    Effect of composition and heat treatment on the mechanical properties of Fe Mn Al steels

    Starting from the research aimed at the development of substitute alloys for stainless steels, with the aim of replacing strategic metals such as chromium and nickel with the more available manganese, FeMnAlC alloys have been studied and developed for several years. These alloys exhibit an attractive strength/ductility combination, low density, and some of them show good oxidation behaviour at high temperatures. After a preliminary study, in this paper the effect of a solubilization treatment followed by aging in the temperature range 550 - 750 °C has been evaluated. The results of the investigation revealed that the steel characterized by the higher amount of Mn and Al shows, after heat treatment, the formation of phases that make the alloy very brittle. Considering the obtained results, it is evident that optimizing the alloy chemical composition is of paramount importance to guarantee a high fracture toughness if the steel works for limited time intervals at high temperature

    “Interleukin” - An Essential Mediator of the Pathophysiology of Periodontitis

    Chronic periodontitis is a multifactorial polymicrobial disease caused by a complex interaction between periodontal pathogens and host immune response. This interaction is largely regulalated by a group of signaling molecules called Interleukins. Initially, investigators believed that interleukins were made chiefly by leukocytes to act primarily on other leukocytes, and for this reason they named them interleukins, meaning “between leukocytes”. The majority of interleukins are synthesized by helper CD4+ T lymphocytes, as well as through monocytes, macrophages, and endothelial cells. Interleukins provide information to various inflammatory cells to produce essential proteins which exert pro inflammatory as well as anti inflammatory responses. This chapter will emphasize the role of interleukins in the pathophysiology of periodontitis

    Revisiting Yoyo Tricks on AES

    At Asiacrypt 2017, Rønjom et al. presented key-independent distinguishers for different numbers of rounds of AES, ranging from 3 to 6 rounds, in their work titled “Yoyo Tricks with AES”. The reported data complexities for these distinguishers were 3, 4, 225.8, and 2122.83, respectively. In this work, we revisit those key-independent distinguishers and analyze their success probabilities. We show that the distinguishing algorithms provided for 5 and 6 rounds of AES in the paper of Rønjom et al. are ineffective with the proposed data complexities. Our thorough theoretical analysis has revealed that the success probability of these distinguishers for both 5-round and 6-round AES is approximately 0.5, with the corresponding data complexities mentioned earlier. We investigate the reasons behind this seemingly random behavior of those reported distinguishers. Based on our theoretical findings, we have revised the distinguishing algorithm for 5-round AES. Our revised algorithm demonstrates success probabilities of approximately 0.55 and 0.81 for 5-round AES, with data complexities of 229.95 and 230.65, respectively. We have also conducted experimental tests to validate our theoretical findings, which further support our findings. Additionally, we have theoretically demonstrated that improving the success probability of the distinguisher for 6-round AES from 0.50000 to 0.50004 would require a data complexity of 2129.15. This finding invalidates the reported distinguisher by Rønjom et al. for 6-round AES

    Search for heavy resonances decaying to two Higgs bosons in final states containing four b quarks

    A search is presented for narrow heavy resonances X decaying into pairs of Higgs bosons (H) in proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at root s = 8 TeV. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The search considers HH resonances with masses between 1 and 3 TeV, having final states of two b quark pairs. Each Higgs boson is produced with large momentum, and the hadronization products of the pair of b quarks can usually be reconstructed as single large jets. The background from multijet and t (t) over bar events is significantly reduced by applying requirements related to the flavor of the jet, its mass, and its substructure. The signal would be identified as a peak on top of the dijet invariant mass spectrum of the remaining background events. No evidence is observed for such a signal. Upper limits obtained at 95 confidence level for the product of the production cross section and branching fraction sigma(gg -> X) B(X -> HH -> b (b) over barb (b) over bar) range from 10 to 1.5 fb for the mass of X from 1.15 to 2.0 TeV, significantly extending previous searches. For a warped extra dimension theory with amass scale Lambda(R) = 1 TeV, the data exclude radion scalar masses between 1.15 and 1.55 TeV

