    Ekonomska efikasnost dodavanja maltoze u ishrani mlađi nilske tilapije (оrеоchrоmis nilоticus)

    Diets developed for aquaculture require good stability to avoid dissolution from exposure, especially carbohydrates. Five experimental diets were formulated to contain different maltose levels (20, 25, 30 and 35%). Maltose retention at 15, 30, and 60 minutes was investigated in the laboratory. The result of the experiments showed that maltose leaching increased by increasing time of immersion (30 min),and it was 100% for feed 20, containing25% maltose, and 95% for feed 30,containing 35% maltose. The growth was correlated to the data produced from the leaching of dietary maltose, and significant differences (P < 0.05) in mean final weight and mean weight gain between groups have been recorded. The fish fed diet which contained 35% maltose achieved the best growth, economic efficiency and relative economic efficiency comparing with other tested diets.Hrana koja se proizvodi zа аkvаkulturu zаhtеvа dоbru stаbilnоst, kаkо bi sе izbеglо njeno rаspаdаnje u toku primene, nаrоčitо uglјеnih hidrаtа. Pеt еkspеrimеntаlnih hrаna je fоrmulisаno tаkо dа sаdrže rаzličitе količine mаltоze (20, 25, 30 i 35%). Postojanost maltoze u toku 15, 30, i 60 minutа ustanovljeno je u lаbоrаtоrijskim uslovima. Ekspеrimеntalni rеzultаti su pоkаzаli dа se natapljenost mаltоzom povećava sa pоvеćаnjеm vrеmеnа potapanja (30 min) i bilo је 100% zа hrаnu 20, sa 25% mаltоze i 95% zа hrаnu 30, sa 35% mаltоzе. Porаst је bio u kоrеlаciјi sа podacima koji su dobijeni za natapanje diјеtеtske mаltоze, а ustanovljene su znаčајnе rаzlikе (p <0,05) u srednjim vrednostima finalne mase kao i u prirastu srednjih vrednosti masa između grupa. Ribа koja je hranjena hranom koja je sаdržala 35% maltoze оstvаrilа je nајbоlјi prirаst, еkоnоmsku еfikаsnоst i rеlаtivnе еkоnоmskе еfikаsnоsti u pоrеđеnju sа drugim ispitanim hranama

    Production of Cellulose from Barley Husks as a Partial Ingredient of Formulated Diet for Tilapia Fingerlings

    Cellulose is the most abundant renewable polysaccharide on earth and it is widely used in many aspect and industries such as food industry, pharmaceutical, and many more. Due to the increasing demand in the market, studies and work to produce cellulose are still rapidly developing. In this study, barley husks was pretreated in hot water at 100°C and followed with liquid oxidation process with 30% H2O2 at 60°C. Through the hot water treatment, cellulose in the barley husks was successfully recovered as glucuronic acid, saccharides, cellulose and thus leaving fats. Results obtained also show that after treatment, the barley husks is made up 66.00% cellulose. This cellulose can be used as source of the digestible carbohydrate in fish feed which can help in reducing the cost of feed production.     Measurement of the Flexible Bending Force of the Index and Middle Fingers for Virtual Interaction

    AbstractIn this paper the development of a new low cost dataglove based on fingertip bending tracking techniques for measuring the fingers bending on various virtual interaction activities is presented as an alternative to the rehabilitation services enhancement in the betterment of the quality of life especially for the disabled person. The purpose of the research is to design a flexible control for measurement study of virtual interaction of index and middle fingers that are important in a variety of contexts as well as the deterministic approach. These analyses of fingers flexing of the system were using the flexible bend sensor functioning as a key intermediate of the process to track the fingertip positions and orientations. The main propose of the low cost dataglove is to provide natural input control of interaction in virtual, multimodal and tele-presence environments as an input devices provide as they can monitor the dexterity and flexibility characteristics of the human hand motion. Preliminary experimental results have shown that the dataglove capable to measure several human Degree of Freedom (DoF), “translating” them into commands for the interaction in the virtual world

    Multi-mode Flight Sliding Mode Control System for a Quadrotor

    There is a wide range of applications for unmanned aerial vehicles that requires the capability of having several and robust flight controllers available. This paper presents the main framework of a multimode flight control system for a quadrotor based on the super twisting control algorithm. The design stages for the four flight control modes encompassing manual, altitude, GPS fixed and autonomous mode are presented. The stability proof for each flight mode is carried out by means of Lyapunov functions while the stability analysis for the complete system, when a transition from one mode to another occurs, is demonstrated using the switching nonlinear systems theory. The performance of the proposed framework is demonstrated in a simulation study taking into account external disturbances

    Albumin binding, antioxidant and antibacterial effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles

