Analisis Pemanfaatan Pelayanan Pertolongan Persalinan Non Tenaga
Kesehatan oleh Ibu Bersalin di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur (Studi Kasus di
Puskesmas Ueesi)
xv + 117 halaman + 14 tabel + 7 gambar + 20 lampiran
wilayah kerja Puskesmas Ueesi.
tergolong mudah dikarenakan dukun menerapkan metode “jemput bola” 2) Biaya
persalinan dapat dijangkau oleh informan. Faktor reinforcing : Keluarga dan
sebagian toma mendukung pelayanan tradisional sedangkan beberapa toma

Utilisation Analysis of Traditional Birth Attendants Service by Mother of
Birth in East Kolaka Regency (A Case Study at Ueesi Health Centre)
xv + 177 pages + 14 tables + 7 figures + 20 appendices
Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) are a phenomenon occurred in a
community and need to be evaluated. Coverage of delivery helped by health
workers was low (68%). Therefore, there needs to analyse service utilisation of
TBAs by mother of birth in a work area of Ueesi Health Centre.
This was a qualitative study using a phenomenological approach. Subjects
consisted of mothers of births in the past one year who lived in highland (4
persons) and lowland (4 persons) areas in the work area of Ueesi Health Centre.
Data were collected by conducting indepth interview and analysed using a
method of content analysis.
The results of this study showed that regarding predisposing factors, 1)
informants could explain about healthy delivery but they could not explain safe
delivery; 2) informants preferred to choose TBAs; and 3) informants were more
trust to TBAs. Regarding enabling factors, 1) there was easy to access TBAs
because they were proactive in visiting pregnant women; 2) the cost of delivery
was affordable. Regarding reinforcing factors, families and a part of community
leaders supported TBAs otherwise the rest of them did not utilise TBAs service.
A strategy to minimise number of TBAs needs to be arranged. Education to
improve awareness to utilise health workers service in helping delivery process
needs to be provided.

Experimental and numerical investigations of the optical and thermal aspects of a PCM-glazed unit
This paper reports on the thermal and optical characterisation of PCM (phase change material) RT27 using the T-history method and spectrophotometry principles, respectively, and the experimental and numerical performance evaluation of a PCM-glazed unit. Various relationships describing the variations in the extinction, scattering and absorption coefficients within the phase change region were developed, and were validated in a numerical CFD model. The results show that: (i) during rapid phase changes, the transmittance spectra from the PCM are unstable, while under stable conditions visible transmittance values of 90% and 40% are obtained for the liquid and phases, respectively; (ii) the radiation scattering effects are dominant in the solid phase of the PCM, while radiation absorption dominates in the liquid phase; (iii) the optical/radiation performance of PCM can be successfully modelled using the liquid fraction term as the main variable; (iv) the addition of PCM improves the thermal mass of the unit during phase change, but risks of overheating may be a significant factor after the PCM has melted; (v) although the day-lighting aspects of PCM-glazed units are favourable, the change in appearance as the PCM changes phase may be a limiting factor in PCM-glazed units
Study on Different Range of NIR Sensor Measurement for Different Concentration of Glucose Solution
The development of noninvasive methods to replace the conventional finger pricking method to measure the blood glucose concentration is developing rapidly. This study was conducted to evaluate different wavelength of near infrared (NIR) sensors that is going to be the best in measuring the glucose concentration samples that was prepared. Three different wavelengths of NIR sensor are used for the testing, 800 nm, 940 nm and 950 nm. Several experiments were conducted to find the relationship between the output voltages and glucose concentration. The results of the experiments proved that the linear relationship between output voltages and glucose concentration is significant for all NIR sensors used and the NIR sensor with a wavelength of 940 nm shows the best fit
A crucial role for the ubiquitously expressed transcription factor Sp1 at early stages of hematopoietic specification
Mammalian development is regulated by the interplay of tissue-specific and ubiquitously expressed transcription factors, such as Sp1. Sp1 knockout mice die in utero with multiple phenotypic aberrations, but the underlying molecular mechanism of this differentiation failure has been elusive. Here, we have used conditional knockout mice as well as the differentiation of mouse ES cells as a model with which to address this issue. To this end, we examine
Zeta function method and repulsive Casimir forces for an unusual pair of plates at finite temperature
We apply the generalized zeta function method to compute the Casimir energy
and pressure between an unusual pair of parallel plates at finite temperature,
namely: a perfectly conducting plate and an infinitely permeable one. The high
and low temperature limits of these quantities are discussed; relationships
between high and low temperature limits are estabkished by means of a modified
version of the temperature inversion symmetry.Comment: latex file 9 pages, 3 figure
Linking the trans-Planckian and the information loss problems in black hole physics
The trans-Planckian and information loss problems are usually discussed in
the literature as separate issues concerning the nature of Hawking radiation.
Here we instead argue that they are intimately linked, and can be understood as
"two sides of the same coin" once it is accepted that general relativity is an
effective field theory.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures. Replaced with the version to be published in

