Las motivaciones de los árbitros de fútbol

En el trabajo empírico que a continuación presentamos hemos estudiado las razones por las que los árbitros de fútbol deciden comenzar, mantenerse, cambiar o dejar el arbitraje utilizando el Cuestionario MIMCA administrado a 121 árbitros de distintas categorías pertenecientes al Comité Técnico de árbitros de Fútbol de Las Palmas. Estos colegiados declaran que las principales razones por los que se iniciaron en la actividad arbitral fueron conseguir ciertas metas y divertirse, entre los motivos para seguir arbitrando citan los relacionados con el disfrute de la actividad, con la relación de grupo o con el conocimiento técnico del arbitraje, las razones que les podrían llevar a cambiar a otra actividad o abandonar el arbitraje de fútbol son las relacionadas con la falta de apoyo por parte de los dirigentes arbitrales, las interferencias con los estudios o el trabajo, y las lesiones.In this research we have studied the reasons for which soccer referees decide to begin, to stay, to change or to leave this activity. The Questionnaire MIMCA was administered to 121 referees belonging to different categories of Las Palmas Technical Committee Referees Soccer. These referees declare that the main reasons for which they began in the refereeing activity were «to succeed in getting certain goals» and «to have a good time»; on the other hand, among the reasons to continue are related with the enjoyment of the activity, with the group relationship or with the technical knowledge of the officiating. Lastly, the reasons argued to change to another activity or to abandon soccer officiating are those related with the lack of support on the part of the refereeing leaders, the interferences with the studies or the work, and the injuries

Perfil de personalidad del tenista

El presente trabajo intenta descubrir las características de personalidad del tenista grancanario a partir de la comparación con un grupo de sujetos que practican deportes individuales distintos al tenis y un grupo de sujetos no deportistas. El total de la muestra está constituida por 191 sujetos distribuidos en tres grupos. El grupo de tenistas está formado por 64 sujetos federados en la isla de Gran Canaria, de los cuales 43 son hombres y 21 mujeres; el grupo de deportistas individuales está formado por 63 sujetos, 42 hombres y 21 mujeres y el grupo de no deportistas está formado por 64 sujetos, 41 hombres y 23 mujeres, todos ellos en edades comprendidas entre los 14 y los 25 años de edad. El cuestionario utilizado fue el 16 PF-5 y en el análisis de varianza efectuado se observan tres diferencias significativas en las escalas Apertura-Cambio, Dureza y Manipulación de la imagen. Asimismo, se observan diferencias significativas atendiendo a la variable sexo.The present study sets out to examine the personality characteristics of the Grancanary tennis player through a comparison with a sports group of subjects who practice single sports different from tennis and a non-sports group of subjects. The totality of the sample is composed by 191 subjects separated in three groups. The tennis players group is composed by 64 federated subjects in Gran Canaria island, in which 43 are men and 21 are women; the single sportsmen group is composed by 63 subjects, 42 are men and 21 are women and the non-sports group is composed by 64 subjects, 41 are men and 23 are women, all of them between 14 and 25 years old. The 16 PF-5 was the questionnaire used and the variance analysis shows three meaningful differences: the opening-change, tough-mindedness and impression management scales. Estudio de la violencia juvenil en el Carnaval de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Las agresiones físicas entre jóvenes es un fenómeno antiguo y relativamente frecuente en acontecimientos festivos especialmente cuando se da un patrón colectivo de consumo de alcohol. Pero la violencia de los jóvenes parece haber experimentado un cambio en sus formas de manifestación y las clasificaciones de violencia juvenil más recientes incluyen el término de "violencia gratuita" para denominar los actos violentos que no responden a motivaciones explícitas. Este y otros términos como violencia "sin sentido", "lúdica" y "aleatoria" han sido atribuidos por los medios de comunicación a las agresiones físicas ejercidas por grupos de jóvenes durante las últimas ediciones del Carnaval de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. En este trabajo, realizado como homenaje a Olga Marcos, recogemos una definición de actitud, sus componentes y su formación y estudiamos distintas investigaciones empíricas planteadas en diferentes contextos para extraer algunas conclusiones que nos sirvan de guía en nuestra tarea de formadores de maestros especialistas en la Facultad de Formación de Profesorado, donde ella ha ejercido un magisterio sereno, abnegado y eficiente

La enseñanza y aprendizaje inicial de programación en el contexto de la pandemia

En este trabajo se analizan cuestiones conceptuales que se han apreciado durante el recorrido educativo en la pandemia y su impacto efectivo en la implementación de los cursos universitarios iniciales de Programación en las carreras de Informática. Se discuten las dificultades de alumnos y docentes, así como las diferentes metodologías y tecnologías empleadas para abordar el tema. El “caso de estudio” es significativo porque en el caso de la Facultad de Informática de la UNLP se tienen 2 asignaturas cuatrimestrales, Conceptos de Algoritmos, Datos y Programas y Taller de Programación que reunieron en 2020 más de 1400 alumnos. En las Conclusiones se hace una síntesis de la experiencia, con una mirada de mediano plazo en la que se considera el avance de un sistema de bimodalidad en la educación universitaria, así como la importancia de transformar cuestiones negativas y potenciar los aspectos positivos, en particular en la enseñanza inicial de programación

Differential cross section measurements for the production of a W boson in association with jets in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV

Measurements are reported of differential cross sections for the production of a W boson, which decays into a muon and a neutrino, in association with jets, as a function of several variables, including the transverse momenta (pT) and pseudorapidities of the four leading jets, the scalar sum of jet transverse momenta (HT), and the difference in azimuthal angle between the directions of each jet and the muon. The data sample of pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV was collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb[superscript −1]. The measured cross sections are compared to predictions from Monte Carlo generators, MadGraph + pythia and sherpa, and to next-to-leading-order calculations from BlackHat + sherpa. The differential cross sections are found to be in agreement with the predictions, apart from the pT distributions of the leading jets at high pT values, the distributions of the HT at high-HT and low jet multiplicity, and the distribution of the difference in azimuthal angle between the leading jet and the muon at low values.United States. Juxtaposing BTE and ATE – on the role of the European insurance industry in funding civil litigation

One of the ways in which legal services are financed, and indeed shaped, is through private insurance arrangement. Two contrasting types of legal expenses insurance contracts (LEI) seem to dominate in Europe: before the event (BTE) and after the event (ATE) legal expenses insurance. Notwithstanding institutional differences between different legal systems, BTE and ATE insurance arrangements may be instrumental if government policy is geared towards strengthening a market-oriented system of financing access to justice for individuals and business. At the same time, emphasizing the role of a private industry as a keeper of the gates to justice raises issues of accountability and transparency, not readily reconcilable with demands of competition. Moreover, multiple actors (clients, lawyers, courts, insurers) are involved, causing behavioural dynamics which are not easily predicted or influenced. Against this background, this paper looks into BTE and ATE arrangements by analysing the particularities of BTE and ATE arrangements currently available in some European jurisdictions and by painting a picture of their respective markets and legal contexts. This allows for some reflection on the performance of BTE and ATE providers as both financiers and keepers. Two issues emerge from the analysis that are worthy of some further reflection. Firstly, there is the problematic long-term sustainability of some ATE products. Secondly, the challenges faced by policymakers that would like to nudge consumers into voluntarily taking out BTE LEI
