    RPL LOAD BALANCING IN INTERNET OF THINGS

    ABSTRACT:  The wide address space provided by Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) lets any thing to be identified uniquely. consistency of the modified version of IPv6 protocol stack with smart objects, facilitated the Internet interconnection of the networks of smart objects and introduced Internet of things. A smart object is a small micro-electronic device that consists of a communication device, a small microprocessor and a sensor or an actuator. A network made of such devices is called low-power and lossy network. RPL routing protocol that is consistent to IPv6, is designed to be used in these kinds of networks. Load balancing is not considered in the RPL design process. Whenever RPL is used in large scale low-power and lossy networks some nodes will suffer from congestion and this problem severely degrades network performance. In this paper, we consider solutions provided to tackle RPL load balancing problems. Load balancing algorithms and protoclos are evaluated through simulation. We evaluate IETF RPL implementation and LB-RPL method with Contiki OS Java (COOJA) simulator. They are assessed comprehensively through metrics such as Packet delivery Ratio, Average End to End delay, and Gateway Throughput. LB-RPL improves RPL in terms of Packet delivery Ratio and throughput but increases Average End to End delay. Simulations results show that RPL load balancing needs extensive works to be performed yet

    Therapeutic Potential of Microvesicles in Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine of Ocular Diseases With an Especial Focus on Mesenchymal Stem Cells-Derived Microvesicles

    These days, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), because of immunomodulatory and pro-angiogenic abilities, are known as inevitable factors in regenerative medicine and cell therapy in different diseases such as ocular disorder. Moreover, researchers have indicated that exosome possess an essential potential in the therapeutic application of ocular disease. MSC-derived exosome (MSC-DE) have been identified as efficient as MSCs for treatment of eye injuries due to their small size and rapid diffusion all over the eye. MSC-DEs easily transfer their ingredients such as miRNAs, proteins, and cytokines to the inner layer in the eye and increase the reconstruction of the injured area. Furthermore, MSC-DEs deliver their immunomodulatory cargos in inflamed sites and inhibit immune cell migration, resulting in improvement of autoimmune uveitis. Interestingly, therapeutic effects were shown only in animal models that received MSC-DE. In this review, we summarized the therapeutic potential of MSCs and MSC-DE in cell therapy and regenerative medicine of ocular diseases

    Mapping local patterns of childhood overweight and wasting in low- and middle-income countries between 2000 and 2017

    A double burden of malnutrition occurs when individuals, household members or communities experience both undernutrition and overweight. Here, we show geospatial estimates of overweight and wasting prevalence among children under 5 years of age in 105 low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) from 2000 to 2017 and aggregate these to policy-relevant administrative units. Wasting decreased overall across LMICs between 2000 and 2017, from 8.4% (62.3 (55.1–70.8) million) to 6.4% (58.3 (47.6–70.7) million), but is predicted to remain above the World Health Organization’s Global Nutrition Target of <5% in over half of LMICs by 2025. Prevalence of overweight increased from 5.2% (30 (22.8–38.5) million) in 2000 to 6.0% (55.5 (44.8–67.9) million) children aged under 5 years in 2017. Areas most affected by double burden of malnutrition were located in Indonesia, Thailand, southeastern China, Botswana, Cameroon and central Nigeria. Our estimates provide a new perspective to researchers, policy makers and public health agencies in their efforts to address this global childhood syndemic

    Concurrent Bilateral Synchronous Testis Tumors of Different Histology: A Case Report

    Background: Bilateral synchronous testis germ cell tumors with different histopathology are not common. Case Presentation: Here, a case of 27-year-old male who is reported presented with bilateral testicular swellings. There was a high &#945;-fetoprotein level with bilateral lesions on scrotal USG. Bilateral orchiectomy was performed. According to pathology report, there was a right testicular seminoma and left testicular mixed germ cell tumor composed of seminoma, yolk sac tumor and embryonal carcinoma. Conclusion: He received one cycle of chemotherapy with BEP regimen

    , , 1 1 (Received 22 Aug, 2008; Accepted 24 Feb, 2008) Abstract Background and purpose: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy changed the treatment of renal stones. Beacause the widespread usage of ESWL (extra Corporeal shock wave lithotripsy) in the treatment of the Urinary tract stones, the effects of these waves on the surrounding tissues are not compeletly understood and it is the origin of so many studies.Materials and methods: In this prospective study 250 patients suffering from renal and upper ureteral stones were selected. Serum levels of ALT(Alanine Aminotransferase), AST(AspartateAminotransferase), Alkaline Phosphatase were measured in all of the patients before treatment with ESWL and these measurements repeated after the treatment , then these findings were compared. ANOVA test was used for the quantitative variables.Results: Before the treatment no Significant differences found between groups. But we found a significant elevation in enzymes after the treatment in comparison with their serum levels before treatment. Rising in serum enzymes had a direct correlation with the number of shock waves that were used for treatment. Enzymatic levels in the patients with right renal stones raised more and for longer period than the left side.Conclusion: After the treatment of renal stones with ESWL, serum leveles of ALT, AST and ALP will increase. If we use these waves at the right side and specially when we use more waves, this rising will be more significant and persist for longer period. Thus when we want to use these waves in the right side we must consider the amount of these waves and the intervals of the treatment. We recommend that in the patients with elevated liver enzymes level, gastrointestinal evaluation before treatment is necessary

    Both genomic instability and the presence of chronic inflammation are involved in carcinogenesis and tumor progression. These alterations predispose the cancer cells to undergo metabolic reprogramming as well as the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). These pathways allow cancer cells to avoid apoptosis and stimulate tumor progression. EMT is an important early event in tumor cell invasion, which can be regulated through inflammatory signaling pathways. Cancer cells undergoing EMT are vulnerable to cell death by the process of ferroptosis. Ferroptosis is a form of regulated cell death involving iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, designed to maintain cellular homeostasis. Several reports have linked ferroptosis, inflammation, and cancer. Ferroptosis inhibitors and EMT inducers have been used to understand the anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects in experimental models. A better understanding of the crosstalk between ferroptosis and EMT, and the involvment of inflammatory mediators may accelerate the discovery of therapeutic strategies to eradicate cancer cells and overcome drug-resistance

    Comparison of the prevalence of enteroviruses in blood samples of patients with and without unstable angina

    BACKGROUND: Although the role of enteroviruses has been proved in heart diseases, extensive information is not available on the association between enteroviruses and unstable angina. In the present study, the authors compared the prevalence of enteroviruses in patients with and without unstable angina. METHODS: Blood samples were taken from 51 patients with unstable angina and 55 patients without unstable angina or myocardial infarction that were admitted to Imam Reza and Ghaem hospitals (Mashhad, northeast of Iran). Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was performed using specific primers for the detection of the enteroviruses in blood samples of study subjects. RESULTS: Patients with and without unstable angina were similar in age with mean &plusmn; standard deviation of 62.6 &plusmn; 12.8 and 59.7 &plusmn; 12.7 years, respectively (P = 0.243) and there were no differences in gender in these two groups (P = 0.174). Prevalence of the enteroviruses in patients with unstable angina was higher only in 66-80 years age group compared to the control group (patients without unstable angina, P = 0.032). There was a higher prevalence of enterovirus RNA positivity in the blood samples of women with unstable angina (75.9%) than those without unstable angina (41.7%, P = 0.011), however, no significant difference was observed in men (P = 0.983). CONCLUSION: Our data showed that enteroviral RNA positivity was higher in patients with unstable angina compared to those without unstable angina.
