Antikerezeption im Internet

Die Dissertation 'Antikerezeption im Internet' untersucht, wie das Wissen über die Antike im Medium Internet erscheint. Zunächst wird mit Rekurs auf die konstruktivistische Systemtheorie ein Therorierahmen skizziert; ferner werden einige zentrale Merkmale des Internet dargestellt. Ein Forschungsbericht versucht, die Diskussionen über die Antikerezeption im Internet zu bündeln. Die Einzeluntersuchungen legen ihren Schwerpunkt auf die Online-Bibliotheken der lateinischen Literatur, auf die Online-Lexika, zuvörderst die Wikipedia, aber es kommen auch neuartige Medienformate wie Online-Grammatiken zur Sprache. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Untersuchung bestimmter sozialer Systeme und ihrer sprezifischen Rezeption der Antike: Hier kommen die Wissenschaft, die Schule, die politischen Internetseiten, die Massenmedien und die Internetkunst zur Sprache. Schließlich wird am Beispiel einer Internetrecherche zu Ciceros philosophischen Schriften ein abschließender Überblick über die Möglichkeiten gesucht, aus dem Internet Wissen über die Antike zu gewinnen

Medienbildung als konstruktive Aneignung von Medienensembles: Vorbemerkungen zu einer Theorie der Medienpädagogik

Die These dieses Aufsatzes lautet, dass im medienpädagogischen Handeln und Kommunizieren Erfahrungen mit dinglich gegebenen Medien verarbeitet und dass dadurch Medienensembles konstruiert werden, also praktisch verfügbare Konfigurationen von Geräten und Gegenständen, unter denen die beteiligten Akteure eine Auswahl treffen können. Der Begriff der Wahl lässt insbesondere einen Anschluss an die Idee einer demokratischen Medienbildung zu. Als erkenntnistheoretische Grundlage wird eine Orientierung an der sinnlichen Erfahrung vorgeschlagen, die gerade in Immanuel Kants "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" als Erkenntnisquelle begründet wird. Dass der Begriff der Medienensembles auch die historische Dimension aufschließen kann, wird am Beispiel des so genannten Neumagener Schulreliefs gezeigt, einem archäologischen Dokument aus der Zeit um 180 n.Chr

Methanbildungspotenziale verschiedener Pflanzenarten aus Energiefruchtfolgen

Das Methanbildungspotenzial ist ein entscheidendes Qualitätsmerkmal von Biomassen bei ihrer Nutzung als Einsatzstoff für die Biogasproduktion. Von 769 unter einheitlichen Bedingungen silierten Erntegütern aus Energiefruchtfolgen wurden mittels Batch-Gärtests in zwei verschiedenen Versuchsanlagen spezifische Methanausbeuten ermittelt. Daraus konnten Richtwerte für mittlere Methanausbeuten je Fruchtart und Fruchtfolgestellung, Schnitt bzw. Trockenmassebereich oder Entwicklungsstadium zur Ernte für 93 verschiedene pflanzliche Biomassen abgeleitet werden. Die Ergebnisse stellen eine umfassende Datengrundlage dar, die in Verbindung mit Biomasseerträgen für die Abschätzung von Methanhektarerträgen zur ökonomischen und ökologischen Bewertung von Energiefruchtfolgen, zur Planung und Auslegung von Biogasanlagen sowie zur Entscheidung hinsichtlich des Anbaus alternativer pflanzlicher Kosubstrate und der Konzeption nachhaltiger Biogasfruchtfolgen genutzt werden können.The methane production potential represents an essential quality parameter of biomass if used as feedstock for biogas production. 769 harvested crop materials from crop rotations were ensiled at standardized conditions and were analyzed regarding their specific methane yields by applying two different experimental setups of batch anaerobic digestion tests. Based on this analysis, reference values for average methane yields per crop species and position within the crop rotation, cutting regime, range of dry matter content, or stage of growth at harvest have been deduced for 93 different crop biomasses. Results provide a comprehensive dataset that can be used in combination with biomass yields for the estimation of methane hectare yields, for economic and ecological evaluation of energy crop rotations, for planning and structural design of biogas plants as well as for decisions regarding the cultivation of alternative co-substrates and the design of sustainable biogas crop rotations

Closed-loop control of product properties in metal forming

Metal forming processes operate in conditions of uncertainty due to parameter variation and imperfect understanding. This uncertainty leads to a degradation of product properties from customer specifications, which can be reduced by the use of closed-loop control. A framework of analysis is presented for understanding closed-loop control in metal forming, allowing an assessment of current and future developments in actuators, sensors and models. Relationship between Social Media Addiction, Addictive Behavior, Anxiety, and Life Satisfaction

As technology continues to grow, one of the most used technology in the world is social media. There are positive and negative side to the use of social media. It has become easier to connect with people throughout the world without needed to leave our home. However, one dangerous side effect of social media use is the risk of developing an addiction. This study looks at the correlation between social media addiction and other types of addiction; Caffeine, Gaming, and Nicotine. It also looks at the relationship between social media addiction, Satisfaction with Life, and Anxiety. A convenience sample N=63 consisting of undergraduate female university student in Virginia was used. Different scales were used to complete this study, notably, the Social Media Addiction Measure (SMAM), the Caffeine Consumption Questionnaire (CCQ), the Gaming Addiction Identification Test (GAIT), Penn State [Electronic] Cigarette Dependence Index, the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWL) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). Pearson r and Spearman rho was then calculated to assess the relationship between substances. Gaming addiction and caffeine consumption were positively correlated with anxiety. However, compared to previous studies no other correlations was found between addiction measures. Sample size used in previous study was larger and included male participants. Salvia suspension cultures as production systems for oleanolic and ursolic acid

Oleanolic and ursolic acid (OA and UA) are triterpenic acids with diverse biological activities that are of interest to the pharmaceutical industry. To investigate the scope for producing these compound using cell suspension cultures of Salvia species, calli from S. officinalis, S. virgata and S. fruticosa were induced using several plant growth regulator (PGR) combinations. Eleven lines were selected for suspension induction from a pool of calli. Six suspension cultures were established successfully and cultivated in the Respiration Activity MOnitoring System® (RAMOS®) to obtain online data on their growth kinetics and to establish appropriate sampling schedules for the determination of their OA and UA production. Based on their observed growth behaviour, OA and UA contents, and aggregation properties, one suspension culture from each studied Salvia species was selected for further optimisation. The μmax values for these suspension cultures ranged from 0.20 to 0.37°d-1, their OA and UA contents were greater than 1.3 and 1.2 mg g-1, respectively, and they afforded maximum volumetric yields of 21.0 mg l-1 for OA and 32.8 mg l-1 for UA. These results will be useful in the development of a refined Salvia suspension-based process for OA and UA production
