La Educación global en la clase de inglés : Interculturalidad y pensamiento crítico
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la enseñanza de inglés desde una perspectiva global. La educación global contempla, a su vez, el desarrollo de la competencia intercultural y el pensamiento crítico. The male of Diaphanobezzia patagonica Spinelli & Grogan is described and photographed from specimens collected in association with females in the Somuncura plateau, in the steppe area of central Patagonia. The male herein described is compared with the congeners D. pellucida Ingram & Macfie and D. spinellii Wirth & Grogan. Besides, D. patagonica is recorded from the Laguna Blanca National Park.Se describe e ilustra el macho de Diaphanobezzia patagonica Spinelli & Grogan sobre la base de ejemplares capturados en asociación con hembras en la meseta de Somuncura, en la estepa de la Patagonia central. Recognizing Handshapes using Small Datasets
Advances in convolutional neural networks have made possible significant improvements in the state-of-the-art in image classification.
However, their success on a particular field rests on the possibility of obtaining labeled data to train networks. Handshape recognition from images, an important subtask of both gesture and sign language recognition, suffers from such a lack of data. Furthermore, hands are highly deformable objects and therefore handshape classification models require larger datasets.
We analyze both state of the art models for image classification, as well as data augmentation schemes and specific models to tackle problems with small datasets. In particular, we perform experiments with Wide- DenseNet, a state of the art convolutional architecture and Prototypical Networks, a state of the art few-shot learning meta model. In both cases, we also quantify the impact of data augmentation on accuracy.
Our results show that on small and simple data sets such as CIARP, all models and variations of achieve perfect accuracy, and therefore the utility of the data is highly doubtful, despite its having 6000 samples.
On the other hand, in small but complex datasets such as LSA16 (800 samples), specialized methods such as Prototypical Networks do have an advantage over other methods. On RWTH, another complex and small dataset with close to 4000 samples, a traditional and state-of-the-art method such as Wide-DenseNet surpasses all other models. Lacan y Foucault en la cárcel
En el presente trabajo proponemos una lectura alternativa del trabajo que realizan los psicólogos en unidades carcelarias, considerando dos ejes teóricos: el texto de Jacques Lacan Subversión del sujeto y dialéctica del deseo y el de Michel Foucault Los anormales. En ambos encontramos un planteo respecto del sujeto que se supone a un discurso, lo que permitirá un cambio de paradigma.
Se trata de pensar el pasaje de la figura del experto convocada institucionalmente, a la posición de analista. La hipótesis es que el cambio de paradigma, ofrecerá mayor eficacia en tareas de clasificación y de asistencia. En lugar de las teorías psicológicas, que abordan al individuo, la conducta, y que consideran una unidad donde lo psíquico recubre lo somático, proponemos como marco teórico el psicoanálisis desarrollado por Lacan. Considerando su conceptualización del inconsciente estructurado como un lenguaje. El psicoanálisis puede ofrecer una perspectiva más eficaz, frente a la demanda jurídico social de una práctica vinculada a la readaptación, a la culpabilización y a una modalidad de reeducación. En otras palabras, la posición de un psicoanalista en la institución penal supone ir más allá de la confesión punición y readaptación del delito, es decir, pasar del criminal al sujeto del inconsciente.In the present work we propose an alternative reading of the work that the psychologists make in prison units, considering two axes theoretical: the text of Jacques Lacan “Subversion of the dialectic subject and of desire” and the book of Michel Foucault “the abnormal ones”.
