A search is performed for a massive new vector-like quark T, with charge 2/3, that is pair produced together with its antiparticle in proton-proton collisions. The data were collected by the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider in 2012 at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 inverse femtobarns. The T quark is assumed to decay into three different final states, bW, tZ, and tH. The search is carried out using events with at least one isolated lepton. No deviations from standard model expectations are observed, and lower limits are set on the T quark mass at 95% confidence level. The lower limit lies between 687 and 782 GeV for all possible values of the branching fractions into the three different final states assuming strong production. These limits are the most stringent constraints to date on the existence of such a quark

Measurement of forward charged hadron flow harmonics in peripheral PbPb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the LHCb detector

Flow harmonic coefficients, v n , which are the key to studying the hydrodynamics of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in heavy-ion collisions, have been measured in various collision systems and kinematic regions and using various particle species. The study of flow harmonics in a wide pseudorapidity range is particularly valuable to understand the temperature dependence of the shear viscosity to entropy density ratio of the QGP. This paper presents the first LHCb results of the second- and the third-order flow harmonic coefficients of charged hadrons as a function of transverse momentum in the forward region, corresponding to pseudorapidities between 2.0 and 4.9, using the data collected from PbPb collisions in 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV . The coefficients measured using the two-particle angular correlation analysis method are smaller than the central-pseudorapidity measurements at ALICE and ATLAS from the same collision system but share similar features

Study of CP violation in B0 → DK⋆(892)0 decays with D → Kπ(ππ), ππ(ππ), and KK final states

A measurement of CP-violating observables associated with the interference of B0 → D0K⋆ (892)0 and B0 → D¯ 0K⋆ (892)0 decay amplitudes is performed in the D0 → K∓π ±(π +π −), D0 → π +π −(π +π −), and D0 → K+K− fnal states using data collected by the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1 . CP-violating observables related to the interference of B0 s → D0K¯ ⋆ (892)0 and B0 s → D¯ 0K¯ ⋆ (892)0 are also measured, but no evidence for interference is found. The B0 observables are used to constrain the parameter space of the CKM angle γ and the hadronic parameters r DK⋆ B0 and δ DK⋆ B0 with inputs from other measurements. In a combined analysis, these measurements allow for four solutions in the parameter space, only one of which is consistent with the world average

PERCEPCIONES DE PACIENTES POSTBARIÁTRICOS SOBRE LA CONDUCTA ALIMENTARIA DURANTE LA PANDEMIA: un estudio cualitativo

The COVID-19 pandemic brought changes in the population's food consumption, impacting mental and physical health. This study aimed to describe perceptions about the influence of the pandemic on the eating behavior of people who underwent bariatric surgery (BS) during this period. To this end, the previous relationship of these subjects with food was also evaluated, especially emotions and food, in order to better understand such interference during the pandemic. This is a qualitative research, with the participation of six people who underwent CB during the pandemic. An online semi-structured interview was used to collect data that were later submitted to Bardin's content analysis method. Four categories were listed: relationship of emotions with food, BC decision, food in the pandemic and perception of the influence of the pandemic on BC. The results showed that emotions influence eating, and that eating was also influenced during the pandemic, given that participants reported having eaten more. The motivations for performing the BS were health issues, self-acceptance and relationship with family members, but the participants were afraid to perform the procedure due to the pandemic. It is concluded that the pandemic had an impact on the eating behavior of people undergoing BS, but its realization was positive, since obesity was a risk factor for the worsening of COVID-19.La pandemia del COVID-19 trajo cambios en el consumo de alimentos de la población, impactando en la salud mental y física. Introduction: To evaluate the prevalence of appendix neoplasia correlating withpatient profile, histological types and frequency. Methods: Data collection was performed in the Pathology Department of a GeneralHospital, with the objective of identifying patients diagnosed with malignant cecalappendix tumors by histopathologic study of specimens from acute appendicitis. Results: The prevalence of malignant primary epithelial neoplasia of the appendixwas 1%. Fifty percent of the cases were neuroendocrine tumors, 35% were mucinous, and 15% were adenocarcinomas. The mean age at diagnosis was 41.3 (SD, 20.4)years (range16-81), with a women/men ratio of 3:1.Discussion: Appendiceal neoplasms are rare and should be suspected manlyin women over 40 years of age with suggestive symptoms of acute appendicitis. The size, location, extent, margins and presence of mucin are essential findings forthe treatment of these patients
