    The SDGs in the EU Cultural Policies: an institutional communication perspective

    The main goal of this research is to analyze the experts’ opinions on cultural sustainability and the importance of sustainable development in the EU cultural policies. Besides, the research analyses how institutional communication may contribute to the introduction of the sustainable development, and, specifically, of the SDGs in the European Union cultural policies’ definition. In order to achieve these objectives, we share a survey with several experts in EU cultural policies. The experts’ conclusions show that the SDGs need to be explicitly included in the cultural policies, adding a more practical perspective through specific projects and action plans. Institutional communication is a strategic factor for the success of sustainable development in terms of cultural policies and cultural sustainability in the European Union

    Measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry of electron and muon pair-production in pp collisions at s ? =7

    This paper presents measurements from the ATLAS experiment of the forward-backward asymmetry in the reaction pp -> Z/gamma* -> l(+)l(-), with l being electrons or muons, and the extraction of the effective weak mixing angle. The results are based on the full set of data collected in 2011 in pp collisions at the LHC at root s = 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 fb(-1). The measured asymmetry values are found to be in agreement with the corresponding Standard Model predictions. The combination of the muon and electron channels yields a value of the effective weak mixing angle of sin(2) theta(lept)(eff) = 0.2308 +/- 0.0005(stat.)+/- 0.0006(syst.)+/- 0.0009(PDF), where the first uncertainty corresponds to data statistics, the second to s ystematic effects and the third to knowledge of the parton density functions. This result agrees with the current world average from the Particle Data Group fit

    Measurement of the ttˉZt\bar{t}Z and ttˉWt\bar{t}W production cross sections in multilepton final states using 3.2 fb1^{-1} of pppp collisions at s\sqrt{s} =13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    A measurement of the ttˉZt\bar{t}Z and ttˉWt\bar{t}W production cross sections in final states with either two same-charge muons, or three or four leptons (electrons or muons) is presented. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions at s=13\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2015, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb1^{-1}, The inclusive cross sections are extracted using likelihood fits to signal and control regions, resulting in σttˉZ=0.9±0.3\sigma_{t\bar{t}Z} = 0.9 \pm 0.3 pb and σttˉW=1.5±0.8\sigma_{t\bar{t}W} = 1.5 \pm 0.8 pb, in agreement with the Standard Model predictions
