    PD-1とVEGFR2の同時阻害による相乗的抗腫瘍効果

    Recent basic and clinical studies have shown that the programmed death ligand (PD-L)/PD-1 pathway has a significant role in tumour immunity, and its blockade has a therapeutic potential against several human cancers. We hypothesized that anti-angiogeneic treatment might augment the efficacy of PD-1 blockade. To this end, we evaluated combining the blockade of PD-1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) in a murine cancer model using Colon-26 adenocarcinoma. Interestingly, simultaneous treatment with anti-PD-1 and anti-VEGFR2 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) inhibited tumour growth synergistically in vivo without overt toxicity. Blocking VEGFR2 inhibited tumour neovascularization significantly, as demonstrated by the reduced number of microvessels, while PD-1 blockade had no impact on tumour angiogenesis. PD-1 blockade might promote T cell infiltration into tumours and significantly enhanced local immune activation, as shown by the up-regulation of several proinflammatory cytokine expressions. Importantly, VEGFR2 blockade did not interfere with T cell infiltration and immunological activation induced by PD-1 blockade. In conclusion, simultaneous blockade of PD-1 and VEGFR2 induced a synergistic in-vivo anti-tumour effect, possibly through different mechanisms that might not be mutually exclusive.     Numerical Analysis of the Dislocation Density in Multicrystalline Silicon for Solar Cells by the Vertical Bridgman Process

    We studied the effects of cooling process on the generation of dislocations in multicrystalline silicon grown by the vertical Bridgman process. From the temperature field obtained by a global model, the stress relaxation and multiplication of dislocations were calculated using the Haasen-Alexander-Sumino model. It was found that the multiplication of dislocations is higher in fast cooling processes. It was confirmed that residual stress is low at high temperatures because the movement of the dislocations relaxes the thermal strain, while the residual stress increases with decreasing temperature, because of reduced motion of dislocations and formation of a strain field at lower temperatures

    Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements

    Synthetic Studies towards Communesins: Diastereoselective Oxidative Rearrangement of Aurantioclavine Derivatives

    Communesins are a class of heptacyclic indole alkaloids that contain two aminal moieties and two contiguous quaternary carbon centers. We have investigated the construction of the pentacyclic skeleton of the communesins by employing the oxidative rearrangement of aurantioclavine derivatives, which are believed to be biosynthetic intermediates of the polycyclic communesin alkaloids. The quaternary C-7 carbon center was constructed in a stereoselective manner, whereas the installation of the C-11 stereocenter requires an epimerization process. The isolation of a 2-ethoxyindolenine prior to the reduction of the nitro group and cyclization steps was critical to the success of this strategy. The pentacyclic skeleton of the communesins has been prepared by the oxidative rearrangement of aurantioclavine derivatives, which are believed to be biosynthetic intermediates of the communesin alkaloids. The quaternary C-7 carbon center was constructed in a stereoselective manner, and the isolation of a 2-ethoxyindolenine intermediate was critical to the success of the strategy
