Cooperative advantage is a strategy based on the deprivation of opposition and on unveiling cooperation as the only possible way to face the demands of sustainability imposed by democratic society, allowing improved quality relationships with the environment, building trustworthy contexts, which meet the expectations of all stakeholders in a more optimal manner. Furthermore, it allows the creation of social and economic value, meaning increasing the competitive advantage of the private sector, contributing to the creation of wealth, but at the same time mitigate the unwilling social effects produced by this type of value generation, incorporating other dimensions such as: inclusion, equal opportunities, social justice, organizational equity, deliberative participation, transparency and meritocracy, towards a society that strengthens and improves its democracy. The progressive transfer of responsibilities in social service implementation from state to nongovernmental actors, brings a demand to the same state, who instead of reducing its labor, should develop adequate mechanisms of regulation to ensure efficiency in social offer, in order to satisfy citizens demands in those public political commitments. Likewise, public institutions should recognize the demands from the private world to act articulated towards common goals, which ultimately would lead to a horizon of development of a more egalitarian society. This study reports on the tensions revealed by social services authorities serving vulnerable people, in regards to their collaborative relationship with Non Profit Organizations, in order to reach that horizon.

The aim of the study was to characterize the cognitive skills of a group of school children who have been victims of physical abuse and to compare their performance with a group of non-abused children of the same age. Through a transversal design, we worked with a non-probabilistic sample for convenience of 40 children between 6 and 10 years old, enrolled in a public school in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia. Of these children, 20 have been identified as victims of physical abuse and 20 as non-abused. The results show that there are no significant differences between the two groups, however, children without maltreatment perform slightly better in most of the cognitive skills compared to the children with maltreatment. The implications of these results are discussed in terms of psychological intervention in school contexts, which is oriented towards the prevention of this phenomenon as one of the actions required to make effective a true education for peace in our country, from the promotion of a no-violence culture, especially towards children. The disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus led to the disruption of normality with respect to education, public healthcare and new technologies. Education is a fundamental pillar to increase the knowledge and morale of people. However, due to the lockdown implemented to protect the population from an infection of unknown aetiology, the education system decided to switch from face-to-face education to virtual education. This modality has affected the teaching–learning process in the Degree of Nursing, since its competencies and knowledge demand in-presence learning. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact that telematic education had on students of the Degree of Nursing who were studying in the final year of said degree, which involves their imminent entry into the labour market. We used the client satisfaction questionnaire of Bob Hayes to gather data and analyse the satisfaction level of the nursing students. As a result, a considerable amount of information was obtained about teaching, which shows the absence of practical activities and the lack of information about safety and protection measures related to the pandemic. Most educators themselves were struggling to understand the implications of the virus and implement appropriate safety measures, since there was quite a bit of conflicting information relating to the effectiveness of personal protective safety equipment and the lifespan of the virus on various media outside of the host. It is, therefore, not surprising that education for students in this regard was lacking. In general, most of the students showed dissatisfaction with the virtual education they received.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    (1) Background: The impact of SARS-CoV-2 has been variable over the time course of the pandemic and in different populations. The aim was to analyze the impact of COVID-19 infection in a known population of hemodialysis (HD) patients and professionals in Spain at different times of the pandemic. (2) Methods: We conducted an observational, descriptive study with a follow-up from 3 March 2020 to 23 April 2022 (776 days), using in average of 414 professionals and 1381 patients from 18 HD units in Spain. The data from the positive PCR or the rapid antigen detection test (RADT) subject were analyzed and segmented into six periods (waves). (3) Results: Of 703 positive COVID-19 tests, 524 were HD patients (74.5%), and 179 were HD professionals (25.5%). Overall, 38% of staff and 43% of patients were affected. Differences were observed in regard to incidence (21% vs. 13%), mortality (3.5% vs. 0%), and symptomatology between the patients and professionals and throughout the pandemic. (4) Conclusions: COVID-19 severity varied during different pandemic waves, with a greater impact seen in the first wave. HD professionals and patients had similar infection rates, but patients had higher mortality rates. Community transmission was the primary route of infection. This research received was founded by Fundación Renal Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo (FRIAT). Search for CP violation in D+→ϕπ+ and D+s→K0Sπ+ decays

    Get PDF
A search for CP violation in D + → ϕπ + decays is performed using data collected in 2011 by the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 at a centre of mass energy of 7 TeV. The CP -violating asymmetry is measured to be (−0.04 ± 0.14 ± 0.14)% for candidates with K − K + mass within 20 MeV/c 2 of the ϕ meson mass. A search for a CP -violating asymmetry that varies across the ϕ mass region of the D + → K − K + π + Dalitz plot is also performed, and no evidence for CP violation is found. In addition, the CP asymmetry in the D+s→K0Sπ+ decay is measured to be (0.61 ± 0.83 ± 0.14)%

Measurement of the Bs0J/ψKS0B_s^0\to J/\psi K_S^0 branching fraction

The Bs0J/ψKS0B_s^0\to J/\psi K_S^0 branching fraction is measured in a data sample corresponding to 0.41fb1fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector at the LHC. This channel is sensitive to the penguin contributions affecting the sin2β\beta measurement from B0J/ψKS0B^0\to J/\psi K_S^0 The time-integrated branching fraction is measured to be BF(Bs0J/ψKS0)=(1.83±0.28)×105BF(B_s^0\to J/\psi K_S^0)=(1.83\pm0.28)\times10^{-5}. This is the most precise measurement to date

Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay B0→K∗0μ+μ−

    Get PDF
The angular distribution and differential branching fraction of the decay B 0→ K ∗0 μ + μ − are studied using a data sample, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1. Several angular observables are measured in bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared, q 2. A first measurement of the zero-crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system is also presented. The zero-crossing point is measured to be q20=4.9±0.9GeV2/c4 , where the uncertainty is the sum of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions

Opposite-side flavour tagging of B mesons at the LHCb experiment

The calibration and performance of the oppositeside flavour tagging algorithms used for the measurements of time-dependent asymmetries at the LHCb experiment are described. The algorithms have been developed using simulated events and optimized and calibrated with B + →J/ψK +, B0 →J/ψK ∗0 and B0 →D ∗− μ + νμ decay modes with 0.37 fb−1 of data collected in pp collisions at √ s = 7 TeV during the 2011 physics run. The oppositeside tagging power is determined in the B + → J/ψK + channel to be (2.10 ± 0.08 ± 0.24) %, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic
