An Investigation of the Effects of Quantum Dot Nanoparticles on Photopolymer Resin for Use in PolyJet Direct 3D Printing
The addition of quantum dot (QD) nanoparticles to additive manufacturing (AM) media
provides the opportunity to create artifacts with complex geometry that also have unique optical
characteristics. However, the addition of nanoparticles can significantly alter the rheology of a
material and make it difficult to process in an AM context. In this study, quantum dots were
added to a photopolymer resin in varying mass ratios to photopolymer, and their effects on the
viscosity, surface tension, and jetting ability of the suspension were investigated. Results show
that printability was not significantly affected by the presence of quantum dots in mass
concentrations less than or equal to 0.5%. The nanosuspensions were deposited via inkjet to
demonstrate the feasibility of creating optically-unique artifacts.Mechanical Engineerin
EFFECT OF ORGANIC TURMERIC (Curcuma longa) FEEDING ON TESTICULAR HISTOLOGY OF RABBITS EXPOSED TO ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION
Thirty six male rabbits of 450-600g weight range fed with mostly organic ingredient feed, were weight-balanced into six treatment groups that received rabbit diets either without (D1) or with organic turmeric (D2) at varying periods within a nine- week experimental period. The treatments were T0, T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 for control, D2 plus exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) radiation, D2 until radiation, D2 after radiation, D1 throughout the experimental period with UV radiation and D2 throughout the experimental period without UV radiation, respectively. Testicular histology revealed that feeding organic turmeric in the diet before exposure conferred some protection on the testicular tissue while the feeding of organic turmeric in the diet after exposure corrected some of the damage inflicted by exposure to UV radiation. The group (T4) that did not receive organic turmeric showed conspicuous damage in the testicular tissue on exposure to ultraviolet radiation. It was concluded that the inclusion of organic turmeric, simply boiled, dried and powdered in the diet without any sophisticated processing to extract curcumin, could alleviate the histological damage on account of exposure to ultraviolet radiation

Data on the radio metric survey over a kaolinitic terrain in Dahomey Basin,Nigeria
This article consists the insitu data sets of activity concentrations of radio nuclides (K-40,Th-232andU-238) and gamma radiation dose rates measured about 1m above a kaolinitic terrain in Ifo-nyintedo,Dahomey Basin,SW Nigeria.Nineteen(19)data points were randomly occupied at the lower axis of the kaolin field using a hand-held detector known as Super-Spec(RS125).At each data
point, the measurements were taken four times,while their
averages and standard deviations were estimated in order to
ensure accuracy.The radio metric survey was carried out between December,2017andJanuary,2018.The data sets were processed and analyzed via a descriptive statistics. The data can be explored further by estimating the radiological risks to the miners on the
field, and to correlate the activity concentrations of the data with the activity concentrations of the tiles that are produced from the kaolin deposits in Ifonyintedo. Furthermore,the data from this article could be compared with other data acquired over a kaoli-nitic terrain across the glob

Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis of aqueous sugar solutions containing fructose, glucose, sucrose, maltose and lactose
The glass transition of glucose, fructose, lactose, maltose and sucrose solutions at maximum cryo-concentration was studied by Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA), using the disc bending technique. The glass transition temperatures were determined from the peaks in the loss modulus E′′, which corresponds theoretically to the resonance point (Maxwell model) for several input frequencies. The frequency dependence was well described by both an Arrhenius-type model and by the WLF (Williams, Landel and Ferry) equation, yielding glass transition temperatures for an average molecular vibration time of 100 s, which were similar to published midpoint temperatures determined by DSC scans. Some sugar mixtures were studied, yielding results that were well described by the Gordon–Taylor equation, using literature data. The frequency dependence of the viscoelastic ratio was also well approximated by an Arrhenius-type equation, with activation energies similar to those of the glass transition temperature and corresponded well to published values of the endset of glass transition

Search for direct production of charginos and neutralinos in events with three leptons and missing transverse momentum in √s = 7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector
A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with three electrons or muons and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is based on 4.7 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector. Observations are consistent with Standard Model expectations in three signal regions that are either depleted or enriched in Z-boson decays. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric models and in simplified models, significantly extending previous results
