    Diálogo de saberes : una contribución desde la vida cotidiana a la etnoeducación

    En principio se reconoce que los seres humanos además de tener vida biológica también tiene un tipo de vida humana explícitamente. La vida cotidiana ha sido abordada en el presente documento desde la parte teórica preponderantemente a partir de Henri Lefebvre y Agnes Heller, enfatizando la cotidianidad como espacios de interacción social y por ende, de saberes cotidianos. Posteriormente se aborda el diálogo de saberes dejando preciso que todos somos portadores de conocimientos científicos y/o saberes cotidianos, y a partir de ello se establecen los elementos básicos que permiten conceptualmente determinar las formas de operar el diálogo de saberes. En la última parte se establecen asociaciones entre los temas citados con anterioridad y el desarrollo teórico, metodológico y normativo de la etnoeducación en Colombia

    Este informe de proyecto de grado de pregrado presenta el desarrollo de un proyecto de software que surge como respuesta a la de gestión del laboratorio de aguas y alimentos de la universidad tecnológica de Pereira en aspectos como: rotulación de muestras, manejo, seguridad, accesibilidad y digitalización de la información, control de operaciones y trazabilidad entre procesos de análisis y sus resultados. Los requerimientos y las reuniones entre los autores y los miembros del laboratorio de aguas y alimentos, permitieron definir el alcance, realizar la planeación del proyecto e identificar elementos críticos y complementarios para ofrecer una solución basada en el desarrollo de software que opere como un sistema de gestión del laboratorio, que cubra los requerimientos y que se ajuste a las necesidad de mejorar los procesos que tiene el laboratorio en aspectos como digitalización, manejo de la información y trazabilidad de procesos. Se desarrolló un sistema modular que permite llevar diversas operaciones de control de la información del laboratorio, de sus miembros y las operaciones que realizan

    Ring attractor bio-inspired neural network for social robot navigation

    Introduction: We introduce a bio-inspired navigation system for a robot to guide a social agent to a target location while avoiding static and dynamic obstacles. Robot navigation can be accomplished through a model of ring attractor neural networks. This connectivity pattern between neurons enables the generation of stable activity patterns that can represent continuous variables such as heading direction or position. The integration of sensory representation, decision-making, and motor control through ring attractor networks offers a biologically-inspired approach to navigation in complex environments. Methods: The navigation system is divided into perception, planning, and control stages. Our approach is compared to the widely-used Social Force Model and Rapidly Exploring Random Tree Star methods using the Social Individual Index and Relative Motion Index as metrics in simulated experiments. We created a virtual scenario of a pedestrian area with various obstacles and dynamic agents. Results: The results obtained in our experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of this architecture in guiding a social agent while avoiding obstacles, and the metrics used for evaluating the system indicate that our proposal outperforms the widely used Social Force Model. Discussion: Our approach points to improving safety and comfort specifically for human-robot interactions. By integrating the Social Individual Index and Relative Motion Index, this approach considers both social comfort and collision avoidance features, resulting in better human-robot interactions in a crowded environment

    A genome-wide association scan implicates DCHS2, RUNX2, GLI3, PAX1 and EDAR in human facial variation

    We report a genome-wide association scan for facial features in B6,000 Latin Americans. We evaluated 14 traits on an ordinal scale and found significant association (P valueso5 10 8) at single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in four genomic regions for three nose-related traits: columella inclination (4q31), nose bridge breadth (6p21) and nose wing breadth (7p13 and 20p11). In a subsample of B3,000 individuals we obtained quantitative traits related to 9 of the ordinal phenotypes and, also, a measure of nasion position. Quantitative analyses confirmed the ordinal-based associations, identified SNPs in 2q12 associated to chin protrusion, and replicated the reported association of nasion position with SNPs in PAX3. Strongest association in 2q12, 4q31, 6p21 and 7p13 was observed for SNPs in the EDAR, DCHS2, RUNX2 and GLI3 genes, respectively. Associated SNPs in 20p11 extend to PAX1. Consistent with the effect of EDAR on chin protrusion, we documented alterations of mandible length in mice with modified Edar funtion

    Latin Americans show wide-spread Converso ancestry and imprint of local Native ancestry on physical appearance

    Historical records and genetic analyses indicate that Latin Americans trace their ancestry mainly to the intermixing (admixture) of Native Americans, Europeans and Sub-Saharan Africans. Using novel haplotype-based methods, here we infer sub-continental ancestry in over 6,500 Latin Americans and evaluate the impact of regional ancestry variation on physical appearance. We find that Native American ancestry components in Latin Americans correspond geographically to the present-day genetic structure of Native groups, and that sources of non-Native ancestry, and admixture timings, match documented migratory flows. We also detect South/East Mediterranean ancestry across Latin America, probably stemming mostly from the clandestine colonial migration of Christian converts of non-European origin (Conversos). Furthermore, we find that ancestry related to highland (Central Andean) versus lowland (Mapuche) Natives is associated with variation in facial features, particularly nose morphology, and detect significant differences in allele frequencies between these groups at loci previously associated with nose morphology in this sample.Instituto Multidisciplinario de Biología Celula

    An embedding technique to determine ττ backgrounds in proton-proton collision data

    An embedding technique is presented to estimate standard model tau tau backgrounds from data with minimal simulation input. In the data, the muons are removed from reconstructed mu mu events and replaced with simulated tau leptons with the same kinematic properties. In this way, a set of hybrid events is obtained that does not rely on simulation except for the decay of the tau leptons. The challenges in describing the underlying event or the production of associated jets in the simulation are avoided. The technique described in this paper was developed for CMS. Its validation and the inherent uncertainties are also discussed. The demonstration of the performance of the technique is based on a sample of proton-proton collisions collected by CMS in 2017 at root s = 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 41.5 fb(-1).Peer reviewe
