    MODELLING OF URBAN TRAFFIC FLOW

    In this paper non-deterministic motion of urban traffic is studied under certain assumptions. Based on those assumptions discrete and continuous mathematical models are developed: continuous model is written as the Cauchy initial-value problem for the integro-differential equation, whence among other things it is obtained the Fokker-Planck equation. Besides, the sufficient condition ensuring the mathematical legitimacy of the developed continuous model is formulated

    Charming-loop contribution to BsγγB_s\to \gamma\gamma decay

    We present a detailed theoretical study of nonfactorizable contributions of the charm-quark loop to the amplitude of the BsγγB_s\to \gamma\,\gamma decay. This contribution involves the BB-meson three-particle Bethe-Salpeter amplitude, 0sˉ(y)Gμν(x)b(0)Bˉs(p)\langle 0|\bar s(y)G_{\mu\nu}(x)b(0)|\bar B_s(p)\rangle, for which we take into account constraints from analyticity and continuity. The charming-loop contribution of interest may be described as a correction to the Wilson coefficient C7γC_{7\gamma}, C7γC7γ(1+δC7γ)C_{7\gamma}\to C_{7\gamma}(1+\delta C_{7\gamma}). We calculate an explicit dependence of δC7γ\delta C_{7\gamma} on the parameter λBs\lambda_{B_s}. Taking into account all theoretical uncertainties, δC7γ\delta C_{7\gamma} may be predicted with better than 10\% accuracy for any given value of λBs\lambda_{B_s}. For our benchmark point λBs=0.45\lambda_{B_s}=0.45 GeV, we obtain δC7γ=0.045±0.004\delta C_{7\gamma}=0.045\pm 0.004. Presently, λBs\lambda_{B_s} is not known with high accuracy, but its value is expected to lie in the range 0.3λBs(GeV)0.60.3\le \lambda_{B_s}({\rm GeV})\le 0.6. The corresponding range of δC7γ\delta C_{7\gamma} is found to be 0.02δC7γ0.10.02\le \delta C_{7\gamma}\le 0.1. One therefore expects the correction given by charming loops at the level of at least a few percent.Comment: 21 page

    The decay constant for the vector state of 3S3S-level in the heavy (bˉc)(\bar b c)-quarkonium is evaluated in the framework of sum rules for the mesonic currents. A scaling relation for the constants of vector quarkonia with different quark contents is derived. The numerical estime gives Γ(Bc+(3S)B+D0)=90±35\Gamma(B_c^{*+}(3S)\to B^+D^0)=90 \pm 35 MeV.Comment: 6 pages, Revte

    Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay B0→K∗0μ+μ−

    The angular distribution and differential branching fraction of the decay B 0→ K ∗0 μ + μ − are studied using a data sample, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1. Several angular observables are measured in bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared, q 2. A first measurement of the zero-crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system is also presented. The zero-crossing point is measured to be q20=4.9±0.9GeV2/c4 , where the uncertainty is the sum of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions

    Search for CP violation in D+→ϕπ+ and D+s→K0Sπ+ decays

    A search for CP violation in D + → ϕπ + decays is performed using data collected in 2011 by the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 at a centre of mass energy of 7 TeV. The CP -violating asymmetry is measured to be (−0.04 ± 0.14 ± 0.14)% for candidates with K − K + mass within 20 MeV/c 2 of the ϕ meson mass. A search for a CP -violating asymmetry that varies across the ϕ mass region of the D + → K − K + π + Dalitz plot is also performed, and no evidence for CP violation is found. In addition, the CP asymmetry in the D+s→K0Sπ+ decay is measured to be (0.61 ± 0.83 ± 0.14)%

    Model-independent search for CP violation in D0→K−K+π−π+ and D0→π−π+π+π− decays

    A search for CP violation in the phase-space structures of D0 and View the MathML source decays to the final states K−K+π−π+ and π−π+π+π− is presented. The search is carried out with a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 collected in 2011 by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. For the K−K+π−π+ final state, the four-body phase space is divided into 32 bins, each bin with approximately 1800 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 9.1%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 6.5% observed. The phase space of the π−π+π+π− final state is partitioned into 128 bins, each bin with approximately 2500 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 41%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 5.5% observed. All results are consistent with the hypothesis of no CP violation at the current sensitivity

    Observation of two new Ξb\Xi_b^- baryon resonances

    Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the Ξb0π\Xi_b^0 \pi^- mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb1^{-1} recorded by the LHCb experiment. In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content bdsbds are expected in this mass region: the spin-parity JP=12+J^P = \frac{1}{2}^+ and JP=32+J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+ states, denoted Ξb\Xi_b^{\prime -} and Ξb\Xi_b^{*-}. Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass differences and the width of the heavier state to be m(Ξb)m(Ξb0)m(π)=3.653±0.018±0.006m(\Xi_b^{\prime -}) - m(\Xi_b^0) - m(\pi^{-}) = 3.653 \pm 0.018 \pm 0.006 MeV/c2/c^2, m(Ξb)m(Ξb0)m(π)=23.96±0.12±0.06m(\Xi_b^{*-}) - m(\Xi_b^0) - m(\pi^{-}) = 23.96 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.06 MeV/c2/c^2, Γ(Ξb)=1.65±0.31±0.10\Gamma(\Xi_b^{*-}) = 1.65 \pm 0.31 \pm 0.10 MeV, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The width of the lighter state is consistent with zero, and we place an upper limit of Γ(Ξb)<0.08\Gamma(\Xi_b^{\prime -}) < 0.08 MeV at 95% confidence level.     Search for the lepton-flavor-violating decays Bs0→e±μ∓ and B0→e±μ∓

    A search for the lepton-flavor-violating decays Bs0→e±μ∓ and B0→e±μ∓ is performed with a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0  fb-1 of pp collisions at √s=7  TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment. The observed number of Bs0→e±μ∓ and B0→e±μ∓ candidates is consistent with background expectations. Upper limits on the branching fractions of both decays are determined to be B(Bs0→e±μ∓)101  TeV/c2 and MLQ(B0→e±μ∓)>126  TeV/c2 at 95% C.L., and are a factor of 2 higher than the previous bounds
