Effectiveness of Rhizophora mangle I cream at 50 % for the local treatment of AB skin burns

Se realizó un estudio experimental tipo ensayo clínico fase IIb controlado, monocéntrico, con el objetivo de evaluar la eficacia de la crema de Rhizophora mangle L al 50 % en el tratamiento local de quemaduras dérmicas AB. El universo de estudio estuvo conformado por 71 pacientes que acudieron al servicio de urgencia de Caumatología del Hospital “Celia Sánchez Manduley” de Manzanillo, con criterio de diagnóstico para la inclusión en la investigación en el período comprendido entre julio y octubre del 2009. La muestra estuvo integrada por 49 pacientes, los cuales fueron distribuidos de forma aleatoria en 2 grupos: el grupo A (control) recibió el tratamiento con los medicamentos industriales esenciales y el grupo B (experimental) recibió tratamiento con la crema de Rhizophora mangle L al 50 %. El resultado obtenido se evaluó a través del análisis estadístico por el método de prueba de hipótesis para la comparación de proporciones de grupos independientes, demostrándose que la crema de Rhizophora mangle L al 50 % es tan eficaz como el tratamiento convencional.It was performed a clinical experimental research of the controlled, monocentric phase IIb in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Rhizophora Mangle L at 50% for the treatment of AB skin burns. The universe consisted of 71 patients that came to the caumatology service at Celia Sanchez Manduley Hospital in Manzanillo with the diagnostic criterion for the inclussion in the investigation during the period from November 2008 to October 2009. The sample was made by 49 patients who were distributed at random into two groups, A and B.  Group A (control) received the treatment with conventional medications and group B (experimental) recieved the treatment with the Rhizophora mangle cream. The results obtained were evaluated through the statistical analysis with the hypothesis method for the comparison of proportion of independent groups, evidencing that the Rhizophora Mangle L cream is as efficient as the conventional treatment

APLICACIÓN DE LA GUÍA DE ORIENTACIONES METODOLÓGICAS BIOQUÍMICA - I PARA MULTIPERFIL

This work answers to the needs of methodological and teaching preparation of biochemistry professionals who contribute to the formation of high degree professionals of health technology. There are some current programs though the methodological guidelines do notsatisfy the professors’ needs and they did not count with a methodological guide that would contribute to the teachers’ preparation to get a high quality. The aforesaid aspects motivate us to develop methodological guidelines that may help with the lesson plans with the objective to propose the methodological components required to the teachers preparedness, this material establishes the criteria according to the teaching learning process, favouring the analysis of laws, theories, basic concepts and the phenomena that must be explained since the specific points of this science. The guide was applied in the Medical Science Filial of Manzanillo and the seats located at policlinics 1 and 3.Its application showed higher results than the previous ones, satisfying the needs of our environment.El presente trabajo responde a las necesidades de la preparación docente metodológicas de los profesionales en bioquímica que tienen la misión de contribuir en la formación de profesionales en las ciencias médicas de alta calidad en la carrera en Tecnología de la Salud Las orientaciones metodológicas que sugieren los programas no satisfacen las necesidades de los profesores y Aunque contamos con los programas actualizados se enfrentaron limitaciones como:a) Las orientaciones metodológicas no satisfacen las necesidades de los profesores.b) No existía una guía metodológica orientadora de la signatura que contribuyera a lapreparación de los docentes con mayor calidad. Esto nos motivó a realizar una Guía de Orientaciones Metodológicas en este programa que responda a los planes de estudio vigentes, con el objetivo de proponer los componentes metodológicos necesarios para facilitar la preparación de los profesores. Este material establece una unidad de criterios en cuanto a los componentes pedagógicos del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje, facilitando el análisis de leyes, teorías, conceptos básicos y fenómenos que deben ser explicados desde las particularidades de esta ciencia. Lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the vulva, an underrecognized entity? Case report with a single inguinal micrometastasis detected by sentinel node technique

This report describes an unusual EBV-negative lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the vulva in a 73-year-old patient. The lesion was localised at the right minor labium and was resected by partial vulvectomy. A synchronous sentinel lymph node biopsy revealed a single micrometastasis in the right inguinal region, which prompted local radiotherapy. Follow-up nine months later showed only slight vulvar atrophy, without signs of local recurrence or distant metastases

