All rights reserved. The main aim of this review article was to address the performance of filament wound fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite pipes and their critical properties, such as burst, buckling, durability and corrosion. The importance of process parameters concerning merits and demerits of the manufacturing methods was discussed for the better-quality performance. Burst analysis revealed that the winding angle of ±55° was observed to be optimum with minimum failure mechanisms, such as matrix cracking, whitening, leakage and fracture. The reduction of buckling effect was reported in case of lower hoop stress value in the hoop to axial stress ratio against axial, compression and torsion. A significant improvement in energy absorption was observed in the hybrid composite pipes with the effect of thermal treatment. However, the varying winding angle in FRP pipe fabrication was reported as an influencing factor affecting all the aforementioned properties. Almost 90% of the reviewed studies was done using E-glass/epoxy materials for the composite pipe production. By overcoming associated limitations, such as replacing synthetic materials, designing new material combinations and cost-benefit analysis, the production cost of the lightweight FRP composite pipes can be decreased for the real-time applications.Peer reviewe

Sustainable supply chain management: Confirmation of a higher-order model

Drawing from the research of green supply chain management and corporate social responsibility, this research proposes a hierarchical structure of sustainable supply chain management and develops a multi-item measurement scale to reflect the specific management practices of sustainable supply chain management. In this research, sustainable supply chain management is operationalised as a third-order factor reflected by three second-order factors, namely external green supply chain management, internal green supply chain management and corporate social responsibility. Utilising a rigorous, multi-step scale development method and data from 293 Chinese manufacturers, this research validates a 31-item measurement scale and approves the proposed third-order structure. The results confirm the multidimensionality of sustainable supply chain management, which suggests that it is necessary for the future researches to consider both environmental and social aspects. The valid measurement scales provide managers with a “to do list” to make the specific business decisions to achieve sustainable development in the supply chain

The Occurrences of Code-switching and Code-mixing in the Novel Me and You Versus the World

The objective of this research is to know the most occurrence types of code used in the novel and the purposes that contribute to those occurrences. The data were derived from qualitative technique using a novel as the material. The data were analyzed using manual coding and descriptive qualitative. The result of this research showed that code-switching is the most code used rather than code-mixing. The total of the utterances that used code-switching is 53 in total. Meanwhile, the most type of code-switching that used in the novel is intra-sentential which has 27 in total. There were some purposes that contributed to those occurrences, namely, quoting somebody else, express solidarity, and express disapproval. In the novel, switching a code is used to quote a famous expression, proverb, or writing some well-known figures. Also, it is used to express solidarity, to show the bonding between characters. A status relationship between people may be relevant in choosing the appropriate code. Additionally, express disapproval also can contribute to the occurrence in the novel, to express anger or unpleasant events. Therefore, the three factors are contributed to the occurrence of code-switching in the novel
