An Additional Set of (Automated) Eyes: Chatbots for Agile Retrospectives
Recent advances in natural-language processing and data analysis allow
software bots to become virtual team members, providing an additional set of
automated eyes and additional perspectives for informing and supporting
teamwork. In this paper, we propose employing chatbots in the domain of
software development with a focus on supporting analyses and measurements of
teams' project data. The software project artifacts produced by agile teams
during regular development activities, e.g. commits in a version control
system, represent detailed information on how a team works and collaborates.
Analyses of this data are especially relevant for agile retrospective meetings,
where adaptations and improvements to the executed development process are
discussed. Development teams can use these measurements to track the progress
of identified improvement actions over development iterations. Chatbots provide
a convenient user interface for interacting with the outcomes of retrospectives
and the associated measurements in a chat-based channel that is already being
employed by team members.Comment: Accepted at the 1st International Workshop on Bots in Software

Resource-oriented toilet: a sustainable sanitation option adopted in Arba Minch, Ethiopia
The ROSA project (ResourceOriented
Sanitation concepts for periurban
areas in Africa) proposes
resourcesoriented
sanitation concepts as a route to sustainable sanitation and to meet the UN
Millennium Development Goals. These concepts are applied in ROSA's four pilot cities in Eastern Africa:
Arba Minch in Ethiopia, Nakuru in Kenya, Arusha in Tanzania, and Kitgum in Uganda. With in the
framework of the ROSA project several pilot units have been constructed for the treatment and safe use of
human excreta, grey water and solid waste. Researches were also carried out targeting the gaps for the
implementation of these resourceoriented
sanitation solutions. In this paper the methods followed for the
construction of toilet units constructed in Arba Minh town which include UDDT (urine diversion Dry
Toilets), Fossa Alterna & Arborloo are described. In addition the implementation of the resource
oriented concepts are addressed to share the knowledge acquired while implementing these toilet units
Low effective organizational strategies in visual memory performance of unmedicated alcoholics during early abstinence
Objective: Alcohol-dependent patients in early abstinence show an impairment of cognitive functions which can be seen in poor implementation of newly learned skills for avoiding relapse. Executive dysfunction may persist during abstinence in alcohol-dependent persons, thus mitigating long-term abstinence. This study assessed visual memory function and choice of organizational strategies in alcoholics, as these are major factors necessary to implement ongoing behavior changes which are required for maintaining abstinence

Linking institutional context to the community and career embeddedness of skilled migrants: the role of destination- and origin-country identifications
Migration is one of the most pressing global issues of our time. However, relatively little is known about the factors and mechanisms that govern the post-migration experiences of skilled migrants. We adopt an acculturation- and social identity-based approach to examine how differences between institutional characteristics in the destination and origin country, as well as migrants’ experiences with formal and informal institutions shape their identification with the destination and origin country and contribute to their community and career embeddedness. Our study of 1709 highly skilled migrants from 48 origin countries in 12 destination countries reveals that the institutional environment migrants encounter provides both sources of opportunity (potential for human development and value-congruent societal practices) and sources of disadvantage (experienced ethnocentrism and downgrading). These contrasting dynamics affect migrants’ destination-country identification, their origin-country identification and, ultimately, their embeddedness in the destination country. Our results have important implications for multinational enterprises and policy makers that can contribute to enhancing skilled migrants’ community and career embeddedness. For example, these actors may nurture a work environment and provide supportive policies that buffer against the institutional sources of disadvantage we identified in this study, while helping migrants to leverage the opportunities available in the destination country
Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector
A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements
Palmitoylation of Gephyrin Controls Receptor Clustering and Plasticity of GABAergic Synapses
Postsynaptic scaffolding proteins regulate coordinated neurotransmission by anchoring and clustering receptors and adhesion molecules. Gephyrin is the major instructive molecule at inhibitory synapses, where it clusters glycine as well as major subsets of GABA type A receptors (GABA(A)Rs). Here, we identified palmitoylation of gephyrin as an important mechanism of strengthening GABAergic synaptic transmission, which is regulated by GABA(A)R activity. We mapped palmitoylation to Cys212 and Cys284, which are critical for both association of gephyrin with the postsynaptic membrane and gephyrin clustering. We identified DHHC-12 as the principal palmitoyl acyltransferase that palmitoylates gephyrin. Furthermore, gephyrin pamitoylation potentiated GABAergic synaptic transmission, as evidenced by an increased amplitude of miniature inhibitory postsynaptic currents. Consistently, inhibiting gephyrin palmitoylation either pharmacologically or by expression of palmitoylation-deficient gephyrin reduced the gephyrin cluster size. In aggregate, our study reveals that palmitoylation of gephyrin by DHHC-12 contributes to dynamic and functional modulation of GABAergic synapses

Innovative therapeutic concepts of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is an opportunistic viral disease of the brain-caused by human polyomavirus 2. It affects patients whose immune system is compromised by a corresponding underlying disease or by drugs. Patients with an underlying lymphoproliferative disease have the worst prognosis with a mortality rate of up to 90%. Several therapeutic strategies have been proposed but failed to show any benefit so far. Therefore, the primary therapeutic strategy aims to reconstitute the impaired immune system to generate an effective endogenous antiviral response. Recently, anti-PD-1 antibodies and application of allogeneic virus-specific T cells demonstrated promising effects on the outcome in individual PML patients. This article aims to provide a detailed overview of the literature with a focus on these two treatment approaches
