    Search-Based Model Transformations

    Get PDF
Huge efforts have been invested in the last decade concerning the establishment of dedicated analysis methods and techniques for model transformations. The analysis of general properties such as termination and confluence as well as specific properties defined for one particular transformation have been studied for different transformation kinds and languages. What most transformation analyses have in common is that they consider the transformation specifications as their primary source. However, as I will show in my presentation, methods and techniques deployed for analysing potential transformation executions at runtime are needed as well. As transformation executions quickly span huge transformation spaces, I will show how to effectively analyse and guide transformation executions towards fulfilling multiple, potentially conflicting transformation goals by employing search-based techniques.Universidad de Málaga. Rational extensions of the representation ring global functor and a splitting of global equivariant KK-theory

We identify the group of homomorphisms HomGF(F,RUQ)\operatorname{Hom}_{\mathcal{GF}}(F,\mathbf{RU}_{\mathbb Q}) in the category of (fin\operatorname{fin})-global functors to the rationalization of the unitary representation ring functor and deduce that the higher Ext\operatorname{Ext}-groups ExtGFn(F,RUQ)\operatorname{Ext}^n_{\mathcal{GF}}(F,\mathbf{RU}_{\mathbb Q}), n2n\geq 2 have to vanish. This leads to a rational splitting of the (fin\operatorname{fin})-global equivariant KK-theory spectrum into a sum of Eilenberg-MacLane spectra. Interpreted in terms of cohomology theories, it means that the equivariant Chern character is compatible with restrictions along all group homomorphisms.Comment: 10 page

    Intercultural Polylogues in Philosophy

Statement to Panel "Intercultural Dialogue", 29th Wittgenstein-Conference of the ALWS Kirchberg am Wechsel, August 11th 2006. Other statements, in the order of contribution, have been given by: Mohammed Shomali (Qom, Iran), Patrick Riordan SJ (London, UK), and Eveline Goodman-Thau (Jerusalem, Israel) Since this is a conference of philosophers about philosophy and matters relevant to philosophy, I shall not talk about intercultural dialogues in general, nor will I speak about dialogues in the fields of religion or culture (fields which have to be distinguished, by the way), dialogues between politicians, etc. My statement will try to concentrate on intercultural dialogues in philosophy. This means, according to my understanding of "philosophy", that I have in mind essentially dialogues on ontological, on epistemological, or on normative questions

Ferromagnetic one dimensional Ti atomic chain

Using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FLAPW) method, we have explored the magnetic properties of one dimensional (1D) Ti atomic chain. Astonishingly, we for the first time observed that the 1D Ti atomic chain has ferromagnetic ground state even on NiAl(110) surface although the Ti has no magnetic moment in bulk or macroscopic state. It was found that the physical property of direct exchange interaction among Ti atoms occurred in free standing state is well preserved on NiAl(110) surface and this feature has an essential role in ferromagnetism of 1D Ti atomic chain. It was shown that the m=2|2| state has the largest contribution to the magnetic moment of Ti atom grown on NiAl(110) surface. In addition, we found that the magnetic dipole interaction is a key factor in the study of magnetic anisotropy, not the magnetocrystalline anisotropy arising from spin-orbit interaction

Initial inventory levels for a book publishing firm = Kezdőkészletek egy könyvkiadó vállalatnál

Cél a költségek minimalizálása. = The aim of the paper is to analyze a practical real world problem. A publishing house is given. The publishing firm has contacts to a number of wholesaler / retailer enterprises and direct contact to customers to satisfy the market demand. The book publishers work in a project industry. The publisher faces with the problem to allocate the stocks of a given, newly published book to the wholesaler and retailer, and to hold some copies to satisfy the customers direct from the publisher. The distribution of the demand is unknown, but it can be estimated. The costs consist of inventory holding and shortage, backorder costs. The decision maker wants to minimize these relevant costs. The problem can be modeled as a one-warehouse and N-retailer supply chain with not identical demand distribution. The problem structure is similar that of a newsvendor model. It is assumed that the demand distribution follows a Poisson distribution

Buyback and return policies for a book publishing firm = Egy könyvkiadó vállalat visszavásárlási stratégiája

A könyvkiadók projekt rendszerben működnek. = The aim of the paper is to analyze a practical real world problem. A publishing house is given. Development journalism out of date?

The mass media occupy a central position within the processes of social change in Africa. Since successful journalism education can be formative for the further development of the African communication sector, the authors investigate the borderland of theoretical systematisation and empirical research of journalism. This is carried out via the following steps: (1) Firstly, the theoretical and practical basis of the phenomenon of development journalism is exposed and it is referred to its connection to journalism education in Africa. (2) Through the evaluation of African journalism education on the basis of training locations and programmes, the authors are able to pursue the question, which position development journalism takes in current journalism education. (3) The preliminary results show an expansion and differentiation in journalism education in Africa. In principle, this is a positive process, which, however, does not take place to a high extent