    Herein, the interaction of CeO2 NPs with HSA was explored by fluorescence, CD, UVevis and molecular docking studies. Afterwards, the antioxidant activity of CeO2 NPs against H2O2-induced oxidative stress in BM-MSCs were explored by MTT, ROS and apoptosis assays. Antibacterial assay was also done on two Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. Fluorescence study showed that the interaction of CeO2 NPs with HSA occurs through static quenching and hydrophilic interactions are involved in the spontaneous complex formation. The theoretical study also revealed that the distribution of hydrophilic residues of HSA is dominant in the binding site. CD and UVevis techniques also revealed that the ellipticity changes and Tm of HSA, respectively did not alter significantly in the presence of CeO2 NPs. Cellular assays depicted that CeO2 NPs did not induce cytotoxicity against BM-MSC up to 50 mg/ml for 24 h and pretreatment of cells with CeO2 NPs can reduce the cell mortality, ROS production and apoptosis in BM-MSC exposed to oxidative stress. The antibacterial assay revealed that CeO2 NPs have a significant antibacterial effect against all studied bacterial strains. This study may provide useful details about the biomedical applications of CeO2 NPs

    Search for a W' boson decaying to a bottom quark and a top quark in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

    Results are presented from a search for a W' boson using a dataset corresponding to 5.0 inverse femtobarns of integrated luminosity collected during 2011 by the CMS experiment at the LHC in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV. The W' boson is modeled as a heavy W boson, but different scenarios for the couplings to fermions are considered, involving both left-handed and right-handed chiral projections of the fermions, as well as an arbitrary mixture of the two. The search is performed in the decay channel W' to t b, leading to a final state signature with a single lepton (e, mu), missing transverse energy, and jets, at least one of which is tagged as a b-jet. A W' boson that couples to fermions with the same coupling constant as the W, but to the right-handed rather than left-handed chiral projections, is excluded for masses below 1.85 TeV at the 95% confidence level. For the first time using LHC data, constraints on the W' gauge coupling for a set of left- and right-handed coupling combinations have been placed.     Search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying into two photons in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV

    A search for a Higgs boson decaying into two photons is described. The analysis is performed using a dataset recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC from pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 inverse femtobarns. Limits are set on the cross section of the standard model Higgs boson decaying to two photons. The expected exclusion limit at 95% confidence level is between 1.4 and 2.4 times the standard model cross section in the mass range between 110 and 150 GeV. The analysis of the data excludes, at 95% confidence level, the standard model Higgs boson decaying into two photons in the mass range 128 to 132 GeV. The largest excess of events above the expected standard model background is observed for a Higgs boson mass hypothesis of 124 GeV with a local significance of 3.1 sigma. The global significance of observing an excess with a local significance greater than 3.1 sigma anywhere in the search range 110-150 GeV is estimated to be 1.8 sigma. More data are required to ascertain the origin of this excess.Comment: Submitted to Physics Letters

    Measurement of the Lambda(b) cross section and the anti-Lambda(b) to Lambda(b) ratio with Lambda(b) to J/Psi Lambda decays in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

    The Lambda(b) differential production cross section and the cross section ratio anti-Lambda(b)/Lambda(b) are measured as functions of transverse momentum pt(Lambda(b)) and rapidity abs(y(Lambda(b))) in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV using data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The measurements are based on Lambda(b) decays reconstructed in the exclusive final state J/Psi Lambda, with the subsequent decays J/Psi to an opposite-sign muon pair and Lambda to proton pion, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.9 inverse femtobarns. The product of the cross section times the branching ratio for Lambda(b) to J/Psi Lambda versus pt(Lambda(b)) falls faster than that of b mesons. The measured value of the cross section times the branching ratio for pt(Lambda(b)) > 10 GeV and abs(y(Lambda(b))) < 2.0 is 1.06 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.12 nb, and the integrated cross section ratio for anti-Lambda(b)/Lambda(b) is 1.02 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.09, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.Comment: Submitted to Physics Letters

    Search for new physics in events with opposite-sign leptons, jets, and missing transverse energy in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

    A search is presented for physics beyond the standard model (BSM) in final states with a pair of opposite-sign isolated leptons accompanied by jets and missing transverse energy. The search uses LHC data recorded at a center-of-mass energy sqrt(s) = 7 TeV with the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 5 inverse femtobarns. Two complementary search strategies are employed. The first probes models with a specific dilepton production mechanism that leads to a characteristic kinematic edge in the dilepton mass distribution. The second strategy probes models of dilepton production with heavy, colored objects that decay to final states including invisible particles, leading to very large hadronic activity and missing transverse energy. No evidence for an event yield in excess of the standard model expectations is found. Upper limits on the BSM contributions to the signal regions are deduced from the results, which are used to exclude a region of the parameter space of the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model. Additional information related to detector efficiencies and response is provided to allow testing specific models of BSM physics not considered in this paper.Comment: Replaced with published version.     Measurement of isolated photon production in pp and PbPb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV

    Isolated photon production is measured in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energies of 2.76 TeV in the pseudorapidity range |eta|<1.44 and transverse energies ET between 20 and 80 GeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The measured ET spectra are found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD predictions. The ratio of PbPb to pp isolated photon ET-differential yields, scaled by the number of incoherent nucleon-nucleon collisions, is consistent with unity for all PbPb reaction centralities.Comment: Submitted to Physics Letters
