Design and implementation of grid multi-scroll fractional-order chaotic attractors
This paper proposes a novel approach for generating multi-scroll chaotic attractors in multidirections
for fractional-order (FO) systems. The stair nonlinear function series and the saturated
nonlinear function are combined to extend equilibrium points with index 2 in a new FO linear system.
With the help of stability theory of FO systems, stability of its equilibrium points is analyzed,
and the chaotic behaviors are validated through phase portraits, Lyapunov exponents, and Poincaré
section. Choosing the order 0.96 as an example, a circuit for generating 2-D grid multiscroll chaotic
attractors is designed, and 2-D 9x9 grid FO attractors are observed at most. Numerical simulations
and circuit experimental results show that the method is feasible and the designed circuit is correct.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum in Captive Neotropical and Exotic Wild Canids and Felids
Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)This study was designed to detect antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum in wild captive carnivores maintained in Brazilian zoos. Blood samples were collected from 142 Brazilian wild felids and 19 exotic felids in zoos, and 3 European wolves (Canis lupus) and 94 Brazilian wild canids maintained in captivity in Brazilian zoos of Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso states and Federal District. One hundred and two (63.4%) and 70 (50.3%) of the 161 wild felids tested were seropositive for T gondii and N. caninum by indirect immunofluorescent assay test (IFAT), respectively. Among sampled wild canids, 49 (50.5%) and 40 (41.2%) animals were seropositive for T. gondii and N. caninum antigens by IFAT, respectively. To our knowledge, this is the first serological detection of antibodies to N. caninum in Brazilian wild captive felids and bush dogs (Speothos venaticus (Lund)).96510071009Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renovaveis (IBAMA) [S02027.002943/2005, 15901-1]Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)FAPESP [07/59889-6, 08/55570-8]Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renovaveis (IBAMA) [S02027.002943/2005, 15901-1
Functionally heterogeneous human satellite cells identified by single cell RNA sequencing.
Although heterogeneity is recognized within the murine satellite cell pool, a comprehensive understanding of distinct subpopulations and their functional relevance in human satellite cells is lacking. We used a combination of single cell RNA sequencing and flow cytometry to identify, distinguish, and physically separate novel subpopulations of human PAX7+ satellite cells (Hu-MuSCs) from normal muscles. We found that, although relatively homogeneous compared to activated satellite cells and committed progenitors, the Hu-MuSC pool contains clusters of transcriptionally distinct cells with consistency across human individuals. New surface marker combinations were enriched in transcriptional subclusters, including a subpopulation of Hu-MuSCs marked by CXCR4/CD29/CD56/CAV1 (CAV1+). In vitro, CAV1+ Hu-MuSCs are morphologically distinct, and characterized by resistance to activation compared to CAV1- Hu-MuSCs. In vivo, CAV1+ Hu-MuSCs demonstrated increased engraftment after transplantation. Our findings provide a comprehensive transcriptional view of normal Hu-MuSCs and describe new heterogeneity, enabling separation of functionally distinct human satellite cell subpopulations
A seismological analysis of Delta Scuti stars in the Pleiades cluster
A comparison between the oscillation frequencies of six multi-periodic Delta
Scuti stars of the Pleiades cluster and the eigenfrequencies of rotating
stellar models that match the corresponding stellar parameters has been carried
out. The assumption that all the stars considered have some common parameters,
such as metallicity, distance or age, is imposed as a constraint. As a result,
we have a best fit solution associated with a cluster metallicity of [Fe/H] ~
0.067, an age between 70x10^6 and 100x10^6 yr and a distance modulus of
mv-Mv=5.60-5.70 mag. All the stars were found to oscillate mainly in
non-radial, low degree, low order p modes. Estimates of mass and rotation rates
for each star are also obtainedComment: 10 pages, 7 figure

The interictal dysphoric disorder of epilepsy: Legend or reality?
For a long time, the relationships between epilepsy and mood disorders captured the attention of clinicians and neuroscientists. The existence of a peculiar clinical presentation for mood disorders in epilepsy has been a matter of debate since the early reports of Kraepelin and Bleuler. The interictal dysphoric disorder (IDD) represents the modern reinterpretation of such early observations. This paper reviews current research on this topic discussing clinical implications, phenomenological observations, and directions for future research
Parallaxes and proper motions for 20 open clusters as based on the new Hipparcos catalogue
A new reduction of the astrometric data as produced by the Hipparcos mission
has been published, claiming that the accuracies for nearly all stars brighter
than magnitude are improved, by up to a factor 4, compared to
the original catalogue. As correlations between the underlying abscissa
residuals have also been reduced by more than an order of magnitude to an
insignificant level, our ability to determine reliable parallaxes and proper
motions for open clusters should be improved. The new Hipparcos astrometric
catalogue is used to derive mean parallax and proper motion estimates for 20
open clusters. The HR-diagrams of the nearest clusters are compared and
combined to provide future input to sets of observational isochrones. The
positions of the cluster HR diagrams are consistent within different groups of
clusters shown for example by the near-perfect alignment of the sequences for
the Hyades and Praesepe, for Coma Ber and UMa, and for the Pleiades, NGC 2516,
and Blanco 1. The groups are mutually consistent when systematic differences in
are taken into account, where the effect of these differences on
the absolute magnitudes has been calibrated using field-star observations.Comment: 34 pages, 36 figures, 7 tables. Accepted for publication by A&
