The gastropod-symbiotic sea anemone genus Isosicyonis Carlgren, 1927 (Actiniaria : Actiniidae): a new species from the Weddell Sea (Antarctica) that clarifies the taxonomic position of the genus
A second species of the sea anemone genus Isosicyonis is described and illustrated from 16 specimens collected in the Weddell Sea (Antarctica) on the Polarstern cruises ANT XVII/3, ANT XXI/2 and ANT XXIII/8. Isosicyonis striata n. sp. is easily distinguishable externally from the other species of the genus Isosicyonis alba by its pattern: white longitudinal stripes on the column, oral disc, and tentacles. It is also distinguished by internal features including the retractor muscles, parietobasilar muscles, marginal sphincter muscles, number of mesenteries, and cnidae. The genus Isosycionis is currently only known from the Southern Ocean. Both species of Isosicyonis live in association with a gastropod, with a single sea anemone occupying almost the whole shell of its gastropod host. The description of this new species, and our re-examination of Isosicyonis alba, resolves the controversial higher taxonomic position of the genus, confirming its placement within the Endomyaria
Uncertainty about the Persistence of Cost-Push Shocks and the Optimal Reaction of the Monetary Authority.
In this paper we formalize the uncertainty about the persistence of cost-push shocks using an open economy optimal control model with Markov regime-switching and robust control. The latter is used in only one of the regimes producing relatively more persistent cost-push shocks in that regime. Conditional on being in the regime with relatively less persistence, we obtain two main results: a) underestimating the probability of switching to the regime with relatively more persistent cost-push shocks causes higher welfare losses than its overestimation; and b) the welfare losses associated with either underestimation or overestimation of such probability increase with the size of the penalty on inflation deviations from its target. A Full Non-Monotonic Transition System for Unrestricted Non-Projective Parsing
Restricted non-monotonicity has been shown beneficial for the projective
arc-eager dependency parser in previous research, as posterior decisions can
repair mistakes made in previous states due to the lack of information. In this
paper, we propose a novel, fully non-monotonic transition system based on the
non-projective Covington algorithm. As a non-monotonic system requires
exploration of erroneous actions during the training process, we develop
several non-monotonic variants of the recently defined dynamic oracle for the
Covington parser, based on tight approximations of the loss. Experiments on
datasets from the CoNLL-X and CoNLL-XI shared tasks show that a non-monotonic
dynamic oracle outperforms the monotonic version in the majority of languages.Comment: 11 pages. Accepted for publication at ACL 201
Spanish Tourist Behaviour: A Specific Objective-base Segmantation
This work uses data from the Spanish Tourism Demand Segments Survey (N=6900) conducted by the IESA-CSIC for Turismo Andaluz, SA. The objective of the paper is to develop a statistical segmentation or typology of Spanish tourists based on objective aspects of tourist behaviour measured in the survey including destinations visited, theme of the trip, lodging, transportation and travel group. Initial categorical data are reduced using multiple correspondence analysis and grouped through cluster analysis. Afterwards, identified segments are evaluated to analyse their tourist profiles with a view to examining sociological perspectives of tourist behaviour.Tourist Demand, Segmentation, Spain, Domestic Tourism, Multiple Correspondence Analysis, Cluster Analysis
Defensive alliances in graphs: a survey
A set of vertices of a graph is a defensive -alliance in if
every vertex of has at least more neighbors inside of than outside.
This is primarily an expository article surveying the principal known results
on defensive alliances in graph. Its seven sections are: Introduction,
Computational complexity and realizability, Defensive -alliance number,
Boundary defensive -alliances, Defensive alliances in Cartesian product
graphs, Partitioning a graph into defensive -alliances, and Defensive
-alliance free sets.Comment: 25 page
