Статтю присвячено аналізу дитячої періодики України, зокрема її змістовно-формальним чинникам і типології. Визначено основні типологічні характеристики цих видань. Окреслено своєрідність журналу «Барвінок» як найстарішого українського дитячого видання. (The article is devoted to the analysis of child prose in Ukraine, including its content and formality factors and typologies. Peculiarity of the magazine «Barvinok» is highlighted, due to the fact that it is also the oldest Ukrainian magazine for children. The modern world is extremely rapidly changing, and it is erroneous to think of preserving the child’s world, less tolerance of change, the existence of solid constants in its dimensions and characteristics. «Eternal» themes require a new interpretation. Consequently, the constant «exploitation» of long-established products can be considered as a result of ignoring the peculiarities of the psychology of modern children, their increased ability to perceive abstractions, symbols, metaphors, ignoring their level of development and awareness. The typological structure of the Ukrainian children’s press is undergoing radical changes. Researchers are confronted with volatility, mobility of typological characteristics, even within a single edition. The ambiguity, contradiction and instability of these tendencies indicate a fundamental incompleteness of the transformation process. Hence - difficulties in the classification of publications. In order to bring all editions into the system, they must be classified. The first question that arises when creating any classification - is the choice of the main feature (basis) of the division of the studied plurality of objects. As a sign of division for the classification of modern children’s magazines and newspapers, we have chosen a special purpose. This feature, in our opinion, is the most complete and general reflection of the meaning of the division of children’s publications.

Super-heavy fermion material as metallic refrigerant for adiabatic demagnetization cooling

Low-temperature refrigeration is of crucial importance in fundamental research of condensed matter physics, as the investigations of fascinating quantum phenomena, such as superconductivity, superfluidity and quantum criticality, often require refrigeration down to very low temperatures. Currently, cryogenic refrigerators with 3^3He gas are widely used for cooling below 1 Kelvin. However, usage of the gas is being increasingly difficult due to the current world-wide shortage. Therefore, it is important to consider alternative methods of refrigeration. Here, we show that a new type of refrigerant, super-heavy electron metal, YbCo2_2Zn20_{20}, can be used for adiabatic demagnetization refrigeration, which does not require 3He gas. A number of advantages includes much better metallic thermal conductivity compared to the conventional insulating refrigerants. We also demonstrate that the cooling performance is optimized in Yb1x_{1-x}Scx_xCo2_2Zn20_{20} by partial Sc substitution with xx\sim0.19. The substitution induces chemical pressure which drives the materials close to a zero-field quantum critical point. This leads to an additional enhancement of the magnetocaloric effect in low fields and low temperatures enabling final temperatures well below 100 mK. Such performance has up to now been restricted to insulators. Since nearly a century the same principle of using local magnetic moments has been applied for adiabatic demagnetization cooling. This study opens new possibilities of using itinerant magnetic moments for the cryogen-free refrigeration

Observations on Greek Feminine Names Attested in Macedonia

The Sea as a Factor for the Formation of Greek Personal Names

The imposing presence of the sea and the admiration for it is reflected in Greek  mythology, visual arts and literature; the relation of many Greek gods to the sea has been expressed with a long series of epithets that emphasize this connection as weIl as with the formation of many personal names derived from their names, the numerous theophoric names easily recognizable

    ANCIENT BEROIA: PROSOPOGRAPHY AND SOCIETY

    No full text
IN THE INTRODUCTION (P. 1-26) THE TERRITORY OF BEROIA IS DEFINED AND THE MAIN EPIGRAPHICAL AND PHILOLOGICAL SOURCES FOR THE PROSOPOGRAPHY ARE DISCUSSED. A BIBLIOGRAPHICAL APPROACH TO THE INSCRIPTIONS IS GIVEN WITH A PRESENTATION OF THE RELEVANT PUBLICATION IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER; A DISCUSSION FOLLOWS ON THE DATING OF THE INSCRIPTIONS AND ANOTHER ON THE METHOD OF THE PROSOPOGRAPHY. THE PROSOPOGRAPHY TAKES UP THE 1ST PART OF THE WORK (P. 27-265); IT CONSISTS OF 1394PERSONS, INHABITANTS OR VISITORS OF THE CITY FOR A PERIOD OF SEVEN CENTURIES (400 B.C.-300 A.D.) THE 1ST CHAPTER OF PART TWO EXAMINES THE PERSONAL NAMES (P. 266-292); CATEGORIES OF NAMES HAVE BEEN DISTINGUISHED, AND THE TIME OF THE APPEARANCE OF NEW CATEGORIES IS POINTED OUT, WHILE THE DISTRIBUTION OF NAMES IS INVESTIGATED THROUGH OUT THE REST OF ANCIENT MACEDONIA AND IN MANY CASES THROUGHOUT THE BROADER GREEK SPEAKING AREA. IN THE NEXT CHAPTER THE EXAMINATION OF THE SOCIETY IS ATTEMPTED IN UNITS WHICH COVER: A) THE PERIOD OF THE MACEDONIAN KINGDOM (P. 302-312), B) THE PERIOD 167 BC TO THE END OF THE 1ST CENTURY AD(P. 315-27), C) THE 2ND AND 3RD CENTURY AD (P. 327-53). THE ANALYSIS OF FUNERARY INSCRIPTIONS (P. 354-61) LEADS, AMONG OTHER THINGS, TO AN APPROACH OF THE SMALLEST SOCIAL GROUP, THE FAMILY. THE WORK IS ACCOMPANIED BY PLATES (I-VI), AMAP AND PHOTOGRAPHS (1-10).ΣΤΗΝ ΕΙΣΑΓΩΓΗ (Σ. 1-26) ΟΡΙΖΕΤΑΙ Η ΧΩΡΑ ΤΗΣ ΑΡΧΑΙΑΣ ΒΕΡΟΙΑΣ ΚΑΙ ΓΙΝΕΤΑΙ ΛΟΓΟΣ ΓΙΑ ΤΙΣ ΠΗΓΕΣ ΤΗΣ ΠΡΟΣΩΠΟΓΡΑΦΙΑΣ, ΕΠΙΓΡΑΦΙΚΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΦΙΛΟΛΟΓΙΚΕΣ.