In both we found I raise respect to the subject that assumes to a speech, which will allow a shift of paradigm. One is to think the passage of the figure of the expert summoned institutionally, to the analyst position. The hypothesis is that the shift of paradigm, will offer greater effectiveness in attendance and classification tasks. Instead of the psychological theories, that they approach the individual, the conduct, and that they consider a unit where the psychic thing covers the somatic thing, we propose as theoretical frame the psychoanalysis developed by Lacan. Considering its structured conceptualización of the unconscious one like a language. The psychoanalysis can offer one more a more effective perspective, as opposed to the social legal demand of a tie practice to the readjustment, the culpabilización and a modality of reeducación. The diet of Pomacea canaliculata (Gastropoda: Ampullariidae) in its native habitat based on gut content and stableisotopes analysis
Pomacea canaliculata is native to Rio de la Plata basin, and it is invasive in most of South and Southeast Asia after accidental introduction during unsuccessful attempts to establish commercial aquaculture of this species, and being present, the number one pest of rice crops in the region. Investigations in its native habitat are still needed because fundamental issues of its trophic ecology remain unknown. The aim of this research was to study the diet of P. canaliculata in its natural habitat through gut content techniques and stable isotopes of 13C and 15N. Biological samples were taken from November 2009 to December 2010 in Carnaval stream, a characteristic Pampean stream. Samples for stable isotopes of 13C and 15N using of a mixing model were collected in November 2011. The trophic strategy diagram evinced a generalist diet with high consumption of detritus followed by the vascular plants and algae. The mixing model results indicated that the relative contribution to the diet was similar for all basal resources: fine and coarse particulate organic matter, epipelon and aquatic macrophytes (approximately 40 %). These results evidenced a strong dietary plasticity for the species.Pomacea canaliculata es una especie nativa de la Cuenca del Río de la Plata, actualmente considerada invasora en el Sur y Estede Asia donde fue introducida con fines comerciales y se ha convertido en la principal plaga de los cultivos de arroz de la región.Realizar más investigaciones en el hábitat natural de este organismo es necesario debido a que características fundamentalesde su ecología trófica permanecen aún desconocidas. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar la dieta de P. canaliculata en suhábitat natural mediante los análisis de contenidos digestivos e isótopos estables de 13C y 15N. Las muestras biológicas fuerontomadas desde noviembre de 2009 hasta diciembre de 2010 en el arroyo Carnaval, un arroyo pampeano característico. Lasmuestras para análisis de isótopos estables y posterior aplicación de modelos de mezcla fueron colectadas en noviembre de 2011.La aplicación de un diagrama de estrategia trófica permitió establecer una dieta generalista con elevado consumo de detritos,seguidos por plantas vasculares y algas. Los resultados del modelo de mezcla, sin embargo, indicaron que la contribuciónrelativa a la dieta de todos los recursos basales evaluados (materia orgánica particulada fina y gruesa, epipelon y macrófitas acuáticas) fue similar (aproximadamente 40 %). Cloud computing application model for online recommendation through fuzzy logic system
Cloud computing can offer us different distance services over the internet. We propose an online application model for health care systems that works by use of cloud computing. It can provide a higher quality of services remotely and along with that, it decreases the cost of chronic patient. This model is composed of two sub-model that each one uses a different service, one of these is software as a service (SaaS) which is user related and another one is Platform as a service (PaaS) that is engineer related. Doctors classify the chronic diseases into different stages according to their symptoms. As the clinical data has a non-numeric value, we use the fuzzy logic system in Paas model to design this online application model. Based on this classification, patienst can receive the proper recommendation through smart devices (SaaS model).Facultad de Informátic
Learning Kernels from genetic profiles to discriminate tumor subtypes
Our work aims to perform the feature selection step on Multiple Kernel Learning by optimizing the Kernel Target Alignment score. It begins by building feature-wise gaussian kernel functions. Then by a constrained linear combination of the feature-wise kernels, we aim to increase the Kernel Target Alignment to obtain a new optimized custom kernel. The linear combination results in a sparse solution where only few kernels survive to improve KTA and consequently a reduced feature subset is obtained. Reducing considerably the original gene set allow to study deeper the selected genes for clinical purposes. The higher the KTA obtained, the better the feature selection, since we want to build custom kernels to use them for classification purposes later. The final kernel after optimizing the KTA is built by a linear combination of ‘Ki’ kernels, each one associated to a μi coefficient. A Modelling Framework for Optimising Investment for the Australian Livestock Industry
Despite the scale and importance of the beef industry in the north of Australia, recent political and environmental disruptions have highlighted the vulnerability of the supply chain. Ensuring that the supply chain remains resilient to climatic events as well as to unexpected decisions by the stakeholders will require careful planning and investment in logistics. In this paper, we outline an integrated methodology based on tactical and operational dynamic models, for assessing the effect of changes in the supply chain. Emphasis is on the development of an optimisation model that covers the ow of cattle from properties to agistment farms and feedlots to abattoirs/ports, and the selection of rest areas (spelling yards) along the path. The model selects the optimal location of spelling yards along the road network, subject to budget, site capacity, and service requirements. Spectrophotometry of early type stars
A photoelectric spectrum scanner attached to the 16-inch telescope of the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory was used to determine the relative spectral intensity distribution for early type stars. Observations on a minimun of three nights per star have been obtained for about two hundred stars. The tracings extend from 3100 Å to 6000 Å. They were obtained with a slit width from 50 Å to 80 Å , and thus can be used also for a determination of the equivalent widths of H-beta, H-gamma, and H-delta, As a byproduct precise information on the monochromatic atmospheric extinction at Cerro Tololo is obtained. For general graphs these problems are NP-hard, however, domination in graphs has been shown to be polynomially solvable in several graph classes.
