Forecast Form : Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s-Today

    No full text
"The 1990s were a period of profound political transformation, from the dissolution of the Eastern Bloc to the rise of trade agreements that continue to influence the world we live in today. Emerging from this pivotal decade—which also shaped the production, circulation and framing of art in the Caribbean—Forecast Form traces a path into the present, highlighting forms, materials and processes that reveal new modes of thinking about identity and place. This volume features scholarly essays alongside richly illustrated plate sections and texts focused on an intergenerational group of 37 artists working across the Americas and Europe. A radical rethinking of contemporary art in the Caribbean, Forecast Form reveals the region as a place where the past, the present and the future meet—where continuous exchanges forecast what is to come while remaining grounded in the histories that shape the present." -- Distributor's websit

Effect of the ammoniation with urea on the pH and microorganismos of hay of Brachiaria humidicola

    No full text
Los valores obtenidos fueron 5,66; 7,75; 8,56 y 8.42 para el grupo sin tratamiento, con 0, 3 y 6% de urea, respectivamente.572 - 574BimestralWith the purpose of evaluating the effect of the ammoniation with urea and of the cutting age on pH and microorganismos of the hay of Brachiaria humidicola under tropical dry forest conditions, with precipitation average of 1100 mm/year and temperature of 28°C. A plot of one hectare with Brachiaria humidicola was used after uniformity, five strip were located at random with an effective area of 102 m2 for each cutting ages (30, 44, 58, 72 and 86 days). The design used was a completely randomized with a split plot arragement and three repetitions. The chopped hay was placed in plastic bags and it was added 0, 3 and 6% of urea diluted with 40% of water in relation to the dry weight of the hay. It was stored for 28 days at ambient temperature. Samples from hay were taken for pH and microbiologic analysis to fungus and bacteria counts. The results showed effects of ammoniation (P<0,0001) and the interaction of treatments (P<0,005) on pH. It showed an increment with levels of urea of 5.66; 7.75; 8.56 y 8.42 for group without treatment with 0.3 y 6% of urea, respectively