Persistence of Ebola virus RNA in some body fluids of Ebola virus disease (EVD) survivors – the Nigerian experience
Introduction: Ebola virus (EBOV) has been shown to persist in some body fluids of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) survivors with implication for future transmission particularly in Nigeria where EVD was experienced for the first time in 2014. Thus, this paper was aimed at providing information on the duration of persistence of EBOV in Nigeria. Materials and Methods: Ten consenting EVD survivors were enrolled. Baseline specimens; urine and semen (males), urine and high vaginal swab (HVS) (females) were obtained within one month after discharge from the Ebola Treatment Centre (ETC) and subsequently every fortnight. Samples were analyzed using quantitative Real-Star Filovirus Screen RT-PCR kit 1.0 at the National Reference Laboratory in Lagos. Results: Ten EVD survivors comprising 4 (40%) males and 6 (60%) females with age ranges of 28 to >33 years (mean age: 33.0 ± 6.9 years) were evaluated. EBOV RNA was not detected in the urine of all the participants and HVS from the females. However, EBOV RNA was detected in the semen of all 4 (100%) male participants at baseline, and at 2 months after discharge from the ETC. Two men were still positive for EBOV RNA 4 months after discharge from the ETC despite persistent negative vireamia. Conclusions: Our data confirm that a negative viremia in the convalescent period is not predictive of the absence of the virus in semen. Despite an early clearance of the virus from the urine and HVS, there was persistence of EBOV RNA in semen of male survivors 4 months after recovery
Increased complications of COVID-19 in people with cardiovascular disease: Role of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) dysregulation
The rapid spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID?19), has had a dramatic negative impact on public health and economies worldwide. Recent studies on COVID-19 complications and mortality rates suggest that there is a higher prevalence in cardiovascular diseases (CVD) patients. Past investigations on the associations between pre-existing CVDs and susceptibility to coronavirus infections including SARS-CoV and the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), have demonstrated similar results. However, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. This has impeded adequate risk stratification and treatment strategies for CVD patients with SARS-CoV-2 infections. Generally, dysregulation of the expression of angiotensin?converting enzyme (ACE) and the counter regulator, angiotensin?converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is a hallmark of cardiovascular risk and CVD. ACE2 is the main host receptor for SARS-CoV-2. Although further studies are required, dysfunction of ACE2 after virus binding and dysregulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) signaling may worsen the outcomes of people affected by COVID-19 and with preexisting CVD. Here, we review the current knowledge and outline the gaps related to the relationship between CVD and COVID-19 with a focus on the RAAS. Improved understanding of the mechanisms regulating viral entry and the role of RAAS may direct future research with the potential to improve the prevention and management of COVID-19.Scopu
SU(5) Unified Theories from Intersecting Branes
We discuss the first string theory examples of three generation
non-supersymmetric SU(5) and {\em flipped} SU(5) GUTS, which break to the
Standard model at low energy, without extra matter and/or gauge group factors.
Our GUT examples are based on IIA orientifolds with D6-branes
intersecting at non-trivial angles. These theories necessarily satisfy RR
tadpoles and are free of NSNS tadpoles as the complex structure moduli are
frozen (even though a dilaton tadpole remains) to discrete values. We identify
appropriately the bifundamental Higgses responsible for electroweak symmetry
breaking. In this way, the neutrino see-saw mechanism get nicely realized in
these constructions. Moreover, as baryon number is not a gauged symmetry gauge
mediated dimension six operators do contribute to proton decay; however proton
lifetime may be safely enhanced by appropriately choosing a high GUT scale. An
accompanying natural doublet-triplet splitting guarantees the suppression of
scalar mediated proton decay modes and the stability of triplet scalar masses
against higher dimensional non-renormalizable operators.Comment: 26 pages, 5 figures; no changes, one comment added in the

Search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying into two photons in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV
A search for a Higgs boson decaying into two photons is described. The
analysis is performed using a dataset recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC
from pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, which corresponds to an
integrated luminosity of 4.8 inverse femtobarns. Limits are set on the cross
section of the standard model Higgs boson decaying to two photons. The expected
exclusion limit at 95% confidence level is between 1.4 and 2.4 times the
standard model cross section in the mass range between 110 and 150 GeV. The
analysis of the data excludes, at 95% confidence level, the standard model
Higgs boson decaying into two photons in the mass range 128 to 132 GeV. The
largest excess of events above the expected standard model background is
observed for a Higgs boson mass hypothesis of 124 GeV with a local significance
of 3.1 sigma. The global significance of observing an excess with a local
significance greater than 3.1 sigma anywhere in the search range 110-150 GeV is
estimated to be 1.8 sigma. More data are required to ascertain the origin of
this excess.Comment: Submitted to Physics Letters
