    As a multilingual country, language maintenance is important to prevent the local language or varieties from being perished. Javanese language subject at school is one of the languagemaintenance efforts from the government and this paper discusses about the language attitude of the students toward it. There two kind language attitude in learning process, Integrative attitude and instrumental attitude. The attitude that is possessed by the studentswill influence the success of Javanese language subject as language maintenance effort from the government. This paper also discusses about the influence of language shift to more dominant language such as Indonesian language and English toward the student’s attitudedevelopment

    THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LEARNING MODELS REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION AND PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TOWARD MATHEMATICAL REASONING SKILLS AT STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

    This research aims to analyze the difference effectiveness of learning model Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and model learning problem based learning (PBL) to students' mathematical reasoning skills. The design of this research is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study is the students of grade VIII SMPN 1 Watubangga 2015/2016 year that studying about building a flat side space. The data of mathematical reasoning skills is obtained by using the instrument in the form of mathematical reasoning test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis, F test with t test (paired-samples t test and independent-samples t test), at α = 0,05 . Based on the result of analysis of research data obtained that: 1). Student's mathematical reasoning skills before being taught with RME, PBL, and Direct learning models are in the less category after being given learning with the learning model RME, PBL and Direct students' mathematical reasoning skills are in sufficient category. Increased students' mathematical reasoning skills are in the medium category; 2). There is an improvement in students' mathematical reasoning skills after being taught with RME, PBL and Direct learning models; 3). The mathematical reasoning skills of students taught using the RME learning model were not significantly different from those taught by the PBL learning model; 4). There is a difference in the effectiveness of the learning model on improving students' mathematical reasoning skills, which is taught using a learning model RME more effective than students taught by direct learning model; 5). The students' mathematical reasoning skills are taught using the PBL learning model more effective than students taught by direct learning model; 6). Student activity during learning process using RME learning model and PBL learning models, indicating that students are very active

    Rethinking Migration and Return in Southeastern Europe

    This book provides an important new analytical framework for making sense of return, remigration and circular mobility, conceptualising them as different phases of a wider migration process. Using an in-depth case study of Albania and its two main destination countries, Italy and Greece, the book demonstrates that instead of being viewed as a linear path between origin and destination, migration should be seen as a segmented, or cyclical pattern that may involve several localities and more than two countries. Characterised by important previous historical, social, economic and political linkages, geographical proximity but also high migration volatility and sustained flows in either directions, Albanian migration to Italy and Greece offers an optimal case study for analysing complex return, reintegration and mobility processes. While interesting as a unique regional migration system, the lessons learned cast light on important migration and mobility dynamics that are relevant for labour migration in Europe, also from other important migrant origin countries in the EU’s neighbourhood such as for instance Morocco or the Ukraine. This rich theoretical and empirical study will be of interest to researchers within European Studies and Migration Studies, as well as providing a useful contribution to policy debates on how to govern return migration, reintegration and circular migration

    PEMBELAJARAN IPA MODEL INTEGRATED UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR PADA POKOK BAHASAN ENERGI DI SMP NEGERI PURWOREJO, JAWA TENGAH

    Telah dilakukan penelitian  yang  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui peran IPA model  integrated  dalam  meningkatkan motivasi  dan  hasil belajar  peserta didik,  serta untuk  mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam melaksanakan  pembelajaran    IPA  model  integrated  pada pokok bahasan energi.  Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimental   semu dengan subjek penelitian  siswa kelas VIII SMP N 28 Purworejo, Jawa Tengah, dengan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas,  yaitu kelas VIII E sebanyak 32 orang sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VIII F sebanyak 32 orang sebagai kelompok kontrol. Alat ukur penelitian berupa  soal dan kuesioner yang sudah diuji  validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Teknik  analisis yang digunakan adalah uji beda, yaitu    independent sample t test  dan  paired sample t   test.  Hasil uji beda kemampuan awal kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol menunjukkan  tidak ada perbedaan signifikan skor pretes  antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol,  sedang hasil uji beda  postes  dan  pretes  kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol  menunjukkan  terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan rata-rata nilai  postes  dan rata-rata nilai  pretes  kelompok eksperimen.  Pada kelompok kontrol juga terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan rata-rata nilai  postes  dan rata-rata nilai  pretes,  sehingga   untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran IPA  model integrated terhadap hasil belajar IPA digunakan uji beda rata -rata indeks  peningkatan  (gain index)  kedua kelompok. Indeks  peningkatan  rata-rata kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan  bahwa  penerapan pembelajaran IPA  model  integrated  dapat  meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA.Ternyata  indeks  peningkatan   motivasi kelompok eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran IPA  model integrated  lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan indeks  peningkatan  motivasi dari kelompok kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA model  integrated  pada pokok bahasan energi dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar di SMP Negeri Purworejo

