An Approach For Detection Of Logical Inconsistency

    Get PDF
Online responses to multi-criteria decision making questionnaires often contain inconsistencies, due to possible inconsistent interpretations of the questions or the erratic mental states of the respondents. If such inconsistent responses remain undetected and no appropriate corrective actions are taken, the questionnaire outcomes will be less reliable. The main research motivation was to minimize such inconsistent responses by detecting the logically inconsistent responses dynamically. The conventional approaches compute a consistency ratio to quantitatively specify the level of inconsistent responses. However, in most online questionnaires, it is too late to highlight the inconsistency level at the end. They should be flagged out as soon as each inconsistent response surfaces

    Twin-twin transfusion syndrome: revisited

Twin to twin transfusion syndrome is a very rare disorder complicating monozygotic monochorionic pregnancy. Here we are reporting a case of Twin to twin transfusion syndrome in 20 year old primigravida woman. Amnioreduction was planned as a treatment option. However patient underwent premature labor and deliver male twins both of which died later on

ROLE OF EPIGENETIC MECHANISMS IN VARIOUS CANCER THERAPIES

    Get PDF
Epigenetics play a role not just in the normal functioning of the cell and its development, but also in diseases like neurological diseases and cancer. Epigenetic therapies can help to resolve non-identical problems of these pathophysiological conditions. Cancer is a complex disease with both genetic and epigenetic origins. The importance of epigenetics in cancer has been identified, and the field has emerged rapidly in recent years. Epigenetic and genetic alterations contribute to the initiation and progression of cancer. Epigenetic modifications introduced genetic changes, and usually occur at an early stage in development of a neoplasm, but may also be involved in its invasion and spread. Recent technological advances in genetics and epigenetics offer a better understanding of the underlying epigenetic alterations during initiation and in the progression process of the human tumors

A fuzzy approach for prioritizing selection criteria

    Get PDF
As the jobs market becomes more competitive, more students are trying to seek admission to overseas institutions for higher education. In the design of a personalized recommendation, identifying the appropriate selection criteria and providing a structured way to prioritizing them is crucial. The objective of this paper is to use the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process to facilitate the recommendation process. In the past, rarely have the survey questions been deliberately phrased to minimize the possible vagueness in the questions. This paper proposes an enhanced way of phrasing the questions such that the respondents would find the questions more easily understandable. It is argued that better understanding of the questions will minimize the ambiguity inherent in the questions, which would then enhance the consistency and reliability of the answers

Evaluation of the role of HRCT chest in the differentiation of pattern of spectrum in lung diseases

Introduction: - CT is a modality used in imaging of internal structures/ organs by the use of radiation. HRCT is an examination protocol in CT for Lungs and Temporal bone. As HRCT uses thin slices so it provides detailed information which helps in better diagnosis. Aim and Objective:- To evaluate the Role of HRCT Chest in differentiation of pattern of spectrum in lung diseases to find out the different patterns in lung diseases. Methods & Materials:- The study was conducted on a period of 6 months on 30 patients. 16 slice CT machine was used for the scanning and thin sections were acquired by using HRCT protocols. Result:- In out of 30 patients, the common findings are Ground Glass Opacities, Tree In Bud Appearance, Reticular Opacities, Honey Combing, Consolidation Nodular Opacities. Conclusion:- HRCT chest is most important and valuable in diagnosis of lung diseases even when chest X-ray is normal. It is capable of imaging the lung with excellent spatial resolution and provides good anatomical detail