    A presente pesquisa buscou discutir como a Educação Ambiental (EA) vem sendo trabalhada, no Ensino Fundamental e como os docentes desta escola compreendem e vem inserindo a EA no cotidiano escolar., em uma escola estadual do município de Tangará da Serra/MT, Brasil. Para tanto, realizou-se entrevistas com os professores que fazem parte de um projeto interdisciplinar de EA na escola pesquisada. Verificou-se que o projeto da escola não vem conseguindo alcançar os objetivos propostos por: desconhecimento do mesmo, pelos professores; formação deficiente dos professores, não entendimento da EA como processo de ensino-aprendizagem, falta de recursos didáticos, planejamento inadequado das atividades. A partir dessa constatação, procurou-se debater a impossibilidade de tratar do tema fora do trabalho interdisciplinar, bem como, e principalmente, a importância de um estudo mais aprofundado de EA, vinculando teoria e prática, tanto na formação docente, como em projetos escolares, a fim de fugir do tradicional vínculo “EA e ecologia, lixo e horta”.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

    Mitigating Fingerprinting Attacks Against Location Based Path Selection in Tor

    The Tor network is vulnerable to both passive attacks as well as active attacks that manipulate network routing. These attacks degrade a client’s anonymity and privacy. Location based path selection algorithms, such as DeNASA and Counter-RAPTOR have been suggested to increase the network’s resilience to such active attacks. However, these selection schemes depend on the client’s location, and thus, over multiple selections leak probabilistic information about the client’s identity. This leaves a client vulnerable to statistical fingerprinting attacks. An autonomous system (AS) level adversary can observe these guard selections and deanonymise Tor clients. This work proposes and investigates the use of client aliasing. Client aliasing is when client ASes are clustered together, and member ASes mimic the guard selection behaviour of the cluster representative. Clustering provides a minimum anonymity set for Tor clients, which makes them resilient to statistical fingerprinting attacks, since an AS level adversary may be able to locate the cluster of ASes that the client is from, but will not be able to pinpoint the specific AS the Tor client is from. It is expected however, that when member ASes mimic the guard selection behaviour of the representative AS, some of the resilience gained from location based path selection will be lost. Client aliasing on the DeNASA algorithm is investigated. Several metrics are tested and presented. The results show that using client aliasing can be used to mitigate against fingerprinting attacks without significantly degrading the security properties of using location based path selection schemes against active attacks

    Mobile phone messaging to husbands to improve maternal and child health behavior in India

    Over 90% of households in rural Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of India, have at least one mobile phone. However, ownership of mobile phone among women is quite low. Implementation research was conducted in Uttar Pradesh to examine (a) whether providing information on selected maternal and child health (MCH) behaviors to a husband’s mobile phone would enhance the man’s knowledge and lead to discussions in their family, and (b) whether such discussions would help in the adoption of healthy practices. The m-Health intervention included biweekly voice messages in local language (Hindi) on MCH topics to the mobile phone of pregnant women’s husbands. Using a quasi-experimental design, after four months of the m-Health intervention, in 2014, 881 husbands and 956 women from the study area were interviewed. Husbands’ knowledge, controlling for their socio-demographic characteristics, were significantly higher among the listeners of the messages than the non-listeners. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that if husbands discussed the messages with family members, the odds of wives’ practicing health behaviors improved significantly for three behaviors. These include one antenatal checkup in last trimester of pregnancy (odds ratio 1.72, p \u3c 0.05), receiving a postnatal checkup within 7 days of delivery (odds ratio 3.02, p \u3c 0.05), and delayed bathing of newborn (odds ratio 1.93, p \u3c 0.05). Thus, communicating messages using m-Health was found to be an effective intervention for behavior change. The study demonstrated that mobile phones can be used effectively to reach men with MCH information and encourage them to promote healthy behavior in their family

    In this research article, we envisage the neutrosophic number from various distinct rational perspectives & viewpoints to give it a look of a conundrum. We focused & analysed various types of linear and non-linear generalized trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers which serves an indispensable role for uncertainty concept related problem. We also introduce the idea of de-neutrosofication for trapezoidal neutrosophic number using an influx of different logical & innovative methods by which we move with a manifesto to convert a neutrosophic number into a crisp number. Using this concept of de-neutrosophication, we analyze some real-life problem like networking Crash model problem and job-sequencing problem of operation research field when the numbers are in trapezoidal neutrosophic ambience. We also compare our specified result with previously defined score and accuracy function and try to present some interesting and better result without any possible fiasco. This noble thought will help us to solve a plethora of daily life problems in neutrosophic arena
