamond coatings on 3D printed textured surfaces

The importance of coatings in engineering has been predominant throughout the development of the new industrial era. The competitiveness of the field has led to the development of better materials that achieve superior properties. The purpose of this research is evaluating the adhesion to the surfaces coated by magnetron sputtering technique. The adherence quality of the deposited coatings on specimens was evaluated adhesion by scratch and indentation tests guided according to standards, using the Tribolab UMT at constant load. The results obtained allow validating of the additive manufacturing process as possible mechanicals applications

High temperature ferromagnetism in a GdAg2 monolayer

et al.Materials that exhibit ferromagnetism, interfacial stability, and tunability are highly desired for the realization of emerging magnetoelectronic phenomena in heterostructures. Here we present the GdAg monolayer alloy, which possesses all such qualities. By combining X-ray absorption, Kerr effect, and angle-resolved photoemission with ab initio calculations, we have investigated the ferromagnetic nature of this class of Gd-based alloys. The Curie temperature can increase from 19 K in GdAu to a remarkably high 85 K in GdAg. We find that the exchange coupling between Gd atoms is barely affected by their full coordination with noble metal atoms, and instead, magnetic coupling is effectively mediated by noble metal-Gd hybrid s,p-d bands. The direct comparison between isostructural GdAu and GdAg monolayers explains how the higher degree of surface confinement and electron occupation of such hybrid s,p-d bands promote the high Curie temperature in the latter. Finally, the chemical composition and structural robustness of the GdAg alloy has been demonstrated by interfacing them with organic semiconductors or magnetic nanodots. These results encourage systematic investigations of rare-earth/noble metal surface alloys and interfaces, in order to exploit them in magnetoelectronic applications. This work was supported by the Spanish Government (MAT2013-46593-C6-4-P, MAT2013-46593-C6-5-P, FIS2013-48286-C02-02-P, FIS2013-48286-C02-01-P), the Basque Government (IT621-13,IT627-13,IT756-13), the Diputación de Gipuzkoa (RF-0061/2015), and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (SFB 1083 “Structure and Dynamics of Internal Interfaces”).
