A Tightly Secure Identity-based Signature Scheme from Isogenies
We present a tightly secure identity-based signature (IBS) scheme based on the supersingular isogeny problems. Although Shaw and Dutta proposed an isogeny-based IBS scheme with provable security, the security reduction is non-tight. For an IBS scheme with concrete security, the tightness of its security reduction affects the key size and signature size. Hence, it is reasonable to focus on a tight security proof for an isogeny-based IBS scheme. In this paper, we propose an isogeny-based IBS scheme based on the lossy CSI-FiSh signature scheme and give a tight security reduction for this scheme. While the existing isogeny-based IBS has the square-root advantage loss in the security proof, the security proof for our IBS scheme avoids such advantage loss, due to the properties of lossy CSI-FiSh
The formation and ordering of local magnetic moments in Fe-Al alloys
With density functional theory, studied are the local magnetic moments in
Fe-Al alloys depending on concentration and Fe nearest environment. At zero
temperature, the system can be in different states: ferromagnetic,
antiferromagnetic and spin-spiral waves (SSW) which has a minimum energy. Both
SSW and negative moment of Fe atoms with many Al atoms around them agree with
experiments. Magnetization curves taken from literature are analysed.

Methods for Reducing Leakage Electric Field of a Wireless Power Transfer System for Electric Vehicles
Abstract-A wireless power transfer system for electric vehicles has to deal with the issue of high leakage levels of electric field. In this paper, we propose two methods for reducing the leakage electric field. First is the use of ferrite to reduce the emitted leakage electric field to the environment. Second is the changing of the pulse width of the inverter to reduce the harmonics of leakage electric field. We present the experimental results of the reduction effects of leakage electric field. We also compared the leakage electric field using seriesparallel and series-series resonant capacitor topologies
Effect of short range order on electronic and magnetic properties of disordered Co based alloys
We here study electronic structure and magnetic properties of disordered CoPd
and CoPt alloys using Augmented Space Recursion technique coupled with the
tight-binding linearized muffin tin orbital (TB-LMTO) method. Effect of short
range ordering present in disordered phase of alloys on electronic and magnetic
properties has been discussed. We present results for magnetic moments, Curie
temperatures and electronic band energies with varying degrees of short range
order for different concentrations of Co and try to understand and compare the
magnetic properties and ordering phenomena in these systems.Comment: 15 pages,17 postscript figures, uses own style file
Lead-free piezoceramics - Where to move on?
Lead-free piezoceramics aiming at replacing the market-dominant lead-based ones have been extensively searched for more than a decade worldwide. Some noteworthy outcomes such as the advent of commercial products for certain applications have been reported, but the goal, i.e., the invention of a lead-free piezocermic, the performance of which is equivalent or even superior to that of PZT-based piezoceramics, does not seem to be fulfilled yet. Nevertheless, the academic effort already seems to be culminated, waiting for a guideline to a future research direction. We believe that a driving force for a restoration of this research field needs to be found elsewhere, for example, intimate collaborations with related industries. For this to be effectively realized, it would be helpful for academic side to understand the interests and demands of the industry side as well as to provide the industry with new scientific insights that would eventually lead to new applications. Therefore, this review covers some of the issues that are to be studied further and deeper, so-to-speak, lessons from the history of piezoceramics, and some technical issues that could be useful in better understanding the industry demands. As well, the efforts made in the industry side will be briefly introduced for the academic people to catch up with the recent trends and to be guided for setting up their future research direction effectively.ope
Structural, electronic, and magneto-optical properties of YVO
Optical and magneto-optical properties of YVO single crystal were studied
in FIR, visible, and UV regions. Two structural phase transitions at 75 K and
200 K were observed and established to be of the first and second order,
respectively. The lattice has an orthorhombic symmetry both above 200 K
as well as below 75 K, and is found to be dimerized monoclinic in
between. We identify YVO as a Mott-Hubbard insulator with the optical gap
of 1.6 eV. The electronic excitations in the visible spectrum are determined by
three -bands at 1.8, 2.4, and 3.3 eV, followed by the charge-transfer
transitions at about 4 eV. The observed structure is in good agreement with
LSDA+ band structure calculations. By using ligand field considerations, we
assigned these bands to the transitions to the , , and states. The strong temperature dependence of these
bands is in agreement with the formation of orbital order. Despite the small
net magnetic moment of 0.01 per vanadium, the Kerr effect of the order
of was observed for all three -bands in the magnetically
ordered phase . A surprisingly strong enhancement of
the Kerr effect was found below 75 K, reaching a maximum of . The
effect is ascribed to the non-vanishing net orbital magnetic moment.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev.
Self reporting RNA probes as an alternative to cleavable small molecule mass tags
The large size of biological molecules such as proteins and oligonucleotides makes them inherently problematic to analyse and quantify directly by mass spectrometry. For these molecules, electrospray ionisation produces multiply charged species and associated alkali metal adducts which can reduce sensitivity and complicate quantification. Whereas time-of-flight mass analysers, often coupled to matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation, can have insufficient mass resolution to resolve these large molecules in the higher m/z range. This has led to the development of cleavable small molecule mass tag approaches for the indirect analysis of biomolecules such as proteins and oligonucleotides. Existing methodologies require the design and synthesis of a cleavable linker to join the biomolecule and the mass tag. Here, an alternative approach to small molecule mass tags is presented, which exploits the properties of the RNA molecule to afford self-reporting probes which can be easily synthesised using automated phosphoramidite chemistry. The sugar-phosphate backbone of RNA was used as a built-in enzyme cleavable linker and through the use of RNase digestion of bromine labelled oligonucleotides the observation of a range of small molecule mass tags by mass spectrometry is demonstrated. This study provides a proof-of-concept that RNase digestion can be used to produce labelled small molecule mass tags from oligonucleotide probes, thus eliminating the need for custom design and synthesis of a cleavable linker
Topological orbital ladders
We unveil a topological phase of interacting fermions on a two-leg ladder of
unequal parity orbitals, derived from the experimentally realized double-well
lattices by dimension reduction. topological invariant originates simply
from the staggered phases of -orbital quantum tunneling, requiring none of
the previously known mechanisms such as spin-orbit coupling or artificial gauge
field. Another unique feature is that upon crossing over to two dimensions with
coupled ladders, the edge modes from each ladder form a parity-protected flat
band at zero energy, opening the route to strongly correlated states controlled
by interactions. Experimental signatures are found in density correlations and
phase transitions to trivial band and Mott insulators.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures, Revised title, abstract, and the discussion on