Imitation - ett vanligt fenomen hos barn

Sammanfattning: Vi kom i kontakt med fenomenet imitation, vi blev nyfikna på ämnet, vår nyfikenhet ökades genom att vi stötte på pedagoger som ansåg att imitation var en källa till problem. Därför ville vi forska vidare för att se om det förhöll sig så eller om imitation var en inlärningsstrategi hos barnen i förskolan, ålder ett till fem år. Vår undersökningsmetod blev att vi läste tidigare forskning i ämnet och sedan valde vi dessutom att observera förskolebarn i lekmiljö, med hjälp av videoobservationer, som vi sedan analyserade. Utifrån tidigare forskning och utifrån våra observationer så kom vi till slutsatsen att imitation är en inlärningsstrategi, det är relativt generellt förekommande. Imitation förekommer i många olika situationer, barn kan imitera andra barn eller vuxna. Imitation är enligt tidigare forskning framförallt viktigt för språkutvecklingen, det sociala samspelet och symboltänkande Språket är en viktig tyngdpunkt för barnens utveckling, alla barnen har inte ett ordföråd men genom imitation så kan barnen härma varandra och på så sett lära sig nya ord. Även symboltänkade är viktigt att utveckla i den här åldren för att barnen ska kunna ta till sig undervisningen i skolan

"I saw a tiger"... but did I see a true-crime? : En studie i den historiska utvecklingen av true-crime och serien the Tiger King.

Denna studie har i syfte att nå utökad kunskap inom genren true-crime, dess historiska utveckling samt senaste tillskott. Studiens metodik består av såväl en litteraturstudie av tidigare forskning som en narrativanalys av serien The Tiger King. Tre kompletterande frågeställningar har framställts i syfte att vägleda studien och dess disposition. Det teoretiska ramverket består av genreteori och teorier i narrativanalys från Gerard Genette och Ian Punnett. Litteraturstudien, som är presenterad kronologiskt, identifierar ett antal intentionsmässiga utvecklingar för true-crimes historia. Dessa intentioner består av sensation, verklighetsrapportering, underhållning samt oskyldighetsrevolution. Den narrativa analysen av serien the Tiger King är uppdelad och analyseras kronologiskt utefter sina sju avsnitt. Analysen tyder på en stundvis avsaknad av narrativa aspekter som är väsentliga för true-crime och inslag av såväl sensationella som underhållande intentioner. Resultaten av litteraturstudien och den narrativa analysen sammanställs för studiens tredje frågeställning där the Tiger King behandlas utifrån genrens historiska utveckling. Förändringar i narrativets tidsaspekter, mängden avbildade aktörer och porträtteringen av rättsväsendet identifierades i studiens jämförelseanalys. Genrens mest uppseendeväckande förändring var dess porträtterande av offer och anklagade, samt hur dessa roller blivit ombytta. Dessa resultat leder studien till en diskussion kring genrens framtida utveckling och att the Tiger King kan innebära att true-crime genren återgår till underhållande intentioner. Studien diskuterar slutligen huruvida utvecklingarna inom genren dessutom tyder på en större samhällsförändring av attityderna mot brott och straff.

Strategic management of corporate value chain emissions - Exploring the drivers and barriers for scope 3 management

Problem definition In recent years companies have developed carbon management strategies (CMS) in order to take greater responsibility for their climate impact. However, these have focused on direct emission sources, neglecting substantial emissions downstream and upstream in the value chain. This presents a problem since emission reduction efforts might be misdirected, resulting in ineffective CMS. To address this issue, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol developed the scope 3 emission standard, yet, adoption is slow and companies are struggling. Purpose The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of scope 3 emission management by investigating the drivers as to why companies choose to manage their emissions in scope 3, and the barriers for future development. Methodology In order to fulfill the purpose of this study, a qualitative interview study was conducted with a sample of eleven large Swedish corporations. The results were analyzed with support from a theoretical framework that was established based on acknowledged theories from the field of CMS, as well as previous findings regarding scope 3 emission management. Conclusions The main driver to scope 3 management was found to be perceived profitability, still, because of the barriers of external uncertainty and measurement difficulties, it remains unclear whether scope 3 management really generates increased profits or reduced emissions. For further improvement of scope 3 management, an interplay between senior leadership in companies and policy makers is required in order to provide the right conditions for development
