Statek jako peculium w rzymskim prawie klasycznym
Classical Roman Law sources contain information about the ship managed by the servus peculiaris. Although there are many jurists’ opinions about conducting seaborne business by the servus peculiaris, there are none regarding the obtaining of the ship. How the ship was transferred to the slave? Was the maritime business the whole peculium or just a part of it? Servus peculiaris was acting as the exercitor navis, this means that rules regarding the appointment of the captain (preapositio) cannot be applied. What rules should apply to the ship if it was administered as the peculium? The aim of this paper is to provide the answers to those questions
Powstanie peculium (permissus domini, constituere peculium, concessio peculii) w rzymskim prawie klasycznym
The aim of this paper is to analyse legal terminology connected with the creation of the peculium. There are three terms in classical law sources: permissus domini, constituere peculium and concessio peculii. Permissus domini was the owner’s permission for a slave to hold a peculium. I think that constituere peculium was the creation of the peculium by the master, who separated part of his patrimonium and gave it to the slave as his property. Concessio peculii had, in my opinion, two meanings. Firstly, it could mean physical separation and the grant of peculium to the slave. Secondly, it could mean an assent to have any property acquired and held peculii nomine. The most important sources are the defi nition of the peculium created by Tubero (1st century B.C.) and repeated by Celsus and Ulpianus (2nd and 3rd century A.D.) and opinions of Pomponius (2nd century A.D.) all cited in Justinian’s Digest (6th century A.D.)
The SWI/SNF ATP-Dependent Chromatin Remodeling Complex in Arabidopsis Responds to Environmental Changes in Temperature-Dependent Manner
SWI/SNF ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complexes (CRCs) play important roles in the regulation of transcription, cell cycle, DNA replication, repair, and hormone signaling in eukaryotes. The core of SWI/SNF CRCs composed of a SWI2/SNF2 type ATPase, a SNF5 and two of SWI3 subunits is sufficient for execution of nucleosome remodeling in vitro. The Arabidopsis genome encodes four SWI2/SNF2 ATPases, four SWI3, a single SNF5 and two SWP73 subunits. Genes of the core SWI/SNF components have critical but not fully overlapping roles during plant growth, embryogenesis, and sporophyte development. Here we show that the Arabidopsis swi3c mutant exhibits a phenotypic reversion when grown at lower temperature resulting in partial restoration of its embryo, root development and fertility defects. Our data indicates that the swi3c mutation alters the expression of several genes engaged in low temperature responses. The location of SWI3C-containing SWI/SNF CRCs on the ICE1, MYB15 and CBF1 target genes depends on the temperature conditions, and the swi3c mutation thus also influences the transcription of several cold-responsive (COR) genes. These findings, together with genetic analysis of swi3c/ice1 double mutant and enhanced freezing tolerance of swi3c plants illustrate that SWI/SNF CRCs contribute to fine-tuning of plant growth responses to different temperature regimes
Remission of HPV infection after LEEP-conization — a retrospective study
Objectives: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. Long-term exposure to the HPV is a known cause of squamous intraepithelial lesions that consequently lead to cervical cancer development. The loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) conization is an established early cervical cancer treatment method. We aim to assess the remission of HPV infection after LEEP in non-vaccinated patients with pre-cancerous cervical lesions and establish the efficacy of cervical cancer prophylaxis.
Material and methods: We analyzed 31 LEEP conizations performed due to low and high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions in 2019–2020. We obtained molecular test samples and detected DNA of 37 different HPV genotypes. After a six-month follow-up, each patient underwent subsequent high-risk HPV testing and genotyping.
Results: We observed that 54.8% of qualified patients were infected with HPV 16. We discovered complete viral remission in 64.5% of cases. After surgery, margins were negative in 71% of the patient's samples. During the follow-up, six patients got infected with new strains of HPV.
Conclusions: We found that a correctly performed LEEP conization may contribute to the remission of persistent HPV infection; a more extended follow-up period might be recommended due to a high rate of post-surgery HPV infections

Calorimeters for the FCC-hh
The future proton-proton collider (FCC-hh) will deliver collisions at a
center of mass energy up to TeV at an unprecedented
instantaneous luminosity of cms, resulting in
extremely challenging radiation and luminosity conditions. By delivering an
integrated luminosity of few tens of ab, the FCC-hh will provide an
unrivalled discovery potential for new physics. Requiring high sensitivity for
resonant searches at masses up to tens of TeV imposes strong constraints on the
design of the calorimeters. Resonant searches in final states containing jets,
taus and electrons require both excellent energy resolution at multi-TeV
energies as well as outstanding ability to resolve highly collimated decay
products resulting from extreme boosts. In addition, the FCC-hh provides the
unique opportunity to precisely measure the Higgs self-coupling in the
di-photon and b-jets channel. Excellent photon and jet energy resolution at low
energies as well as excellent angular resolution for pion background rejection
are required in this challenging environment. This report describes the
calorimeter studies for a multi-purpose detector at the FCC-hh. The calorimeter
active components consist of Liquid Argon, scintillating plastic tiles and
Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors technologies. The technological choices, design
considerations and achieved performances in full Geant4 simulations are
discussed and presented. The simulation studies are focused on the evaluation
of the concepts. Standalone studies under laboratory conditions as well as
first tests in realistic FCC-hh environment, including pileup rejection
capabilities by making use of fast signals and high granularity, have been
performed. These studies have been performed within the context of the
preparation of the FCC conceptual design reports (CDRs)
Azimuthal anisotropy of charged jet production in root s(NN)=2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions
We present measurements of the azimuthal dependence of charged jet production in central and semi-central root s(NN) = 2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions with respect to the second harmonic event plane, quantified as nu(ch)(2) (jet). Jet finding is performed employing the anti-k(T) algorithm with a resolution parameter R = 0.2 using charged tracks from the ALICE tracking system. The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. Significant non-zero nu(ch)(2) (jet) is observed in semi-central collisions (30-50% centrality) for 20 <p(T)(ch) (jet) <90 GeV/c. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the nu(2) of single charged particles at high p(T). Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