    Praktik Lapangan Terbimbing (PLT) merupakan mata kuliah 3 SKS yang harus ditempuh oleh mahasiswa S-1 kependidikan, termasuk Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengalaman bagi mahasiswa kependidikan yang nantinya akan menjalani profesi sebagai seorang pendidik dalam rangka melatih dan mengembangkan kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, profesional, dan sosial. Selain itu, mahasiswa dapat merasakan atmosfer dunia kependidikan secara langsung. PLT yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Klaten yang berlokasi di Jalan Mayor Sunaryo 42 Jonggrangan, Klaten Utara, Klaten berlangsung selama kurang lebih 2 bulan, yaitu sejak tanggal 15 September sampai dengan 15 November 2017. Kegiatan ini mencakup praktik mengajar dan praktik manajemen administrasi sekolah yang diselenggarakan oleh pihak SMA Negeri 3 Klaten. Adapun hasil yang dicapai selama PLT, mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman dan ketrampilan untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran dan kegiatan manajerial di sekolah. Praktik mengajar yang dilaksanakan dapat berjalan lancar walaupun terdapat kendala pada awalnya. Kendal-kendala ini dapat diatasi dengan berkonsultasi dengan guru pembimbing dan terus memperbaiki diri selama proses pembelajaran berupa PLT. Kegiatan PLT memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi mahasiswa. Aplikasi ilmu selama di kampus benarbenar diterapkan saat PLT berlangsung. Mahasiswa PLT juga belajar tentang manajemen kelas dan mengelolanya. Hal yang paling penting dari PLT ini adalah mahasiswa memperoleh kegiatan berharga dan juga hubungan kekeluargaan dengan siswa, guru, maupun masyarakat sekolah

    CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND EARNINGS MANAGEMENT: THE ROLE OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of corporate governance in the relationship of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and firm size to earnings management of manufacturing firms in Indonesia. Methodology: The study draws on data from 66 firms listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2017, using a multiple regression model. The present study examines the influence of CSR on earnings management, and the impact of corporate governance on the relationship between CSR and firm size with earnings management. Main Findings: The finding showed that the effect of CSR on earnings management was significant and positive. The study also finds a statistically significant negative relationship between firm size and earnings management. The evidence also shows the role of corporate governance in the relationship of CSR and firm size to earnings management is significant and negative, it means that when the firm has good corporate governance, the firms that allocate CSR funds are relatively large, then it will tend not to practice earnings management, likewise large firms with good corporate governance will tend not to do earnings management. Research limitations/implications: The present study does not include all possible other variables that influence earnings management. Further research might increase the scope of research objects by extending the study period and need to pay attention to the firm's macro factors or economic risk factors outside of financial performance so as to provide a more comprehensive picture of the results of the study. Originality/value: The study focuses on the role of corporate governance issues such as the independence and activity of the boards and their influence on earnings management. The subject analyses the possible impact of CSR and firms size-related earnings management that has received much attention from academic research, which has largely focused on studying the publications of corporate governance in Indonesia context and can be contributes thoughts about the importance of corporate social responsibility activities that are reported as a basis for consideration incorporate policy-making to further enhance corporate awareness in the social environment, as well as the importance of corporate governance to minimize earnings management practices

    THE USE OF STUDENTS TEAMS ACHIEVEMENT DIVISIONS (STAD) TECHNIQUE IN TEACHING WRITING RECOUNT TEXT

    This research paper entitled “The Use of Students Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Technique in Teaching Writing Recount Text” is intended to find out the effectiveness of STAD technique to improve students writing skill and to investigate the significant of STAD technique comparing to conventional method. The research design in this study was a quasi experimental research that consisted of pre-test and post-test as the treatment. This study took the second grade students of SMP Negeri 04 Pangalengan 2019/2020 academic year that involved 40 students of experimental group and 40 students of control group. After conducting the research and computing the data, the writer concludes that STAD technique is effective in teaching writing recount text. It can be seen from the result of t-observed value. Before the treatments, the t-observed is less than t-table (0.6 < 2.000) the null hypothesis is retained. It means there is no significant difference in writing ability between experimental group and control group before treatments. After the treatment, the t-observed is bigger than t-table (3.92 > 2.000) and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. It means there is significance different in the result between experimental group and control group in teaching writing recount text by using STAD technique. This also means that STAD technique is effective in teaching writing recount text to the second grade of Junior High School. From the result of the questionnaire, the writer can conclude that almost all of students like writing, they agree that the use of STAD can be more active, communicative, makes students understand the material better and can improve they ability to work individually or in groups especially in writing recount text. In other words, students get positive responses in teaching writing by using STAD for the second grade of junior high school.Key Words: Students Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD), Recount Tex
