    A relação entre autismo, família e aprendizagem, em artigos da base de dados Scielo (2003-2019)

    This study is guided by the following research question: How does the family influence the learning of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Was carried out an integrative literature review in the Scielo database (Scientific Electronic Library Online), through of combination of the following descriptors: autism; family; and learning. We’ve obtained 21 articles, between empirical (13) and bibliographic researches (8), which established the following relation with the research question: direct relation; indirect relation; relation while affirmative assumption. The results are in accordance that family participation in therapeutic and pedagogical interventions is important. However, there is a need to overcome a biomedical conception, in order to include systemic and inclusive conceptions, which conceived the roles of the family as protagonists in complex realities.Este estudio se guía por la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Cómo influye la familia en el aprendizaje de las personas con trastorno del espectro autista (TEA)? Se realizó una revisión de literatura integradora en la base de datos Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online), mediante la combinación de los descriptores: autismo; familia; y aprendizaje. Se obtuvieron 21 artículos, incluyendo investigaciones empíricas (13) y bibliográficas (8), que establecieron la siguiente relación con la pregunta de investigación: relación directa; relación indirecta; relación de suposición afirmativa. Los resultados indican el consenso sobre la importación de la participación de la familia en intervenciones terapéuticas y pedagógicas. Sin embargo, se percibe una necesidad de superar una concepción unicamente biomédica, con el objetivo de considerar las concepciones sistémicas e inclusivas, que conciben la familia como protagonistas en realidades complejas.Tem-se como norteador deste estudo a seguinte pergunta de pesquisa: Como a família influencia a aprendizagem de pessoas com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA)? Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura integrativa na base de dados da Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) com a combinação dos seguintes descritores: autismo; família; e aprendizagem. Obteve-se 21 artigos, entre pesquisas empíricas (13) e bibliográficas (8), que estabeleciam a seguinte relação com a pergunta norteadora: relação direta; relação indireta; relação enquanto pressuposto afirmativo.     SENTIDO DE VIDA EM PERIÓDICOS DA EDUCAÇÃO: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA INTEGRATIVA

    The conception of the sense of life, and its derivations, have an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary potential. This article presents an Integrative Literature Review about this conception in journals in the field of Education, based on the database of the Portal de Periódicos da Capes. The following statement was taken as a guiding question: How is the conception of the sense of life situated in articles from periodicals in the area of Education? The results show that the notion of sense of life is worked on by research in different perspectives, differentiating from a more situational level to a more global one, or between a more motivational character and another one more cognitive and centered on meaning, or in relation to the methodological approach , or the explanatory approach. The survey showed that the concept of the sense of life has been used in the production of periodicals in the area of Education in several countries. On the other hand, the number of articles that worked with this conception, in the last five years, within their investigative process, is shown to be small, given the problematization capacity that is related to such conception.La concepción del sentido de la vida, y sus derivaciones, tienen un potencial interdisciplinario y transdisciplinario. Este artículo presenta una Revisión Integrativa de Literatura sobre esta concepción en revistas del área de Educación, a partir de la base de datos del Portal de Periódicos da Capes. Se tomó como pregunta orientadora el siguiente enunciado: ¿Cómo se sitúa la concepción del sentido de la vida en artículos de periódicos del área de Educación? Los resultados muestran que la noción de sentido de la vida es trabajada por la investigación en diferentes perspectivas, diferenciando desde un nivel más situacional a uno más global, o entre uno de carácter más motivacional y otro más cognitivo y centrado en el sentido, o en relación al enfoque metodológico, o al enfoque explicativo. La revisión mostró que el concepto de sentido de la vida viene siendo utilizado en la producción de publicaciones periódicas en el área de Educación en varios países. Por otra parte, el número de artículos que trabajaron con esta concepción, en los últimos cinco años, dentro de su proceso investigativo, se muestra reducido, dada la capacidad de problematización que se relaciona con dicha concepción.A concepção de sentido de vida, e suas derivações, possuem um potencial interdisciplinar e transdisciplinar.     O presente artigo apresenta aspectos formativos do desafio de tornar-se professora de uma mulher cega no agreste alagoano. Tem como objetivo problematizar seu percurso formativo a partir da perspectiva da inclusão. Tomou-se como metodologia a história de vida e a pesquisa (auto) biográfica (Delory-Momberger, 2008; Josso, 2004; Belo, 2008). Discute-se a relação entre o individual, o coletivo e sua contextualização sócio-histórica. O resultado da análise das narrativas revela a importância de ações colaborativas que possam afirmar a inclusão e o processo de criação e recriação de si.&nbsp

    Photobiomodulation reduces the cytokine storm syndrome associated with Covid-19 in the zebrafish model

    Although the exact mechanism of the pathogenesis of COVID-19 is not fully understood, oxidative stress and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines have been highlighted as playing a vital role in the pathogenesis of the disease. In this sense, alternative treatments are needed to reduce the inflammation caused by COVID-19. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the potential effect of red PBM as an attractive therapy to downregulate the cytokine storm caused by COVID-19 from a zebrafish model. RT-PCR analyses and protein-protein interaction prediction among SARS-CoV-2 and Danio rerio proteins showed that rSpike was responsible for generating systemic inflammatory processes with significantly increased pro-inflammatory (il1b, il6, tnfa, and nfkbiab), oxidative stress (romo1) and energy metabolism (slc2a1a, coa1) mRNA markers, with a pattern like those observed in COVID-19 cases in humans. On the other hand, PBM treatment decreased the mRNA levels of these pro-inflammatory and oxidative stress markers compared with rSpike in various tissues, promoting an anti-inflammatory response. Conversely, PBM promotes cellular and tissue repair of injured tissues and significantly increases the survival rate of rSpike-inoculated individuals. Additionally, metabolomics analysis showed that the most impacted metabolic pathways between PBM and the rSpike-treated groups were related to steroid metabolism, immune system, and lipids metabolism. Together, our findings suggest that the inflammatory process is an incisive feature of COVID-19, and red PBM can be used as a novel therapeutic agent for COVID-19 by regulating the inflammatory response.     Canagliflozin and renal outcomes in type 2 diabetes and nephropathy

    BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the leading cause of kidney failure worldwide, but few effective long-term treatments are available. In cardiovascular trials of inhibitors of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), exploratory results have suggested that such drugs may improve renal outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes. METHODS In this double-blind, randomized trial, we assigned patients with type 2 diabetes and albuminuric chronic kidney disease to receive canagliflozin, an oral SGLT2 inhibitor, at a dose of 100 mg daily or placebo. All the patients had an estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of 30 to <90 ml per minute per 1.73 m2 of body-surface area and albuminuria (ratio of albumin [mg] to creatinine [g], >300 to 5000) and were treated with renin–angiotensin system blockade. The primary outcome was a composite of end-stage kidney disease (dialysis, transplantation, or a sustained estimated GFR of <15 ml per minute per 1.73 m2), a doubling of the serum creatinine level, or death from renal or cardiovascular causes. Prespecified secondary outcomes were tested hierarchically. RESULTS The trial was stopped early after a planned interim analysis on the recommendation of the data and safety monitoring committee. At that time, 4401 patients had undergone randomization, with a median follow-up of 2.62 years. The relative risk of the primary outcome was 30% lower in the canagliflozin group than in the placebo group, with event rates of 43.2 and 61.2 per 1000 patient-years, respectively (hazard ratio, 0.70; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.59 to 0.82; P=0.00001). The relative risk of the renal-specific composite of end-stage kidney disease, a doubling of the creatinine level, or death from renal causes was lower by 34% (hazard ratio, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.53 to 0.81; P<0.001), and the relative risk of end-stage kidney disease was lower by 32% (hazard ratio, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.54 to 0.86; P=0.002). The canagliflozin group also had a lower risk of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke (hazard ratio, 0.80; 95% CI, 0.67 to 0.95; P=0.01) and hospitalization for heart failure (hazard ratio, 0.61; 95% CI, 0.47 to 0.80; P<0.001). There were no significant differences in rates of amputation or fracture. CONCLUSIONS In patients with type 2 diabetes and kidney disease, the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular events was lower in the canagliflozin group than in the placebo group at a median follow-up of 2.62 years

    Genetic associations of bradykinin type 2 receptor, alpha-adrenoceptors and endothelial nitric oxide synthase with blood pressure and left ventricular mass in outpatients without overt heart disease

    Background: Physiological pathways such as bradykinin, renin-angiotensin, neurohormones and nitric oxide have been shown to play an important role in the regulation of cardiovascular function. Genetic variants of these pathways may impact blood pressure and left ventricular (LV) mass in different populations. To evaluate associations of genetic polymorphisms of bradykinin B2 receptor (BDKRB2), alpha-adrenergic receptors (ADRA) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) on the modulation of the blood pressure and the left ventricular mass. Methods: We enrolled 758 individuals without overt heart disease. Blood pressure was estimated by auscultatory method during the clinical examination. Left ventricular (LV) mass was assessed by echocardiography. Genotypes for ADRA1A rs1048101, ADRA2A rs553668, ADRA2B rs28365031, eNOS rs2070744, eNOS rs1799983, and BDKRB2 rs5810761 polymorphisms were assessed by high-resolution melting analysis. Results: BDKRB2 polymorphism rs5810761 was associated with blood pressure. Carriers of DD genotype had higher levels of SBP and DBP than carrier of II genotype (p = 0.013 and p = 0.007, respectively). eNOS polymorphism rs1799983 was associated with DBP. Carriers of GT genotype had lower levels of DBP than carriers of GG genotype (p = 0.018). eNOS polymorphism rs2070744 was associated with LV mass. Carriers of TC genotype had higher LV mass than carriers of TT genotype (p = 0.028). Conclusions: In a cohort of individuals without overt heart disease, the BDKRB2 rs5810761 polymorphism (DD genotype carriers) were associated higher systolic and diastolic blood pressures, and the eNOS rs1799983 polymorphism (T allele carriers) were associated with lower diastolic blood pressure. The eNOS rs2070744 polymorphism (C allele carriers) was associated with higher left ventricular mass. These data suggest that eNOS and bradykinin receptor genetic variants may be potential markers of common cardiovascular phenotypes.     Characterisation of microbial attack on archaeological bone

    As part of an EU funded project to investigate the factors influencing bone preservation in the archaeological record, more than 250 bones from 41 archaeological sites in five countries spanning four climatic regions were studied for diagenetic alteration. Sites were selected to cover a range of environmental conditions and archaeological contexts. Microscopic and physical (mercury intrusion porosimetry) analyses of these bones revealed that the majority (68%) had suffered microbial attack. Furthermore, significant differences were found between animal and human bone in both the state of preservation and the type of microbial attack present. These differences in preservation might result from differences in early taphonomy of the bones. © 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
